Divisional:
Pats over Jags
Colts over Chargers
Cowboys over Redskins
Packers over Bucs

Everyone's picking these four this week.  What's your confidence level in each?  Any potential upsets? I'm a little more worried about Seattle upsetting Green Bay and The Giants looked pretty good, so there's some potential to upset Dallas with Romo not doing so well towards the end of the season and Owens banged up...

POTC?  Really?  I was wondering who was buying that stuff, Ryan!  ;)

F08 Collecting:

Anything Hasbro makes in the 3 & 3/4" line x2 and vehicles.
 Marvel Legends Avengers figures
Maybe a few ML/DC figures that catch my attention
Any transformers that fit into the 80s lineup/alternators scale
Some SW Kubricks (Cheap, OTC figs only)

I think that's it - should be a light year.   ;D

You should have just used the site to store thing.  Worked pretty well for me last time I used it.  I've yet to crack open my Screamer yet, guess I'm waiting for my Megs first.   :-\

I did this a little over a week ago, but have yet to be notified that WM got it in.   >:(  Hope it still comes, what with it already being paid for and all.   >:(  >:(  >:(

This has probably been discussed, but the locals are saying they found $7.57 prices for basic figures at our local Targets - presumably it is the new sticker for 2008 product.

At a few of the price testing stores mentioned above, we had Saga/Legends figs at 7.64 for most of last year, so could be just this subset of stores using that price.  Never made sense to me that they would put Legends $.65 higher than the basic line, which was being priced at $6.99 in those stores.  ::)

Target has a set grouping of stores in each region that test higher pricing versus their other stores in the area.  We have 30+ Targets around Minneapolis and you can clearly locate the test stores, which are often 5-10 miles away from a store with lower prices.

There is an initiative to comp to Wal-Mart, but they are also just testing sales rates at different prices.  If they found that profit improved despite a volume decline, they would then have rationale to increase prices across all stores.  Nifty way to test higher pricing, but frustrating for consumers who prefer to shop at the HP stores.

I usually don't let it affect my purchasing if I find something rare, but I try to not buy common stuff at the pricier stores and always try to make my returns to those stores to put them at a disadvantage.

I wonder if there are going to be any rules reguarding the UPC's, because it'd be funny if someone sent Hasbro a bunch of UPC's with Jedi Master Points on them. Hopefully we won't have to buy "specially marked" UPC's because I've got about 20 sitting around right now.

I'm pretty sure the form said something about the UPCs needing to come from TAC or Legends figures, so anything prior to those wouldn't be valid.  Doesn't look like they are requiring a receipt, which is very cool, since that always seems to be a major hassle.

Can anyone PM me where they are getting these from?  I ran a qucik search on ebay and didn't see any, but would be interested in getting some without weapons for the right price...

Blah blah blah.  This week's NFC games were totally pointless, seing as how the PAckers are going to the SuperBowl.

Amen.  I do really like these the more I look at them, but I wish it was a better value. They could easily have included a third trooper or made the set $15 instead of $20.  Oh well, I will buy at least two regardless.   :-\

Anyone have a good theory on why so many of these sets have been showing up loose without their weapons?

Don't know anything about the sellers, but a couple of heavy overseas sellers appear to get factory rejects/extras.  I assume they either work there or know someone who does.  Not a big stretch to find something similar happening at the Mediacom production facility.

Star Tours Rex was my first thought as well. I think it woul dactually be awesome if it turns out to be him on the show. Nice way to tie everything in together.

Okay, I can't believe all the votes for the Star Tours Rex figure.  If we can use our 2007 UPCs, then I'm hoping to army build.  I would much rather army build a repaint clone than a platoon of Star Tours Rex's.   :P

If there really is a BAF initiative underway,, then I'm most anxious to hear about this.  30 figures is a pretty big requirement, so hopefully this is really multiple BAFs.  :o

Looks like a cool set, though I'm a little bummed that it will probably cost $20 for two figs and two mini-vehicles.  The usual BPs have 5 characters - I'd much rather get three more figs than two hoth Speederbikes.   :P

Yeah, but we got a similar treatment with the Wal-Mart Exc. "Treachery on Saleucami" BP. That one was $20.

I didn't really think that one was worth $20 either.  :-\  At least it came with two "new" figures and was the first of its kind.  I wonder if the two troops will be identical?  If so, maybe I can live with just getting one loose and splitting the pack with someone.  ;)

For me, Clone Wars gets the edge over TFU.  I like that it was mentioned in the movies, but I'm also into all the EU stuff.  I don't think TFU is that much of a stretch...it has been mentioned in multiple sources that both Vader and the Emperor secretly used other force sensitive apprentices.  Vader was looking for an apprentice to overthrow Palpy, and Palpy had other apprentices available should Vader need to be replaced (Hello, Mara Jade anyone?).

I think its a cool concept, as is the Vector cross-timeline story just starting up in the Dark Horse comics.  But at the end of the day, the Clone Wars is just a cooler concept.  An army of Jedi and and clones equipped for countless battle situations? Fighting a plethora of different droids? Local armies on both sides?  Can't get much cooler than that.  Unless of course, everything is release in skittles color variations.   ::)
