Blah...not sure if this is worth it as it will eventually be the same as last year.
By my count we got only 1 of the entire list of 80...Han Carbonite. And I think people actually would have wanted a Han Pre Carbonite as well like we got a few times before...ugh
-
Gonna be a tough year but I think it's always worth the effort. As of right now a 3.75" line exists for collectors, so I say it's always worth it then. Last year's a hard barometer given all the f-ups.
-
Expanded Universe one will really be a waste of time...let's do it!

As would Clone Wars. Nevertheless....
-
We should do a 6" version wishlist... just limit the choice to 2-4 characters.
-
I think 10 figures is alright for 6 inch... isn't that a year of figures in that line anyway?
-
I think this is the year I stop playing the "who else can I put on my list to get it to ten names" game.
With the current delicate state of the Hasbro 3.75" Star Wars line, I don't think I can in good faith lobby Hasbro to add someone like Erdan or Jira into the line. :-\

Looks like RotJ's "Rebel with Nice Hat" has officially been reclassified as one of Jabba's Henchman:
For story:

(and thanks to Yak)

And that makes him even less likely to be made into figure form than before.
-
I didn't realize everyone thought he was an Endor Commando? I never really did. I was a hipster of knowing he wasn't an Endor Rebel I guess. :P

I didn't realize that anyone didn't think that he was. Considering that every single time that image was printed he was identified as a rebel.
It's little things like this that make me want a figure of some characters. I had no desire for this guy before but now that he has this long history of being misidentified I would very much like a figure of him.
-
I always figured he was a cast-off chracter, but never figured he was a Rebel... There was a little outfit continuity among them, and there's scenes where you can see them all... He was never anywhere. I figured at best he was a dropped design.
-
I always figured he was a CCG designer who made a character of himself.
-
The CCG's really blurred a lot for people, yes. :)
-
The CCG is one of the few places that didn't misidentify him because they never made a card of him.
-
Any chance that we might be able to revise our TPM lists if R5-X2 winds up getting confirmed in some sort of multipack/exclusive, Scott?
-
What I do is if a figure is announced, the 11th figure on the list moves up a spot...there is no revoting
-
I get the sense that the wind may have been taken out of the sails of this year's wishlists. Any chance that we'll be moving on from the AOTC list?
-
Really hoping that SDCC knocks the ball out of the park and gets us some wishlist figures this Winter/next Spring. So tired of seeing the same figures over and over and over and over and over again on these lists (Kitster/Wald, Cliegg, Mosep, Doallyn, Slim Aloo, Toryn Farr, etc).
If SDCC once again gives us nothing new this year, there may be no point in doing the lists next year. :(
-
Yeah I am really bummed about this as there were no new figures made off of the list from last year when in a typical year there are between 10-20. It is amazing how bad the TPM 3D effort totally screwed over the line as I really think we would have gotten some cooler AOTC and ROTS figures this year
-
Agreed... The figure selection has been bad. I blame a lot of it on just these huge assed gaps. Imagine if by now things had been flowing as normal? Might've been some cool stuff in BAD once that initial AOTC wave passed. Maybe not. Either way the dry span here has pretty much killed the hobby for many.
I'm into new stuff, but I'm with Jeff and Scott... That initial Black Series wave is pretty meh compared to what I now want. I know there's several of those I don't blan on getting at this stage. Not for what they want.
I'm anxious for NEW or resculpts of REALLY old stuff. Mosep for sure. He's my top Cantina alien... If they did Lafoe I'd go nuts. A new Antilles, some new Endor Rebels, the Snaggletooth from Jabba's Palace, Sgt. Doallyn... Hell I 'd be into a resculpt of any of the 3-pack Cantina aliens except I guess Snaggletooth now. Nabrun Leids done now though? Bet he'd be awesome.
-
There where a few that got taken off the lists last year but they got taken off before the championship round.
No CW this year? Makes sense. Your going to let us vote for them in the EU poll?
-
I'm actually pretty happy to vote in ROTS... I could think of quite a few resculpts I'd buy, and CLone Commanders are in my top 10. ROTS I just dig more, as a movie, than the previous two...
I'd kinda dig a Clone Wars vote since they ARE doing realistic, and I hear things, that CW realistic isn't dead by any means to Hasbro. :-\
That said, I see where the votes were largely ignored too... Last couple years, Hasbro's had everything so jumbled, I think it's inevitable though and hopeful it'll be getting straightened around with new movies and things kind of now sinking into place. Maybe a bit more stability in that regard will be a boon to the line as a whole.
-
So Merumeru FINALLY shows up on a figure rumor list for this year or early next year? I've had him on my ROTS wishlist ever since the movie came out. Still, I'm skeptical that it's actually happening.
-
Are we going to do any CW or EU ones? I realize that these are usually done before SDCC and we hand the Tournament of Champions list to a Hasbro rep so it's probably pointless to do. Still these are fun.
-
Yes..probably not CW but we will do a 6" one
I've been swamped with life...sorry for not getting er done
-
Swamped with life! Not acceptable... to some folks. ::)
-
Swamped with life!
That's what happens when there aren't any toys to collect. ;) Seriously, though: hope all's well in the family, Scott.
I figure there wasn't much hurry to do these since there wasn't much coming out that knocked any one off the lists, etc.
-
It's when life starts trumping the toys that are there, that it sucks, haha. :)
-
Still time to vote in the OT polls...I notice ROTJ has lots less votes than others
-
Note Merumeru and Sarrisa Jeng each cracked the top 10 of their respective polls...they have been removed due to recent photo evidence.
-
Merumeru getting knocked off (finally) opens a slot on my list and I think I'll join Jesse's "we need a new Bly" campaign...
1 ) Commander Bly Resculpt (rem. Helmet, more articulation... Be cool if he had his Clone Wars funky hairstyle & Helmet ala TVC Fordo)
With Gree (2008), Bacara (2008), Cody (2009), and Neyo (2013) getting resculpts/upgrades, Bly does sort of stand as the last "odd man out" in need of an upgrade. :-\
-
Definitely glad about Merumeru finally getting confirmed. Finding someone from ROTS to take that place on my own top ten list is going to take some thought. But I'm definitely down with getting behind a Tarfful resculpt now.
-
Gree getting a new CW style headsculpt with the funky hair would actually get me to rebuy him. :-[
-
Huh, I guess Sgt Doallyn is now called Brock Starsher
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Brock_Starsher
-
Yeah, since no one changes clothes in the Star Wars universe, the palace guy in the helmet and the skiff guy in the same helmet are two completely different people.
-
No, Doallyn is still Doallyn. It is the unnamed skiff guard, that people mistook for Doallyn, that has been named Brock Starsher.
If they had been the same person the short story that originally named Doallyn would have had to have been completely thrown out, since in it he didn't leave the palace and survived. Pretty hard to retcon that with being gutted and falling into the Sarlacc as the same person.
-
As if histories of SW character have never been retconed.
-
That short story should've been thrown out, along with the entire book it was in. I think that and the cantina book turned me off the EU for a long time.
-
Still going to do the EU poll?
-
With the reveal of Torryn Farr...only 6 figures remain to close out the "Named on every Wishlist since 2005" List
Cliegg Lars
Torryn Farr
Tey How
Sgt Doallyn
Kitster/Wald
Sim Aloo
-
Also interesting...with Farr and Snowspeeder Wedge if you go back to the original 2005 poll...only 5 figures remain of all the ones people wished for:
Admiral/Captain Piett Resculpt
Wiorkettle
Treva Horme
Lee Phenets
Hobbie (Snowspeeder)
Hobbie was made but in X-Wing form...so that one is sort of an asterisk
General Veers
Major Bren Derlin
Bespin Guard
Ice Cream Maker Guy
Zev
Luke Skywalker (Frigate)
Captain Needa
Torryn Farr
Lando (Smuggler)
Princess Leia (Frigate)
Hoth Rebel Soldier
Dack Ralter
Hobbie
Snowtrooper
Han Solo (Torture)
Hoth Soldier (Echo)
Luke Snowspeeder
Ugnaught
Probe Droid
Imperial Naval Trooper
Admiral Piett
Wes Janson
Treva Horme
Wiorkettle
E-3PO
Wedge
4-LOM
Han Carbonite
Han Hoth
R5-M2
Moff Jerjerrod
Princess Leia (Hoth)
AT-AT Driver
Darth Vader (holo)
Lee Phenets
Utris M'Toc
Zuckuss
Luke Skywalker (Bespin)
-
I guess E-3PO would also be asterisked since it was a platinum variant of U-3PO. I don't think the variant was officially called E, but in my world he is.
-
Yeah he more or less is done in my book...nobody asks for E-3PO anymore
-
I think I've been using a tc14 for hkm
-
I wonder how the next round of polls will go? With Hasbro being told no more EU from LFL, and focusing more on OT than PT, will that change things here? We'll be adding a 'Rebels' category at some point, of course. Maybe we could vote your top 5 per prequel films, 10 for 'Rebels' and 15 per OT, with the usual ToC. This is Scott's baby, but just an idea I'm throwing out.
