Title: Auction Gone Wild!
Post by: DSJ™ on July 10, 2003, 12:56 PM
Remember the R2-D2 with Holographic Princess Leia?  Well this auction went very wild!

POTF RAREST TRI-LOGO EVER ? R2-D2 HOLO LEIA  (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3137091896)

Thats a lot of bucks for this Canadian issue figure.  :o

Yowszers!!!   :o  That's a lot of dough for that Tri-Logo!  I don't think I would even want to bid on that item with all the "rules" the seller has presented.

WOW…my US version must be worth at least $60 then  ;) ;D (Rob scrambles for the door handle of his Star Wars room, grabs his R2 w/holo Leia off the wall, runs back to his PC, and logs on to eBay)

Seriously though, would a Tri-Logo really be worth more than a US card? – most collectors seem to avoid them if possible (I know there are a few exceptions like the POTJ “secret removable mask” stickered Dagobah Vader).

I usually stay away from the Tri-Logo cards myself, but if it means saving a bunch of money then I will usually break down and get the Tri-Logo.  I used to be a die-hard completist of US version stuff, but I've mellowed out quite a bit and I'm not too demanding anymore for US version stuff.

It all comes down to that if they are willing to pay that price, then so be it. I'm still shaking my head over this one. If another shows up, be sure that I will be watching to see what happens with that auction.

Looking at the bidders list, there were a few willing to pay big $$$ for this figure.

Now I just found this auction, to bad the pictures are not there anymore, went for bigger $$$$. Though it does have the discription of the figure, I still find it amazing what people will pay for a figure.  ::)

That second auction is outrageous, and it's not even AFA graded!   :o

Why would the AFA one be cheaper than the non-AFA one?  Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
