Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Tough Times at Hasbro
« on: December 15, 2023, 01:42 PM »
I was going to say pretty much the same thing. They've picked up so many properties. Some have made money and some have been losers. Can't fault them for that. But it does suck that it means they have to slash jobs and increase prices.

Do they announce breakdowns by sectors? I've never seen theirs. Would be interesting to see how TVC and The Black Series compare to other toys if their financial release is that granular.

The Vintage Collection / Re: 4” Epic Hero Series Figure Line

Pass on the figures.  I had been hopeful that Hasbro would articulate these figures at least as well as the Marvel Epic Heroes figures.  But those hopes have been dashed.  I'm not going to buy these mostly because I'm not the target market.  And that's going to remain the case until there's a character in the Epic Heroes line that just has not been, or is unlikely to be offered in the Vintage Collection.

I'm 99% leaning the same way.

I intended to collect the Young Jedi Adventures toys. When I saw them, I just couldn't bring myself to collect them for space-sake. The same rationale goes for these, the exception being a cool figure/accessory/beast/vehicle we'll unlikely see in the "collector" line in the near future.

Happy they're being made by Hasbro. Hopefully it's successful enough with:
- x-over sales from the collector-focused lines
- gift buyers for younger kids ("So-and-so likes Star Wars. I can get 3 of these colorful toys for less than 2 of those. (Those == the TVC or Black Series.))
- kids, who probably has a fleeting interest in SW toys but would enjoy the features

That $125 sounds tempting. But that would make it my 3rd version of Fett's starship?  :-X

Didn't know Axe Woves is a Target exlusive. First time I heard/saw that it's available for order.

Anway, Woves and a handful of cheapie extras coming my way.

Thanks, Nick. The link was helpful. I'm in the same boat as Dave with all of this social media. And I also voted for the unmade characters.

Now, someone step on my lawn so i can yell at you to get off.

I always considered the 3.75" and 4" lines the same 1:18 scale. I just say 3.75" because that's how the Star Wars small figs were always referred to.

Using 6', or 72", as the standard height/length, 1/18 of that is 4". Mark Hamill is 5'8", or 68". (Different internet sources list him anywhere from 5'-7" to 5'-9".) That's 3.778". Close enough to 3.75", which is what we generally call the Star Wars small figures.

My fuzzy logic.  :P

But as was mentioned already, we'll see.

Man, almost forgot to turn this in like my project paper a long time ago.

So many charcters I want done with high articulation. For the sake of getting lots of different figures, I'm accepting in my collection the lifeless 5-6 poa Hasbro already made and stripping them from my wantlist...for now.

In no particular order except series/movie:

===Andor===
Bix Caleen
Maarva Andor
Kino
Luthen Rael
Deedra Meero
Andor, child
Cinta Kaz
Syril Karn

===Rogue One===
General Draven
Jyn Erso, child

===Obi-Wan===
Princess Leia, child
Luke, child
Tala Durith
Fourth Sister
Dinosaur bounty hunter
Fifth Brother
Haja Estree
Roken

===Solo===
Dryden Vos
Imperial Patrol Trooper

To paraphrase Lady Liberty, "Give them all to me!"

The Jabba' Palace theme has gotten a lot of attention these past few years but I'd love Max Rebo's band with a movie-accurate Max. I wouldn't mind a properly scaled Rappertunie or Ak-Rev; redone dancers; Arica (or who ever she is depending on your souce material).

Characters from the bar in TFA. Maarva -- man, that monologue makes me look at Fiona Shaw so differently now -- and so many from Andor. So many from all the movies and new media.

I ordered from HasbroPulse in mid-August and this or last week from Amazon, figuring I'll cancel the laggard. Saw that the Amazon order has an eta of 10/10. Lately all of my HasbroPulse orders have come from Illinois and have taken 7-8 days. Since it's already 10/7...sorry HasbroPuse.

I don't collect the 6" scale so i have no skin in the game. These are different enough to have a "cool" factor. Not $35 cool, but others might feel differently.

From what i believe of 6" buyers -- an opinion strictly based on what Hasbro designers have said; youtube; conspiracy theories; and Mel Gibson movies -- these will sell enough to be slightly profitable.

On the other hand, if Hasbro came out with these in the 3.75" line, I'd scratch my head bald and wonder why they wasted retailer slots on characters we haven't seen as holograms...as I'm writing Hasbro's team member's names on my torch and pitchfork.  >:D

Found this at Target today. Haven't opened yet. Never pre-ordered and I ended up canceling the single-carded Luke.

 $11 over the TVC for Grogu, 7 frogs, stand, Grogu's lightsaber, hilt, chainmail and wrapping containing the chainmail. I guess it's worth it???

Nice display. Bib does look lonely. I'm keeping my second for when Hasbro does release enough figures. I guess i have more optimism than brain cells.

Aside from the purchases from HasbroPulse and Amazon, I found Obi-Wan (w/ Lola) at Ross for $3.99. I haven't found any TVC or Black Series there in years so I bought it for the heck of it.

That episode had a lot to think about. A guy on youtube speculated that some of those troopers were dead and brought back to animation by Elsbeth.

So many toy possibilities including the howler. We'll never get a majority of them but i can dream.
