Hey! Glad to see you made it over here. But, here's a suggestion. You might want to meld them all together into a "Tr1er's Customs" thread. It's what most people do over here, and it makes to forum easier to read. I like all your customs man.
Title: Re: 327th Star Corps!
Post by: CHEWIE on January 4, 2006, 10:12 AM
Good work, I agree that you might want to meld them together here so we can sort through each others' customs easier, and there's no limit to the number of replies in a thread here like there is elsewhere.-

It's nice to see you here, and the weathering on these looks great.  Are you going to weather Bly a little to match them more, and are you planning on making a Felucia diorama for them?

 :P

Looks good, I take it that's the #6 sculpt?  Good painting and weathering.

Post by: CHEWIE on January 4, 2006, 10:14 AM
I like how you created a fan-fic look for Gree, it's nice to see the creativity.  The BARC Trooper looks good too, hard to believe they haven't released that yet as a SA figure.

 :P
Title: Re: Clone Commander Fin
Post by: CHEWIE on January 4, 2006, 10:15 AM
That's a cool design.  I'm not one who typically likes the underwater figures because it just seems less Star Wars like, but that doesn't take away from the figure.  Excellent job on the tubes.

 :P
Title: Re: Elite Corps Clone Sniper and Recon Clone
Post by: CHEWIE on January 4, 2006, 10:17 AM
The really look cool, especially the shoulder pauldron thing.

I might suggest painting them more of a solid color because for some reason I think they shouldn't have so much (or any) white showing through, but that's just a personal preference thing.  You still did a great job on painting them and they blend in well with their environment.

 :P
Title: Re: Elite Corps Clone Sniper and Recon Clone
Post by: Gregorbian on January 4, 2006, 11:55 AM
I like them, I don't mind the white showing through the armor, it's kind of like they did the painting right before going into battle or something.
What did you use to make that Ghillie (sp?) suit?

I like the paint schemes on these guys, unique but with definite ties to Gree and his troopers.
Title: Re: Clone Commander Fin
Post by: Gregorbian on January 4, 2006, 11:57 AM
Nice work!  The tubes came out very well - are they shoelaces or something?  I might need to pick some up.
The only thing that I can think of is to try to clean up his eye-visor a bit - some of the blue paint leaked onto visor area.  Other than that, it looks great!
Title: Re: Commander Gree and Barc Trooper
Post by: Gregorbian on January 4, 2006, 11:59 AM
Clever Clone Commander repaint.  I'm sure Gree might have worn that getup at some point during the Clone Wars.
I like the camo pattern, it turned out well.

Wow, those lines are very clean and crisp, nice work!

Yup, very steady just on the lines. I don't hasbro version had those details.

This is how I think Gree should have looked in the movie. He be a much more kick ass figure if they did him this way.
Title: Re: Clone Commander Fin
Post by: Phrubruh on January 4, 2006, 12:21 PM
Sweet! I scuba diver clone. I like the shoelaces for hoses. I wonder how would a scuba diver get his armor this scratched up underwater? Does he keep scratching himself up on coral or rocks?  What would have been cooler is to keep him clean but add a nice gloss cote. That will make him look like he is wet. Maybe add some drips from a hot glue gun to simulate dripping water.

I commented about this guy over at CC. The backpack and sholder pads are very cool. I like all of the gi joe type accessories. The paint job is top notch.

all of your clones look nice, good detailing and clean lines.

like the others said, it would be much nicer & easier to read/view if you could put all your customs into one thread. maybe a mod could combine all the threads into one for you.

It is from GI Joe Crosshairs from a year or so ago

Hey thanks for all of the kind words guys I'm glad that you all enjoy them. Yeah I know what you guys are sayen about Bly but out of 4 Bly's I needed to keep one clean. ;D

Ok so ya'll cats just continue to post your new customs in the same thread? never done that before but I guess I can do that just for my new friends here at JD!  ;)

Master_Phruby you can try but you can't hide from me!

Thanks again guys I'm really liking the cool vibe over here.

Man it's great to some of my favorite SW customizers here as well. thanks for the great feedback guys. I might go back into the lab and fix a few things I missed on them.
Title: Re: Clone Commander Fin
Post by: TR1ER on January 5, 2006, 02:42 AM
Hey thanks guys I really did not know what I was going to do when I made this one. I had the left over parts and looked at the back pack and thought to myself hell why not. ;D

Gregorbian, you know that rope thingy that comes with the Clone commanders? thats what I used for the air tubes they were a perfect fit after I drilled the holes in the helmet.

Master_Phruby, actualy those are not scratches on his armor. it's supposed to be algae. you ever look at a fish tank and see algae build up on the rocks and stuff? that was the look I was going for. I guess being in the water as much as they would be iy would grow on their suits in time.  ;)

Thanks guys glad you like him. what I thought was going to be a simple repaint turned out to be hell. those damn lines damn near killed me! >:(
I had to use blue painters tape just to get those damn lines just right. to tell you the truth I do not think I'll make one of those again!  ;D

Title: Re: Commander Gree and Barc Trooper
Post by: Clone Hunter on January 6, 2006, 05:30 AM
Gree looks good and follows rhe trend for commanders, but it makes sense for a commando type, to travel light.

The Barc is an idea, I hope to use as well, I just didn't get the figure in yet.

The onlt criticism I can offer is that these guys look dirty as if they were splashed and the grime fell off of the edges on the armor, not camoflaged.

How Did I Miss this I don't know.I like it.Nice concept.A little darker and thats how he should of been in the movie!

p.s. I just got an Idea for articulation ..... get a dremel..a "nail thin" drill bit,a cutter attachment and a few nails.   Cut at an angle on the legs for them to move.Drill holes in both parts cut down a nail and put it in. Do the same for the arms   something like hasbros attempt.

That's pretty cool.  Personally, I am more partial to Stikfas, but that's just me  ;)
How big are shockinis in comparison to Star Wars figures?  It looks like the Clonetrooper helmet is pretty accurate in scale

Again, Good Job T!!! :)  I love the clone helmet and the fact that is sits so well on the shockini.  :)  I have found that I like the way the shockini's are put together better than the stikfas...wait, you have to put the stikfas together and you don't the shockini's..that could be why!!!

Anyways, love it!

I like the Vader's Fist badge...nicely done.

Nice stuff Tr1er, I really like the use of the WH40K decals, I think I might have to try that on some customs.

I think it would be cool if you gave them some sort of mini-lightsabers (light daggers?) instead of full-sized lightsabers, but they look cool with the full-sized ones.  That robe looks great, did you make that or is that an existing robe?  Man, I really need to learn how to sew...

I think so too, but I think you miss the symbolism.

Lightsabers are a symbol of a cult they are trying to wipe out. I do not think Vader would give a clone a saber. Let us not forget he grew to HATE the Jedi order.

Post by: TR1ER on February 26, 2006, 01:23 AM
What up my peoples time for a new clone custom! I was looking at my bacarra and thought to myself man Hasbrow really messed up a great figure.
After some thought I figured what the heck I might as make a new one with one of my extras. I went with a to hell and back look to him. this is how I thought he would look after coming back from a mission all dirty and battle scuffed. with all of the things blowing up and stuff I figured there would be a lot of dirty snow and thats how he would look dried up.
I also decided to go with a removable helmet I dremeled out Bacarras helmet to fit the head from the ATTE gunner and I think it came out great. well I hope you guys enjoy the pics!

Just thought I would share this with you guys. I was at menards durring the week with the wife looking for some paint for the house. so I went by the Dremel section like I always do at any tool store and saw this 10 pc. burr set. I thought to myself these might come in handy one day, and as you can see they did! I think I paid no more than $6.00 for the set was not much.

I used the one on the left to start things off and used the little round one to finnish the inside.

This is a great little set to add to your tool of the trade when making customs.

What up my peoples it's ya boy T to tha back again with some clone goodness. Here we have a Ultra Super Articulated Commander Bly w/ Removable helmet and soft goods Kama  :D. A custom that I thought was going to be quick and easy took me 2 damn days to make!

For starters I had to Dremel the hell out of that Clone Commander helmet to fit the ATTE Gunners head. I also had to shave down the Head a bit just so that the head would fit the helmet. and trust me it is a tight fit. but I think he came out well I hapy with it and I hope that you all enjoy him.

Parts:
Head: ATTE Gunner
Helmet: Red Clone Commander
Shoulder Pauldron : Red Clone Commander
Mid section to neck joint: #41 SA Clone trooper
Belt w/ Holsters and : Red Clone Commander with soft goods Kama
Waist to knees : ATTE Gunner
Knees down : #41 SA Clone Trooper

NIce work. The soft good kama really works. Youve out done yourself on this one. I have no idea how you got all those parts to fit together so seamlessly. Your weathering is always top notch. I like the removable helmet on this one, that was the perfect touch. Tr1er you da man!

I think I would have kept the helmet on his head. I really hate that hasbro head and its stupid expression. Great custom though dispite the head. A nice softgood skirt works well here. It would be nice, however,  to see a few scratches on the yellow painted armor. There are alot of scratchs on the white areas but the yellow paint is still perfect.

I like the custom Bly overall, except the weathered scratching.

Be careful with this figure, The clone comander helm dremeled out is a tough one to get on and off, I had a clone with a helmthat was a CC and well after a few removals of his helm , His head came clean off in side the helm and even sticking the head on the neck post and pulling doesn't work the head just pops off again. :-\
