Star Wars Action Figures / Re: CUSTOM CONTEST IS HERE PLEASE READ

Ok, I'm in. Because the "new figure" rule has been cancelled, I'm currently ready to paint one of my WIPs from earlier this year.

Downloaded CMR Dirt2 this afternoon and did a couple of laps on the Baja and Morocco tracks. Pretty fun, but I think I'll save my money for GT5.....

Haven't seen them, but apparently Let'z Zep's so good, they performed live at the release of Mothership.

Another cover band that really impressed me, is The Perfect Tool. Saw them for a couple of buck in the hottest and smallest of venues, but they're good. Even the members from Tool applaud their performances. Says enough.

I've been attending concerts and festivals ever since my brother convinced me to go to the Dynamo Open Air festival here in Holland in '95. Well, with the likes of Fear Factory, Machine Head, Life of Agony, Type O'Negative and an infamous one time performance by Nailbomb, I quickly became addicted to live music.

Anywho, I got a ticket to the Wolfmother concert in Amsterdam (which sold out in minutes) on Oct. 15, Let'z Zep in March (THE Zep coverband) and Machine Head/Hatebreed/Bleeding Through/All Shall Perish in February.

Late August I attended a German festival called Area4, featuring Deftones, Life of Agony and Faith No More. Here's a couple of pics from that event. Yes, there are scantily clad ladies, because it was scorching hot  :P

Excellent work, Phruby. He looks much more like an Imperial trooper now. Those GI Joe bands for the neck rings look great! Did it take many layers of white to get him this pristine?  ;)

Now, go paint up the gun as well  ;D

This is cool. Although I find it difficult to find time to participate on a regular basis in the (now bi-monthly) Yakfinities, I do support things like that. I'm happy to say I am currently involved in the current YF as well as the upcoming Casting Call #57: Tales of the Jedi at FFURG.

And is "Paul" the one and only Master Phruby? Just asking, because quite a few people have been changing their usernames at various boards lately  ;)

Anyway, this sounds like it's going to be of a size something in between a Yakfinities and a Group Project, right? I'm game. I absoutely LOVED working on the Summer Group Project Shaak Ti. Not only because of all the good vibes and great paricipation in that one, but also because on a peronsal level, I feel it upped my game quite a bit. If I do say so myself.

Summer's always quiet in this scene, so let's hope the dreary, grey and rainy days of autumn (or fall  ;) ) arrive soon, so we can stay indoors, let the wife take care of visiting the in-laws, and get crackin'  ;D

+1 for JACKOFTRADZE!!!

Bought a couple of SW figs and a Baroness from Michael. Great guy to deal with and fast international shipping. Thanks again, man!  ;D

It's been quite some time since I've updated over here, but then again, a lot of projects remained in their WIP status

First up is an ARC Trooper I made for a fellow TFN member:

Next, a no-paint Black Sun Crime Lord. As soon as I've cleared my work bench of current WIPs, I think I'll make him a bit less Ki-Adi:

Then a little diorama I made, featuring a brave female Jedi having just gone through the last battle droid in battle:

A Phase I Shadow Trooper, for the same fellow who commissioned the grey ARC Trooper:

A self custom for FFURG's Casting Call #55:

(don't worry, normally I don't look that aggrevated  ;) )

And another mini dio, inspired by the awesome game Killzone 2:

Foxtrain is quite a character to customize, but seeing how you handled Jaxxon, I have no doubt you'll surprise us again with your resourcefulness.

I made a custom Admiral Tower (from the Iskalon storyline) once and I'm also thinking of making more Marvel characters. One huge project that still hasn't gotten off the ground is making a Huh'k and a Stenaxer.

And I havent noticed the Super Battle Droids large feet, do you mean on the figure or the Animated Character on screen or both.

I mean the feet of the figure. I noticed it while working on one  ;)

Relax, cookiemonster, the customs section over here has been pretty quiet off late. And if you post your custom at various other boards (and rightfully so!), members will already have commented on it there anyway  ;)

And as you already know, I think you made one heck of an entrance into this community with a first custom looking like this. And knowing how you went about making it, only adds to its value.

By the way, I recently noticed that Super Battle Droids also have quite clowny feet  ;D

Again with some sort of fatherly pride, I present to you my second custom figure of my daughter Linet. You may remember her as a Padawan during the last days of the Clone Wars. She escaped captivity with the help of Wookiee friends. Ever since, she's been part of various resistance groups until she joined the Alliance. There she quickly became a trusted and skillful pilot. Besides the Rebel insignia, she also carries the triibal symbol of the Wookiee tribe that gave her shelter, when she was in her teens.

Here's a WIP shot some of you may have seen before:

Recipe:
- VTSC X-Wing Luke body + helmet
- GI Joe 25th Ann. Scarlett head
- Tycho Celchu gloves + chest box

I sculpted her chest area just a little bit, to create some sort of bosom. This was before those female Evo Rebel pilots came out  ;D

As always, comments, gripes, etc..... send 'em my way  8)

Last effort from lil' ol' me for this year, guys. HAPPY NEW YEAR to all defenders here  ;D

Here's a Clone Scout I made for a special occasion. And a Winter Wonder Stand.

Thanks man, I contacted a client of our firm who can probably help me out with the LEDs  ;)

Anyway, here's a couple I wanted to make for a long time. They're my entries for this month's YF: Entertainers. Here's the lowdown:

Kit and Agen had been best buds long before they were knighted. They were both really good musicians and decided to team up and just jam between Jedi tasks. They had this dream to form the greatest rock band in the galaxy, but unfortunately the Clone Wars hit in full force and they had to put their plans on hold. After the end of the Wars they would leave the Order and find two more fellas to really get things rollin' and take over the galaxy. Both had future visions of hot women, arenas filled with devoted fans and all the hot roddin' speeders money could buy! But events we all know of destroyed their dreams in a devastating way, leaving only questions of what once could be....

I'm still "designing" the other two band members in my head, but hope to get things going soon!
