First they kill off Chewie before his time, then it's Mara!?

I just finished the book.....damn it anyways. I love Chewie, was my favorite character and bam-they kill him off, but I still have this new character - Mara Jade and now BAM again. I didn't even like the way she died - a poison dart??? Come on-a dart???? I knew she would end up dead as soon as I saw her on the cover of the book. I was hoping she would turn into a spirit form and come back to give guidence every now and again but no such luck. I was never a big fan of Karen Traviss's writing but she does a good job with Fett and family (which was about the only good thing about the book). Bah..... :'( :'( :'(

Post by: Ghost of QG on June 21, 2007, 02:43 AM: I have been reading EU sincethe Thrawn Trilogy, and IMO I don't mind them killing off characters. They have to die sometime. And if they escape EVERY situation, then there is no dramatic tension.

Post by: GrandMoffNick on October 31, 2007, 02:58 PM: Don't you think main characters need to die sometimes? I'll miss Mara and I miss Chewie but if no one important ever dies where is the drama. To say it's going down hill because people die makes no sense to me. Thankfully they aren't all written for 2 year olds.
