how about an internet exclusive raffle? only registered users of the secret forum section of the duplex can order it... and then it will be a raffle to see which lucky 8 or so get the chance to stand on line at c3 to get it?

Interesting concept.

Keep in mind, though--not all eight are going to be going to the fans.  I mean, I'm getting one, John Hollis is getting one, and I'm sending one to Cory, free of charge.

So that only leaves about five for the fans.

We've got some time to think about what would be the most fair thing to do.

I like your idea, though--maybe make the raffle available only to members of the new "Lobotspace" section of the Duplex?

Lobotspace--very cool, by the way.  $149 a year, get exclusive news articles, features, the official Lobot's Duplex quarterly, not to mention the best of all:  The Exclusive John Hollis Shower-Cam!  Yes, now you, too, can watch as our man John shaves his head every other day.  Best of all, it's totally live!  It's like you're actually there!

Sorry, Dale, this offer is not going to be available to Canadians.  In fact, it's available only to legal residents of Portland, Oregon.

But, have no fear--you've got plenty of time to move.

Well, good news--we may be doing something with Hasbro to rectify that.

How many Jedi Master Points do you have left?

Hey, I don't know.  Doesn't make much sense to me, either.  I say, take it up with the guys up in Rhode Island.

All I know is, we need to do whatever we can do to get this incredibly special collectible in the hands of as many fans and collectors as possible.

If that means "bending the rules" on the points a little bit, then so be it.

I just checked the hit counter...700,000 hits since The Dupe reopened its doors last Friday.  Chris Berry is now doing his Scrooge McDuck dive into his money swimming pool

The re-opening was probably a bigger deal than the Episode III title announcement.

(Still waiting to see a blurb about it on the main page. . .)

Speaking of which, now that JD's hosting the site, when do I get my weekly column, where I get to show off my "Star Wars 'humor'" in writing?  You know, make these "witty" observations about how much TRU sucks, or how unfair all the exclusives are, etc.

I was thinking of calling it "Lobot's Lingo".

Let me know when I can submit my first article!

RIP John Hollis aka Lobot
« Reply #134 on: November 4, 2005, 01:40 AM »
From TheForce.net:

John Hollis, known to Star Wars fans as Lobot from Bespin, recently passed away.

Info passed on from Ken DAlessio:

John Hollis, who played Professor Sondergaard in the Jon Pertwee serial "The Mutants," died on October 18 in London of natural causes. Hollis had an extensive career in science fiction roles, including
on "The Tomorrow People," "Blake's 7," "Adam Adamant Lives,"

"The Avengers," "A For Andromeda" and in the films "Flash Gordon," the "Superman" series and "The Day of the Triffids," and is perhaps best known to fans as Lando Calrissian's aide Lobot in "The Empire Strikes Back".

You can catch up with is long career over at IMDB.

Jeez, another OT actor is gone. I know they aren't going to be around forever but they are going too fast now. Rest in Peace John.

I remember my dream now.
