A new show is based on the Clone Wars... Is this just a different show? I could see Lucas milking the animation boom quickly rather than waiting to see if CW does well to test another new series. I am truly hoping this is real but I've heard nothing to say it is or isn't. Very odd to have a site just appear like that though.

As posted on the front page, it looks like it is possible that another animated series (http://www.talesofthenewrepublic.com/) might be on the way, in addition to Clone Wars. Personally, I hope this turns out to be true. I've really enjoyed the Clone Wars toons, and I'd really like to see some of the "untold stories" of the Original Trilogy era as well. If the pics at the linky are real, it looks pretty nice. Hopefully we'll get some confirmation this weekend.

Ok, those images are just insanely awesome. I like the cel shading technique they appear to be using as well. Photos look nice, hopefully the story is as good as the pictures.

Never have been a huge fan of Computer Generated Animation for cartoons. Too bad they're not a little more realistic, but hey! New Republic stuff, FTW.

GH is saying it's likely a fan film dealie... Good animation though, very professional... If it's fan-made I'm watchin' just based on the level of quality.

The Tales of the New Republic website has updated with some new pictures, and there's even a trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOE4TD_dX8g) available on YouTube. Still no confirmation if it is real or fan-made, but either way, it does look nice. I really hope we get some confirmation on this at C4, and it turns out to be the real deal. We'll see.

its been confirmed for a lil over 24 hours now that its fan made. and EU canonically challenged.

Yeah, I read yesterday that it turned out to be fan-made. Its still pretty cool, but I'm a little disappointed that it wasn't the "real deal". Hopefully we'll see something like this from Lucasfilm after Clone Wars is wrapped up.

I would actually prefer to see a New Republic animated series rather than another Clone Wars animated series. As good as the various books, comics, and TV shows have been, the whole CW era has been done to death in the past five years.

It almost seems to me that this'll animate existing stories, which is fine and dandy by me, I dunno about you guys though. I'm up for watching these though... I think the attempt is admirable and I've enjoyed some fan work. This looks to be as good as any of it too.

I know this has now been confirmed to be unofficial, but I went to the Tales website again, and noticed they had some more pics up in their gallery (http://www.talesofthenewrepublic.com/gallery.html). I'm a little disappointed that this isn't an official series, but even so, the pics/designs look pretty cool.
