Chap Mei wins hands down when you consider the whole "more bang for your buck" theory.

You can get a vehicle the size of a Jedi Starfighter for less than $10 and individual figures for $1 each :D

Sure the articulation is lacking, but they are awsome fodder for customizing and a great, low priced alternative for little boys that just want to play with some toys :)

Pardon for asking, but what exactly is Chap Mei?

Chap Mei is the manufacturer of many, many different action figure lines that can be found at a variety of different retail venues but are most commonly known for their single carded figures that show up at Dollar Tree every spring. The various boxed sets are more difficult to find but are quite striking and very affordable. You really get alot of bang for your buck.

And Jesse James, the bald pirate is available single carded, I'm actually using a number of them at the moment as base bodies for part of my "Super Secret Custom Project" (which will be unveiled sometime in early June :D ).

I went into Eckards tonight and look what I found for $19.99:

The long-awaited Chap Mei "Pirate Expeditions" small pirate ship!

This thing is a little on the small side but very cool none the less.

Enjoy the pics:

It comes with 2 figures (Captain Mad Gunn and Scorpio Morgan), several accessories, and the tigershark "Rayzor Sharkie".

The set also comes with the complete four-piece treasure hoard (usually only available one piece at a time in the boxed figure/small animal sets)!

Eckards also carries the boxed figure/small animal sets for $5.99 and single carded figures for $2.99.

That's just fodder? Not your actually collection? OMG! :o And I thought I was bad.

Yep, Just fodder :)

I've been collecting parts for customs since the early 90's.

Man I am so jelous of Phrubys custom fodder.

That got me thinking.  It would be fun to have pictures of everyone's fodder  ;D

This was back in 2004:

Today it fills the two 6' wide by 3' deep closets in my hobby room and also fills up a 5' wide by 4' deep  by 8' high cube of space in my garage!

Updated to reflect current deals and added some new inventory including:

Free Comic Book "Stargate SG1" Jack O'Neil still in the headercard baggie but no accessories (accessories removed through small unobtrusive incision in side of bottom of bag- needed accessories for a custom)

I also updated my wants as I really need one of those Target Exclusive BBI/Elite Force HIND Helicopters! They appeared and were discontinued in the same week here in Jersey and the one time I saw them I had no cash :(  I want one to make the flying ambulance from the episode of "Firefly" where the crew of Serenity had to break into the hospital so Simon could scan River's brain.

The Vader Tie was definately in a box roughtly the same size as the mid ship, if not the same. What else shipped with it? The Outrider and T-16?

The "original" mid-sized vehicles that shipped in the same sized boxes were:

TIE Fighter
T-16
A-Wing (this was the only box with a window in it as is came with a figure)
Vader's TIE

The Outrider's box was slightly larger and shipped by itself during the "Shadows Of The Empire" campaign. It re-shipped in a green box that was the same size as the original purple one and also shipped by itself for a brief time after the "Special Editions" were released.

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Custom Accesories
« on: April 26, 2006, 08:06 PM »
More custom weapons:

Doomtrooper Squad Leader's Rifles:

Made from "Spawn" Jessica Priest rifles and "The Corps!" handles.

Doomtrooper Plasma Guns:

Made from "G.I.Joe" Darklon's Evader cannons and trimmings from ROTS Clone Pilot's staffs.

Yutja Hunting Staff:

Made from a pair of "Kool Toys" Giant Dragon Castle spears fused together and painted to match the armor of my custom Preds.

Various custom Pirate/Thug/Other weapons:

These are the only other ones that have been photographed so far. I have about 200 custom weapons alltogether :D

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Custom Accesories

I make TONS of custom weapons for my figures! Heres just a small sampling:

Here is a gallery of custom Star Wars-scale weapons from the Halo series of video games.

First up is my personal weapon of choice, the S2 AM Sniper Rifle:

Parts: Assembled from bits and pieces of almost a dozen different G.I.Joe and Star Wars weapons.

Next up is the M19 SSM Rocket Launcher:

Parts: Middle part of a Wave 7 Bazooka's bazooka, a spear from the "X-Men villian "Ahab", trimmings from several different G.I.Joe weapons.

Finally we have a medly of small arms. The ones on the left are M6C Pistols, and the larger ones on the right are M7/Caseless Sub Machine Guns:

Parts:
Pistols: heavily modded Chap Mei Wild Force pistols and trimmings from a Saga Djas Puhr pistol.

SMGs: heavily modded Episode I Naboo Soldier rifles and pieces from "The Corps" sniper rifles.

I felt that the G.I. Joe character Chuckles was always underarmed carrying just the pistol, so I decided to amp up his firepower a bit for his "Galactic Intelligence: Joint Operations Elite" version. I fugured that a blaster carbine-sized weapon would give Chuckles the extra firepower he needs while not being rediculously overarmed. The carbine is a custom made from some G.I.Joe rifle (Blackout?) I got in a trade last year and a piece trimmed from a POTF2 Stormtrooper rifle.

Here's another "Galactic Intelligence:Joint Operations Elite" weapon- Recondo's rifle. I made this from the oversized "Operation: Aliens" Colonial Marines Pulse Rifle that was packed with the KB Exclusive Vasquez figure. I dremelled out the area inside the carring grip on top and completely repainted the rifle to match the ones in the film "Aliens".

More "Galactic Intelligence:Joint Operations Elite" accessory goodness! This time it's a medical case carried by the team's medic, Doc. It's made from a vintage G.I.Joe "Tiger Force" Lifeline medical case and a POTF2 Mynock Hunt breathmask. Every millimeter of this thing was repainted. The Aurebesch writing on the front cover says "RESCUE" as an homage to the Lifeline figure it came from :)

The blaster carbine carried by my "Galactic Inetlligence:Joint Operations Elite" version of Snake Eyes was made from the rifle that came with the Joe named Bullhorn. I just cut it up into little pieces and glued a few of them together :)

These "Brotherhood Of The Serpent" baddies are carrying custom staffs. Cobra's is made from the top part of a G.I.Joe Venomous Maximus staff and most of a Weequay pike. Mistress DeCobray's staff is the top of an "Aladdin" Jafar staff and the majority of a Chancellor Valorum staff.

The gun carried by my "Brotherhood Of The Serpent" version of Destro is made from an "Armor-Tech" handgun and some odss'n'ends.

Yeah, I don't even think the larger scaled wings fit in a Mid-sized vehicle box.

They won't unless they are retooled to be collapsable or to come apart at the midline (lengthwise) :(

Added some new inventory:

1) Star Wars Vintage (1978-1985) Nikto action figure- nice condition but has some extraneous paint marks on the arms that need to be removed.

2) several varieties of Clonetrooper helmeted heads (including Scorch and some ROTS variants!) as well as a pair of Royal Guard (blue) heads.

3) a handfull of those clear heads InToys used in their S.W.A.T. packaging under the cloth baclavas.
