Movie is boring, but I'll take whatever tidbits (heheh) that are on offer.

Actually, I thought the movie was pretty good. Decent story, although after all these years of watching movies, I saw through the plot and had it all figured out after the first, say 20 minutes. I think the last movie that really faked me out was The Sixth Sense. Didn't see that one coming.

The kids at school ruined the 6th Sense for me. :(

I take it you haven't seen it?  :) It's completely low budget pre-South Park days stuff from Matt/Trey. If you like their other stuff, you'll probably find this pretty damn funny. Basically a cult movie at this point, really.

The deal with the disc was it never saw a DVD release after its theatrical run about 6 years ago, then was announced a year or two ago as a 2-disc SE, then the company publishing it was engulfed by Universal, and it's been in limbo ever since. It still has a lot of the features, including a drunken commentary from Matt/Trey, so it should be a nice treat to finally have.

I've had to make do with a UK PAL version for the last 4 years and it's bare bones.

I am looking forward to this release next week, been along time since I saw the show on TV. It has never aired up here on our Sci-Fi channel.
I think Matt will like to have this just to see Erin Gray...

FYI:

The deepdiscountdvd.com semi-annual 20% off sale is on now. Enter the code "supersale" at checkout to have an additional 20% taken off of the already discounted price (this isn't 20% off retail, it's 20% off items that are already 20-40% off retail). Best deal all year. Lasts until the 20th.

I'm really pissed that I'm just not flush with cash right now. I need to load up on some boxsets.

Edit: You can also use NYTIMES and DEEPDISCOUNT as the code.

It's been ages since i've seen anything about Buck
I found a bunch of trading cards of his and got me thinking
I ended up buying the Battlestar Galactica series and thought that held up alright over time, although i worry that ol Buck there won't
I rushed out and got Battle of the Planets and am kinda regretting it , i remember it to be a bit cooler, but hey i'm sure it was cool 20 odd years ago
The problem with America is stupidity I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself

I went ahead and made an order at the Deep Discount DVD sale...

Ordered:

Jane Austen the COmplete Collection Boxed Set (for the girlfriend)
Ju-On
1984
Beverly Hills Cop II
Beverly Hills Cop III
Fire in the Sky
The Atomic Cafe

Just around 80$ total - not bad at all.

Fire in the Sky

Let me know how that DVD is. The movie, and the quality. I remeber seeing ad's for it in comic books, and such, but being to afraid to see it alone.

It's not a new release, but I scored Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 6 at Target for $30. Not bad. The sale ends tomorrow.

Now, to score some cheaper Angel sets...
