Title: San Diego Comic-Con 2007
Post by: Morgbug on May 24, 2007, 11:26 AM
Before Dan can beat me to it, some of us are already revving up to beg for schwag from SDCC.  Let the patheticness begin...

A list, of sorts:

Hasbro
McQuarrie Yoda/Obi-Wan Kenobi two pack with coin
R2-KT pink droid
Shadow Scout with speeder bike
Concept Grievous ???

Battlestar Galactica 3" titanium vehicle 3 pack

Marvel Legends Stan Lee
Marvel Legends She-Hulk

Luke and Han stormtrooper bustups

Diamond Select Toys
Sulu: Wrath of Khan (DST booth?)
McCoy: Wrath of Khan (newforcecomics.com booth)
Scotty: Wrath of Khan (AFX booth)
Chekov: Wrath of Khan (Toy Rocket booth)
Genesis Khan - free with purchase of above four figures.

San Diego Comic Con Intl.
DC Direct Vanishing Bugs Bunny

Acme Direct
SDCC exclusive OT character key?

Sideshow Collectibles
VCD Blackhole Stormtrooper
Darth Sidious holographic with Mechno-chair

I missed some of these, sorry, I was only thinking mostly of what I collect, not the rest of you slobs.  Here's some more:

Hasbro Transformers Alternators Ford GT Rodimus figure
Hasbro GI Joe Destro figure
Funko bobbleheads: Peanuts Woodstock and Captain Snoopy; Red Devil Betty Boop; Sparkle Angel Betty Boop; Marvin Martian Gold and Silver
Gentle Giant Harry Potter "Luna Lovegood" minibust (1000); LOTR "Glorfindel" (500);
AFX He-Man 6" King Randor mini statue
AFX Age of Apocalypse mini busts: Blink (600); Rachel Grey/Marvel Girl (600); Rachel Grey/Deathmark (400)
Wizkids SDCC Fin Fang Foom (1250); Halo 3 battle damaged SCARAB tank
Monogram Spiderman 3 movie bust paper weight (pw); clear Venom bust pw; pewter Spiderman; brass Wonder Woman; bronze Nightmare before Christmas Jack and Sally set shaped like a coffin
Diamond Select Toys Marvel Zombies Colonel America bust (1000)
Sideshow Collectibles
: Black costume Spiderman mini bust (1500); T2 John Connors mini bust (1000)
Peanuts: two t-shirts (different); Snoopy "Joe Cool" lanyards (400); Snoopy hits the beach Funkovision (175)

DC Direct
Albino Man-Bat $25
Justice League Unlimited 3 pack $20

That's about all I can find, there's probably more from the stuff the Spawn horror crowd would be into, but you can probably find all that at the Spawn.com board.  Numbers in brackets are edition sizes where included.  The "pw" in relation to Monogram stuff indicates paper weight, not Phil Wise.

Added in the Hasbro concept Grievous.  Not sure what this is, but Jeff's mentioned it in another thread, so I'll add it into the list for the time being.

I'm not sure where that came from either... but, after looking at RS pics of it I wonder what the hell?? Is that a shield?

That's what it looks like to me Jon, but no real idea there.  I'm not a huge Grievous fan anyway, so it's not that much of an issue for me, but just trying to complete the list as best I can, which is obviously going to expand in the coming weeks.

Edit- removed the SW stuff, since it will likely be available online.

Post by: jadesfire on May 28, 2007, 03:02 PM
Gentle Giant:  Commander Cody
Hasbro:  McQuarrie Obi-Wan and Yoda
Hasbro:  R2-KT

I am also assuming Sideshow will do the non-attendee thing again so I should be good on that one.

EDIT:  I realize that the Hasbro figures will probably be available online but if I asked for one in this thread, then I will pay for it if some is kind enough to get extras....regardless if I end up ordering anything online.

Title: Re: SDCC non-attendee beggers thread
Post by: Morgbug on May 28, 2007, 10:24 PM
Guys, as Nicklab pointed out, some of the Hasbro stuff seems intended for wider than just SDCC availability.  Now, there is some interpretation that is left to the imagination, but if the R2/3PO exclusive shows up online at SWS.com, I'll take that as a pretty good indication of the rest being made available.  The hitch, of course, is just how long these things stay available online.  So far the McLuke wasn't up for a very long time, but we can watch its availability as well.

Concept Grievous: SW Online Shop Exclusive

Concept Yoda/Obi Wan Kenobi: Hasbro Toy Shop Exclusive

R2-KT I can't find in the pics, but I can't imagine them limiting a fund raising figure produced for charity.

The shadow scout trooper does appear to be exclusive to the Con.

I totally understand the desire to assure ourselves of these damnable exclusives, but let's keep our eyes open and if we can unburden our "helpers", let's plan on doing so.  Now, who's helping me? :P
Title: Re: SDCC non-attendee beggers thread
Post by: Ryan on May 29, 2007, 02:46 AM
It looks as if I'll be needing the following:

R2-KT x 2
Shadow Scout x 2 (If Possible)
Hasbro Titanium Battlestar Galactica 3-Pack x 2 (I could settle for just one, but two would be ideal)
Concept Greivous x 2
McObi-Wan and McYoda x 2

However in the event these looks like these will go online I will ammend the lists and shorten them up.

There telling people not to go on Saturday because last year they sold out and there expecting more people this year. if you already got your membership they will refund some money if you tell them your not going on sat. i think Friday is star wars day. wendsday night, Thursday and sunday are the best days to go.some retailers don't sell exclusives on wensday. hasbro will be the one to hit on wensday and sunday.

I'm not worried about the Hasbro stuff too much, because if they're anything like the C4 exclusives, they should be pretty easy to get.

However, if anyone can help out with the Yoda and R2 animated maquette (one of the "other ****"), I'd be forever in your debt (or until I paid you for it ;))

Bumping/modifying my list here...

Hasbro Titanium Battlestar Galactica 3-Pack x 1 (Not really a big deal but I'd take one if someone can easily get one. I don't want anyone to feel like they have to go out of their way at all.)

McObi-Wan and McYoda x 2  (I have a feeling this will be online after the show so I really would be fine with one, and again, don't go out of your way for these, I'm not too worried about them)

And the rest I think I'll just try to nab online.
Title: Re: SDCC non-attendee beggers thread
Post by: Brian on July 25, 2007, 03:49 PM
Yeah, I'm not too worried about the Hasbro stuff either, since it might end up available online.  I don't know how many people we have attending, but like others have mentioned, don't go out of your way for anything.  I'm hoping to pick up the stuff I want online:

McQuarrie Obi-Wan and Yoda 2 Pack (x2)
Shadow Scout Trooper
R2-KT

Marvel Legends Stan Lee

I'm sure that the R2-KT will be online, from the way it sounds, and hopefully the other two will be as well.  The Marvel Legends Stan Lee might be tougher to get a hold of, but I guess you never know.  Again, like C4, I just hope no one spends/wastes their time waiting in a bunch of lines for everyone here - enjoy the show :).

I know what you mean!! I would walk up to the Hasbro people at C4 and get a coin and then an hour later, come back to get another one.  I felt like they KNEW I already had one!!  I know some people just asked point blank for more than one but I was too chicken to do that.

If anyone went to the fan club breakfast, I am looking to buy the Adam Hughes print that came with the swag. ;D

I would immensely appreciate the SW SDCC coin and the Indy coin. Indy coins my priority actually, but the other would be just as great. Pretty please with a cherry, two raspberries, three bananas, four loganberries, and a mango on top?  :-*

I don't know how many people ended up going to SDCC, but I just wanted to post that I got ahold of the exclusives via HTS/SWShop - so if there are any extras up for grabs, anyone else is welcome to them.  Thanks to anyone and everyone that was trying to help people out here, it is so appreciated.  If anyone happened to get extras of the coins (particularly the Indy one), I'd be happy to take them off their hands :P.

Title: attention CC Sunday attendees
Post by: bikerscout1 on August 7, 2007, 07:01 PM
       hey all,
I attended Sunday and I lost my camera memory card out of my pouch. I was wondering if anyone had seen it.   It is an Olympus XD card with 256MB memory.  It was in a clear plastic case.  I was last in the main hall near Corgi, Big Jabba statue and Hasbro.  I went to the lost and found immediately and kept in touch with the coordinator and so far nothing has turned up.  Reward if found.  I have ton of CIV pictures on this card.  Thanks a bunch!

Apparently, Grimace was originally a sort of Hamburglar character. He was an evil milkshake thief with 4 arms and a gluttonous appetite!

And the "Fry Guys" were originally called goblins. :D

that grimace is hilarious.  Just curious - no one happened to find a memory card on the floor at SDCC. I know it's a shot in the dark, but I lost an Olympus XD 512MB memory card in clear case at CC.  It had all my CIV pics on it, which i like a moron, didn't back up.  any info helpful. reward if found. thx.
