Saga '02-'04 / Re: Jedi Points? Your Prediction
« on: July 17, 2003, 11:47 AM »
The way I see it is this....

If they're going to do this promotion, it has to be on some level where children can get in on it.

Meaning, if I was 8 years old, I probably wouldn't have the means to save up 3000 jedi master points.

So, if it was say a figure, it would have to cost around 100 or 200 points max for a child to be able to get it.

So I hope they make something where we can order multiples.

Quite frankly, I'd prefer that it either be something completely exclusive - prefereably an army builder, OR...

Commtech stormtroopers - because then I'd be happy getting more than 1.  Because i have around 3500 JMPs and I'm sure many of you guys have even more than that.

If they do make something that costs 1000 or more points, that's fine with me, but it would make lots of people upset (carded collectors, kids).

After those new images,it looks like they're trying! :) :D

Yep, those figures are so good looking, it almost makes up for the creation of Durge  ;)

Here we go it is the guy sitting next to our buddy who I would guess is the other Dignitary they are making not the one I want on the far right

A few years ago I used to play in this band and we had some star wars images in the CD artwork....

Anyways, I wanted to use the above picture as a 'band' picture, and just put our five names across the bottom.

For some reason, it never happened...

Hopefully eventually we can get all 5 of these guys, but I'm just thrilled for now that we're getting one, and a second one is just icing on the cake.

These are all fantastic.

Looks like hasbro really is starting to go all out on figures again - thank goodness for non-movie years.

They really did the dignitary justice with that sculpt.

But of course, now I want them to make the other dignitaries :)

KBZ's ten points to success:

- Redistribute in appropriate quantities all of the 2003 product since many didn't get it.

- More obscure characters, with good sculpts and lots of articulation.

- Finish the OT vehicles, all we really need is a cloud car, escape pod, sandcrawler and sail barge.

- Sith Infiltrator.

- Keep the screen scenes comin'.

- Get cantina wave 2 out - and get us a U-shaped piece for the bar.

- Find something GOOD to do with the 4000 jedi master points most of us have collecting dust in a drawer somewhere.

- Playsets / dioramas - and large ones, with movie accuracy.

- limit the rehashes and more importantly the repacked figures - some of us are compulsive and buy everything even though we already own it - please don't take advantage of us :)

- Hermie Odle.

Of course, I'll buy whatever they put out pretty much regardless.... :P :-[

My review of this film (previously posted at the scum):

"Pirates of the Carribean will do for the high seas what The Mummy did for ancient Egypt."

I think it will probably be dumb - but it could be, and hopefully will be, fun all at the same time.

Some of the finest SW collecting folks and discussion on the net!  Very civil and mature too, which is quite refreshing considering some of the alternatives.  Looking forward to seeing your thoughts around the joint here!

That's why I'm here  :)

Thanks for the welcome  8)

Duh, I knew that!  Sorry, it's been a while and I forgot...  Rob it is then!

And I didn't mean that you couldn't bring Pete over, just that you would have no need for him here really!   ;)

BTW, what are you doing out in Dallas now?  Finish up school in Florida, and headed out to the "real world" (or just back home)?

I'm from Tampa, graduated from the University of Florida, and moved to Dallas 2 weeks ago - hopefully I'll be interning at a really cool place soon - and probably working at a crappy one at the same time - more on that if it pans out.  So basically yes, I'm moving out into the 'real world.' :)

If things don't go well, I'm going to apply for Texas residency and try to get into UT next year.

And Virex, thanks again.

I'm from tampa and am a Bucs fan.

I know how tough it is to repeat in this day and age, but the bucs can do it and I think WILL do it IF they can get the running back situation resolved.

Because:

Improved offense
Defense that lost 2 starters - and replacements were UPGRADES.

Jon Gruden - he brings consistency to the table as far as coaching goes - he's won three straight division championships with two different teams.
