Yeah that’s why I pulled the trigger on this little experiment.  I already had multiple sets and don’t want too many sets of twins, but with the head swaps… why not.

Agreed guys.

And, while I’m all about Star Wars being more inclusive in the modern age, what made the empire in the OT so insidious was that it was a Nazi germany analogy… part of what made the emperor that much more evil was his racism.  There was a definite clean shaven white men only thing to that.  So I put the imperial officers who fit the old bill into the OT parts of the shelving and guys with facial hair get to go up with the expanded universe ones.

Agreed on the size of the helmet.  But I think a removable helmet will almost never look quite right since all of the AOTC troopers were digital characters - there was no need for the helmet to be functional and for an actual person to wear it.  If you look at some of the close up shots of troopers during the battle of Geonosis, it looks as if there's no way that helmet could be removed unless it split apart somehow.

But the one thing that's notably better here?  The visor on the helmet!  I don't know how Hasbro dropped the ball so badly on the phase II armor's visor.  Thankfully this looks a hell of a lot better.

I just wish they'd commit to doing swappable heads on any figure that needs a removable helmet. That way they can get both the normal head and the helmet in scale. Swappable heads also helps keep the helmet from getting warped and distorted. With the exception of maybe the Clone Commandos and the Boba Fetts, none of the other removable helmet figures haven't had some kind of an issue.

The two on the left look like they were released that way!  But the two on the right have a little too much facial hair to be convincing Imperials.  That's something that always gets me with some Imperial custom figures - too much facial hair.  The Empire always struck me as a bit too uptight for that sort of thing.

I get the same sense, too.

In keeping with Rob's comment in the other thread about Motti and Piett in Hoth rebel disguise, I look at the two on the right as rebels in Imperial disguise. In best sterotypical Fargo language: "Nothing to see here. We're just a couple of Imperial officers doing Imperial stuff, don'cha know." Haha.

@Rob - the face skin tone on the right-most looks a bit darker than the hands. If you care, maybe pair that noggin with the gloved hand?

Has anyone been to the parks recently?  I'm tempted to get another one of these.  I'm going later this year, and wonder if they might be available there or not.

I've had some decent experience with this seller's stands for both 3.75" and 6" figures.

Iain's Display Accessories

If you're looking for flight pose stands?  Hasbro Pulse has some.  And I've also seen some NECA stands at Target of all places - but in the collectibles section that's usually next to their electronics department.
