Star Wars Action Figures / SA IG-88?
« on: April 14, 2006, 11:51 AM »
Has anyone ever seen a super articulated IG-88 droid made?  Just curious since the only ones I've ever seen are hasbro's neutral posed versions.  It would be really sweet to see him in a firing pose!

Customs Community and Group Projects / Rolla in the House!
« on: April 4, 2006, 01:14 PM »
 ;D
I sorta started posting here about 6 months ago then got sidetracked when I had my daughter, so I'm just letting you all know that I've come back/restarted here on the best customizing forum on the net!

Just so you know where I am on customizing, I used to do 3 3/4" about 2000, then last year I did a couple of 6" customs (Naga Sadow was pictured).  I'm now back in the game doing 3 3/4" again.  I use strictly 'The Corps!' figures as bases since they are cheap, abundant, and I love to sand them down and re-sculpt them.
My master plan is to work my way chronologically in the EU from the beginning to the end making about 3-6 customs for each story.  I'm currently working on a 3 3/4" Naga Sadow.  My next project is one of his massassi enforcers.

Nice to be here again though!!!

Customizing Tips and Tricks / Homemade Oven
« on: April 4, 2006, 12:59 PM »
I created a unique and utterly cheap invention this past week and thought I'd share!
When I lived in my old house, I cooked all my sculpy in the oven.  My wife didnt care for it too much, so when we moved, she asked that I not do it anymore.  Well, this put a real monkeywrench in my customizing.  I tried using a hair dryer, but it took forever, even though it did accomplish it over time.

So, I got a bright idea one day.

I took a cardboard box about 4" all around (square) and left the top open.  I taped down thick aluminum foil to all sides.  Then, I cut a hole out a little bigger than the end of my hair dryer.  I taped shut the top all except for one side which I could open and close to put my object inside.  Along the bottom, I put a few holes for vents.

Stick your hairdryer in the hole and put the sculpy object inside and hit high heat for about 5 minutes.  Its done!  Really its your own easy-bake oven!

It works perfect for me now!  I'll try and post pics but its really simplistic.

Customizing Tips and Tricks / gorilla glue?
« on: April 4, 2006, 10:59 AM »
Has anyone ever tried using Gorilla Glue instead of super glue?  If so, is it just like super glue in its effectiveness?
Do you also know what its consistancy is like?  Like a gel that doesnt run, or more liquidy like those cheap super glues (5 for a dollar!)?

Thanks!

Modern Classifieds / Selling rest of fodder cheap!
« on: March 30, 2006, 09:20 PM »
Hey guys!  This is the best place period to come for customizing IMO, so I'm gonna offer this up heer for you guys.

I have about 100 loose star wars figures, mostly from saga collection that I need to get rid of.  I'm offering them for $2 piece, but I'm only selling them in lots of 10 (so I dont have to ship single figures all over).  Almost all of them are still intact, but they dont have weapons.

I bought these from a board member on another site and decided I didnt really want/need them since I do all of my customs with 'the corps!' figures now.  You'll see these soon!

I havent compiled a list yet, but I will between tonight and this weekend.  Just a heads up to all of ya.
Thanks!

Has anyone ever used 'Plasti Dip' to cast figures parts?  If so, what are the pros and cons on this versus using liquid resin?

Modern Classifieds / FS clone wars 3-pack clones
« on: December 14, 2005, 05:15 PM »
Hey all
I've decided to get rid of all my WHITE CLONES (about 9 of them(?)) from the 'Clone Wars Clone Trooper 3-Packs' that came out in 2003 and were pretty hard to find.  I only want $3 bucks each for them.  Would really like to sell them as a big lot if I could, but would do them seperately if I need to.

ALSO, I'm looking for the RED LAYING DOWN CLONE from the 'Clone Wars Clone Trooper 3-Packs'.  I can either buy it or will be willing to trade for it.
I have the GREEN clone and YELLOW clone from the 'Clone Wars Clone Trooper 3-Packs' for trade for it, along with other miscellaneous stuff if interested.  I don't want to sell the green or yellow though, only trade.

I am a very honest seller and dont believe in scalping.  I have an excellent reputation on the forums I visit the most: www.coreplanets.com
Also, 'Chewie' from Jedidefender I'm sure would vouch for me if need be.  :)

Please let me know!  Thank you!

PS: I'm also looking to buy or trade for the 'SANDTROOPER 4-PACK TROOP BUILDER SET' that came out in 2003 as well.

« on: July 30, 2005, 12:24 PM »
Naga Sadow (Sith Lord)     finished July, 2005

Made from a 6" WWE jaks pacific Booker T figure.  I used sculpy 3 for all armor, Walmart scrap bin fabric for the cape/cloak and dress thing, and a necklace I got on clearance and dismantled for the chains.

Newbies / Evil Yoda is here
« on: July 29, 2005, 04:06 PM »
Hello folks!  I just joined this site and wanted to tell a little about myself.  I collect mainly sw hasbro action figures (loose completist), I love to customize figures (6" scale because I like putting more details in), and updating my website.  The site is RollaJedi's Euniverse (formerly RollaJedi's Online Empire).  Its located at http://www.rollanet.org/~rjedi
The reason I made the site is to put my customs online and its part of a project I'm doing.  I started at the beginning of the sw chronlogy, and I'm working my way forward through all the games, books, comics, movies, etc., placing them on a timeline.  In each entry, I break down the story into charts, showing where characters go, who dies, and key points.  You'll just have to see it.  I can't explain it too well.
I know it sounds like a lot of work, but I'm really focused and determined.  It just started not long ago (so its still in its infancy right now and won't do anybody much good yet).
The purpose of this is for people who have read books, comics, played the games and such, but can't retain the information (like me!) after a while.  This is kinda a quick review for those people that don't like to have to go back and re-read a novel or whatever.  I also include in each entry pics of the key characters so you'll know what the character looks like while reading.  Even in the novels, where there is no pics!  (I'm drawing them myself based on descriptions.  I'm an artist too by the way).

So, hope you check it out and it helps ya later on.  Cya all around the boards!

Jocasta's Reading Room / looking for short story
« on: February 18, 2005, 11:18 AM »
Hello everyone! I'm new to this board and just wanted to say its great to be on here. I was hoping someone on here might be able to help me with something. I have been trying so very hard to acquire one certain short story. It is called 'The Most Dangerous Foe' and was released in SW adventure journal #11. Does anyone have a text file of this story or could maybe, possibly be nice enough to scan it and email it to me? The address to mail it to is: thedays@fidnet.com
If anyone would do this, I would REALLY appreciate it!

Thank you!
