What the heck?
From yakface.com:
"I don't remember reading about this one, but I was actually
looking for the second series of clone wars figures from the
cartoon this morning and ran accross a couple of cases of
the series 1 that had all the Arc Troopers repainted in red."
http://home.comcast.net/~jawenig/ToyPics/ArcTrooperVariation.JPG
Check it out...
Will there be more down the road?

I saw this as well this morning. Surprising that we haven't heard of anything prior to this. My first thought was that it could be someone painting it and returning it to the store, but who knows. Hopefully they will release them in the red colors, it looks like they are shown that was in the cartoon at least.
-
Yea, that's a paint job, the skirt would be red also if it were the RED ARC Trooper!! Damn scams i hat that. That ARC looks so tacky like that, Red & Blue!
-
Most of me says this is crap...we haven't heard any rumors or seen any pics of these coming at all
While it is entirely possible, I would like some more proof
-
I wouldn't be surprised if it came to fruition, but that looks custom to me, personally.
Seeing as how t he ARC is the ONLY CW figure who sells out around here, I wouldn't mind a red one shipping sometime to make variation hunters help clear out the figure's production run.
Wish you could make Anakin and Yoda that interesting, but that appears to be for not and they'll be pegwarmers for quite some time.
-
I did a little looky around & found it on eBay.
RED ARC TROOPER 1 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3152731180&category=50263)
RED ARC TROOPER 2 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3152731243&category=50263)
RED ARC TROOPER eBay (http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&ht=1&from=R7&query=RED+ARC+TROOPER+&category0=&minPrice=&maxPrice=&ebaytag1=ebayreg&ebaytag1code=0&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&SortOrder=%5Ba%5D&st=0)
You decide! :-*
-
I just got home from Toy Hunting. I saw tons of the Series 1 of Clones but did not give them a look over. I did not know of a Red version of the ARC Trooper. Well, the next time I go out I will have to start looking for it.
Target just restocked the pegs with Series 1.
I did find Series 2 today at Wal-Mart! :)
Also picked up the Clone with Speederbike at Meijers. :)
Now my hunt will continue for the Red Clone Multipack and now the Red ARC Trooper.
-
A chap at GH.com says he got one at WM tonight...
So, the mystery continues (no photo), but could it be a running variation that nobody heard of. Like Scott said over in the aforementioned thread, it would be the first time in a LONG time that something snuck out without being leaked on the net boards first in a LONG time.
Like walking into the local 5 and 10 and finding the newest wave of G.I. Joes that you didn't even know were gonna come out! (I'm reminiscing about when I was little and would find new figures at the local department stores... Ah, the days before the net)
-
You said it, Jesse. It could also be a manufacturing goof that ends up paying dividends, but who knows.
-

That work for ya'? ;) I agree, one of the first figures I've heard of in a LONG time not being mentioned/confirmed on the boards prior to it hitting the domestic market here. Weird. But fine with me! 8)
-
Maybe it is just a production errror!
-
That's a BIG production error. ;D
I think, after this many different photos (thanks Matt) it's probably legit... I mean, imagine how many ARC's we have seen in stores. I'd not be surprised if they have hit the half-way point of their production run (The general mark where the "running change/intentional variation" is made) and now we'll see red ARC's.
The only problem is, will they ship with MORE Anakins and Yodas, or with Waves 2 and 3 of CW figures?
The ARC's are the ONLY CW figure selling out here. Every store has either no ARC troopers, or maybe 5 at most... Then Anakin and Yoda warm pegs. And people say Army builders don't sell well! ;)
Honestly, now I kinda wouldn't mind OTHER ARC variations. Like a green one or something... Then again, nobody knows what the ARC rank structure goes like so who knows if green or other colors even "exist". May be a fun custom product though!
-
I can't wait to get my hands on some of these! It's awesome! ;D
-
I am not sure what to think here. I like to think I'm on top of it all, but this is beyond me. I can say that I have not seen a legitimate source turn it up (i, e, Hasbro, Lee's, Tomart, Toy Fare...). You'd think that something this dramatic would receive more press than it has. It looks like a regular Clone Trooper dressed up with nowhere to go. It will be interesting to see if this is verified by Hasbro. They went out of their way to report to SW Insider all the Clone Army variations, why leave out this?
I'd say that ARC Troopers would be all the same color as they are elite force units and not necessarilly ranked beyond what they are. It would be like if the Green Berets had different berets to signify something. I'll keep my eyes open and am interested to know just how Hasbro explains or denies this one...
-
With rank or station being indicated by the bright stripes though, I can see this... The ARC's should, in theory, have their own rank structure for their own order/chain of command issues.
It'd be important for when they're in combat, incase C/O's are offed at some point.
-
I found a Red ARC Trooper several minutes ago at my local Wal*Mart here in mid-Michigan. So for me, this is officially NOT a hoax!
-
I heard from Hasbro's media relations department that it is in fact the real deal. I posted a story about it last night on http://www.thejawa.com/ (http://www.thejawa.com/)
-
Found a ton (well, 4, but thats a ton recently) of these out in Valencia, CA last Friday at Walmart. It looks like these will be available en masse.

J
Jared, you just bailed on me and moved out of the area, so stay away from MY Walmart and other stores, and enjoy your own new stores from now on! Lay off the Red ARC Troopers that I'm still looking for too. Thanks.
- M
P.S. Nice find. :-*
-
Well, technically, I still had rent paid on the old place, so I was entitled to that Walmart. In honor of reaping the spoils of your Walmart, Matt, I shall go home and roll around in the ARC Troopers, and laugh maniacally.
Now don't let me be catching you at the one near my new place! Oh wait, there isn't one :(.
;)

I just got my first one in a trade, and have "never" seen this at retail. Just curious Jared have you stumbled on more of these since this find?
I must say, this is one cool figure!
-Fish-
-
Heh, funny. The red version must be the Canadian version. It's the only one I've seen up here. :D
-
Well, I think Jared's conscience got the best of him (for raiding my Walmart), so he was kind enough to pass along a couple of the red ARC's to me. Aside from Ephant Mon, this is the only figure I've NEVER seen at retail...
Thanks a ton J. I owe ya' one bud! 8)

-
I want 2 of these bad boys, so I can re-enact the scenes from the CW cartoon!

JM,
Have you heard of any reports of people finding these in the L.A. area? Just curious.

This is priceless. I actually found something you didn't? LOL, I love it. Damn, I'm going to have to go shopping again tomorrow.
-
This figure is still a thorn in my side, and one of the only figures I've never seen at retail. I keep expecting them to finally trickle out, along with some more of the HTF CW wave 3, but alas, I've seen nothing.
Odd that Canada seems to have quite a plethora of them though. ???
-
I never saw this one at retail either, I was thinking this was gonna be a transition from blue to red ARC Trooper dealio like the battle droid going from tan in the start of the Saga line to red later on. Where are all these elusive red ARC troopers? I want one bad. O.k I want ten, BAD. ;)
-
Still looking...not going to pay eBay prices for one though.
-
These were a weird thing, never saw them in real abundance, but enough that I managed to pick up two of them. It was a neat thing these Red ARCs, I wish they surprised us more with little things like this (ala repainted Astromechs or head swapped Army Builders and Pilots)
-
Heh, funny. The red version must be the Canadian version. It's the only one I've seen up here. :D
So true. I bought 5 of them at Wally. I left 2 there. Should have picked them up also! :-\
-
I have noticed that the Red ARC is going anywhere from $10.-$25. on eBay! :o
-
I've still yet to see one. I guess it's one of those Ephant Mon type figures. They come and go. Oh well, I can always customize one of the normal blue ARCs.
-
I have one, it came out of a wave 1 CW case. There were only 2 in the case also. I haven't seen them since I picked up mine.
-
I still need one.Anyone have for trade?
-
A whole lot of people I know still need one or two of these. Definitely becoming one of the top 3 from the Saga line as far as overall scarcity goes. VHTF, most likely because it sounds like 90% of them wound up in Canada for some reason...
You guys still have any more floating around up there Brent or Dale?
-
There none in the stores up here. They came & went. I doubt Brent will find any either. :-\
-
Yeah,If any of you Canucks are willing to part with some of your Red ARC's your neighbors to the south would appreciate it.(Btw,I need two ;D)
-
Will keep an eye out but don't hold your breath. I didn't see any at the toy show yesterday either. :-\
-

Extremely doubtful. :-\
I picked up the only three I saw. Sent to to FEL (Matt) and so I only had one. Traded to get another and working on some more, but not holding my breath. Wouldn't mind a few more, nice fig.

Brent,
Thank you again. Opened one for my oldest sons army and have the the other carded.
-Fish-
-
My pleasure. The trade certainly worked in my favor as well.
I managed to pick up a couple more loose and one more carded. Now I have three loose plus my carded version. Always open to more, but that is enough to keep me happy. :)
-
I found one yesterday at a local grocery store for $3. Iv'e only seen it three other times though.
-
let me guess: you bought the other 3 and sent them my way right? ;D
-
So was anyone lucky enough to find a Red ARC since the last post? Found no more up here. :-\
-
I traded for a couple over the weekend.

I've found ZERO of this figure ever Dale... Unfortunately they were just a quick hit here in Pittsburgh and sold out... Same with the SA Clone but he did somehow linger long enough for me to grab one.
The SA Clone, reworked, would make such a great ARC... I really wish both had been more abundant because I'd loved to have made a SA ARC with relatively little effort. :)
-
I'm looking very forward to the red ARC animated fig!!!!!
-

Man, you said it. That would be so damn sweet. I'd love to see a new ARC using the SA Clone body, even more so after playing Battlefront non-stop for the past couple weeks.
-
I did see 3 Red ARC figures at the toy/cd fair yesterday, $25. CDN each! :-\
-
:(I have wanted to get this figure. Where can you find it if at all?
-
Ebay...
Or online stores perhaps, but likely just Ebay.
I never saw one in stores, sadly, and it's not something likely to be shipping in the near future short of them making an appearance in the new film.
Good luck on him.
-
Yep, you're pretty much stuck with eBay at this point. But it ain't lookin' too pretty there either, since the Red ARC's are generally coming in between $20-25 a piece. I was actually just on there the other night looking for some Blue ARCs for a local buddy, and noticed how crazy high the Red ones were still going for.
Never saw one at retail myself, but fortunately a friend did and he hooked me up with a couple. Oddly enough, most of them seem to have wound up in Canada, where they hardly got any of the Blue versions. Go figure. But the Red ones sold out up there long ago too...
Tough find, and probably going to be an expensive one, so good luck with your search!
-
Pursuant to our f2f conversation the other night, I looked at completed auctions and these are now going for $40.00.
Which is actually a good price point in value IMO as I never saw these at retail, ever.
Thanks Morbug!

I found one of these at Target ages ago, and that's the only one I've ever seen.
-
Saw one at an online store for $40, I was wondering if this is a good price for one?
-
Just checked completed on eBay, they range from $27. to $45. and that would depend on the bidders.
-
Wish someone had told me
They were selling for $15 Aus down here
And i just traded my last 2.

Holy snot :o that's insane. I wonder if I still have some of those around. I think I have 3-4 loose anyway :P
-
Loose goes for good coin:
Clone Wars loose Red ARC Trooper (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=751&item=5961573133&rd=1)
-
At these prices, I think it'd be cheaper to buy a regular ARC and paint it red.

Again :o Have to see what's lying around here. Or I may have to hold onto them to trade for some of the upcoming Target exclusives.
-
A long time ago I got one at Suncoast for about $7. But I'm not giving him up. :P ;)
-
when i found mine at target they actually had SIX on the pegs. i looked for the best paint job of the six and left five on the pegs. i thought they would become fairly common when there were still four left two days later. never saw them again. you just never know what figs will become elusive.
-
you just never know what figs will become elusive.
I guess so!!
I have a few to go with my battle scene and am really surprised at how much they are selling for. I never knew they were that hard to find.
-
One of the few figures I've never seen... Never picked one up, never saw one on pegs... Can't even trade for one it seems. Sort of a bummer since he was the more iconic one too, and I'd dig having one.
I plan to whip up my own, but I'd dig a CW one for my collection too of course.
-
I cant believe how much the carded ones are going for now. I guess I got lucky with the two that I got.
-
Wow, seems like a heck of a price jump. Glad I got me one from WM when I saw it. Never saw em again though.
-
This is the first of three figures I never found in the store. I got both of mine in trades.
-
my neck of the woods has always been bone dry. We haven't seen any ARC troopers, period and we didn't even get the last wave of the clone wars figs, so I missed out on kit, saesee, and the SA clonetrooper :-[
-
I never saw this figure either. I passed on the Clone Wars figures becuase i am an idiot and now i kind of want them. ::)
-
hi! i bought a RED ARC trooper & a Blue clone trooper for 10€ (13$) Each one in the TRU of Tenerife in the Canary Islands of Spain.
-
That's great! Buy as much as you can and start doing trades here. ;D
By the way I remember that Brian's Toys.com sell a unopened case (4x Yoda's, 4x Anakin's & 4x Red ARC Troopers) for less than $90.00. ???
And this thread look like this one (http://threads.rebelscum.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=149458&page=3&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1#149458) from that other s[/b][/i]ite. :P
Note: Is the Red Arc Trooper the next FF Weequay? ;)
-
Heheh, I like those raving, silly thread.
I found Red Arcs at the time - picked one up and left the rest on the peg, knowing they'd multiply like all of the regular Arcs. ::)
-
Well i finally got mine off ebay. Got it in the mail today. I paid a little more than i would have liked, but nothing insane.
-
I guess I got lucky with my red ARC. I went into Walmart one day and saw several pegs of them and grabbed two the first time. I came back the next day and grabbed another, opting to leave a few for others. Then I came back two days later and haven't seen one since.
I opened two of them and ended up selling one of them last year sometime.
-
I was lucky also on both the Red and Blue, and have 3 of each loose now. My son has 2 of each loosed so I guess we were spoiled here in Utah. I can remember walking in and seeing about 30 Blue's, and then a week or two later, seeing about 30 Red's. Everyone here got one that wanted one, and more got at least 3 because of the debate at the time of how many Jango had trained (3 blue's I always said).
-
Utah is where I got mine. And the only place I ever saw them.
-
I got my red in Cali right on the pegs in the front-this after I already had everything /didn't know about the color variant/ just thought it strange so,I purchased it. ???
Didn't buy the 'blue'- it just doesn't look 'blue' to me-just a little bluish gray compared to the original=had the opportunity/didnt buy it ::)
-
You have got to be ******** me. :o

One of the few things I know I never saw. Pissed me off to no end, and I still don't have one. If they'd make a GOOD Red ARC Trooper utilizing a SA Clone and just adding some accessories like a kama/holsters and that same rifle, I'd be pretty content but Hasbro's such a hive of douchebaggery that they miss this easy sell.
I'd buy blues and reds if they were "realistic" sculpts but accurate to the cartoon as far as their details (IE: not the CW version).
-
Damn that is alot of money. Glad i got one, which i still think was too high. I need a blue one still. ::)
-
Thanks to Brent, I got one in the mail today. :) Sweeeeet. That rounds out the CW line for me pretty much.
-
Damn, I passed on this when it was out and got all of them via e bay, needles to say I have paid a lot for these, if i come a cross a red for 20 or so I probably will get it.
-
When you wait(pass) / you're late ::)
-
yeah, you got that right.
-
i got tired of searching for this so i fell into the ebay trap and purchased one for $25 ::)
-

Late for dinner?
-

While that is over the retail for this figure, it's not a bad price.
-
In Canada I didnt even see a single CW figure aside from the animated Mace Windu...
Later in the year we went to disney world where the clones are plentiful.
I got the red Saga clone...it sucks but it was a birthday present from my little sister so its still nice to have.
I saw 2 reds and 5 blues and 4 SA CW clone troopers at a wal-mart down there, but it was on the top shelf, and back then I was short so I could grab em' and i had 90$ to spend, instead right as I had gotten a stool I thought it was in my grasp when some guy ran right infront of me and grabbed em' all.
It was a kick in the teeth, I meen hell I still dont have anything from the CW line... :'(
-
I lucked out and ordered one from KEBCO Toys before they lost it and stopped functioning... I think I paid ~$12 for it... Not sure as it was a few years ago. Anyway, I kept it on the card because before I found it at their store I made my own (which is pretty easy to do). (http://members.cox.net/mmcbride19/Customs/IMG_0471.jpg)
Behind him is my custom Bly since I was impatient with finding him too. Now I need to put the brown stripes on him...always a work in progress...
-
I bought one of these on ebay not to long ago. I think I payed about 30$ for it.
-
My god those prices.
Guys, without a doubt put out feelers on the boards here if you need stuff. I got my Red ARC off one of the forum members. And remember your local groups are your friends. If you haven't sought out who you're competing with at the stores, do so, because my local group has found a lot of goodies for me plus they're some of my best friends I'm proud to say at the Pittsburgh and more broadly the PSWCS groups.
But ouch, $30 just hurts me to hear it... Definitely throw out lists to see if people have what you want in our classifieds/trading area. I've gotten a LOT of help and done as much as I can to help out... Red ARC was one I couldn't find either but it IS possible to find just for on the cheap through trading if you can't find it "out there".
-
I was lucky enough to find one of these bad boys when they were plentiful in Canada. That was back in the day when I was only collecting carded, so I didn't bother to buy another - now I'm looking for a loose one too. I'm just trying to be patient and wait for the right opportunity.
-
Plentiful...in Canada?
Does that even qualify as a sentence?
I didnt even see any Clone Wars figures over here.
