Everything else in the line (Comic Packs, Multipacks, etc.) seems like a great value now, I'd bet. The vehicles are a superb value. I got 2 sets for a friend, and I'm tempted to get a couple HISS tanks for my Star Wars collection.

What was the Bank Job about? Is it a recent movie? I don't recall seeing any previews for it.

Watched No Country for Old Men today... I thought it was really good. Very interesting, and I'm probably going to pick up the book soon. Now, I watch a lot of horror movies, but I haven't been scared by any character more that the killer in No Country. That actor... his performance... scared me shitless.

I'm not into this line, but those are some ugly toys and packages. The labels stand out like sore thumbs and don't match the rest of the box at all. Eyesore! Ehhh....

Would a larger toy like this show up one eBay? I don't recall items like the Y-Wing and ARC-170 ('07) showing up before public release. I guess the various overseas markets might receive the Rancors before the US, and that's what I should lookout for.

After thinking about it, I could see how an eBay store (Black Sheep toys, is it?) might start stocking the rider figure, and that might be a sign of a close release.

TV-9D9 / Re: Star Wars on Spike TV

Yeah, I caught that TV spot a few weeks ago and I thought it was very well put together. With Star Wars on TV, Indy 4, and the Clone Wars movie, I'm feeling all giddy like it's '02 or '05. "There's a new one coming, aaaaaahhhh!!!"

I picked up I Am Legend, 3:10 to Yuma, and No Country for Old Men over the past couple of weeks. Only watched the first two so far.

The slighty extended I Am Legend was good, but not much more than that little end part. Seeing the hand Grenade ending a second time made me glad it was in the film, as it was much more heroic and badass than the alternate ending.

I went out on a limb and purchased 3:10 (hadn't seen it, looked good) and it was $20 well spent. Russell Crowe was very believable as a Southern Cowboy guy, lots of terrific action, and a surprising fate for the hero character. I hope No Country is just as good.

Major Bludd and Snake Eyes look awesome. I'm no longer collecting this line, but I do enjoy looking at the pictures and picking stuff up for Raleigh collectors.

Oh, this might be bad news... my local Wal-Mart raised prices to $6.92. Ouch. That's more than a Star Wars figure.

Has anyone been checking this DPCI number at Target? I thought these were supposed to show up around the same time as the Order 66 sets, so it might be worth a shot to start checking for this beast.

I'm very excited about this, as it will be the second large animal I add to my collection. (Bantha was the first) The rider looks really cool, and I hope it gets repacked individually later this year or early next year. I'm definitely in for one set, and possibly a second depening on how much I like the first and possible clearance prices. The Rancor should look great next to fighting the Hasbro Cloverfield Monster. (when I get them both)

The Original Trilogy / Re: TIE Fighters
« on: March 29, 2008, 01:13 PM »
You make a very good point Angry Ewok. I also forgot that the Empire had the Probots/Probe Droids for recon. As for wingmen for Jedi, the thought of another Jedi (more likely a Padawan) filling that role slipped my mind.

As for the picture you posted, no better way to scare an enemy shitless than by blotting out the sun.

The Original Trilogy / Re: TIE FIGHTERS

Another thing would be does the V-wing have a hyperdrive?  And if they don't are there rings for them?  Say Obi is going to another planet like how he did to Utopia, whatever it's called, but he needs a wingman?  You're not going to drop an SD in for that.

If a wingman was needed, the ARC-170's filled that role. They were very hyperspace capable. I'm guessing the Empire had a fighter in service that had a similar role.

I'm not too into the game(s), but I'm thinking sbout getting a couple of figures from this line. Master Chief looks cool, but what I'm really looking at are the Brute figures. That's a neat alien design. The only thing detering me is the price per figure.

Is everyone agreed that the Camo-At-Rt driver is going to be the shelf warmer this time around?

I don't know, the AT-RT Driver might be my favorite of the bunch. Definitely more badass looking than the ROTS figure. I cannot wait until these sets come out, as I plan to pick up a full set and make a nice squad of commando type troopers. Hasbro really hit the nail on the head with this round, while I believe last year's bunch really suckered in a lot of suckers (including myself, to be honest)

Watto's Junk Yard / Anybody here play an instrument?
« on: March 19, 2008, 11:20 PM »
Yes? No? Thinking about it? Share your thoughts. Perhaps information on what you play, how long you've been playing, and whatever else.

Me, well, I've been playing the double bass since I was in third grade. Definitely a fun instrument, and you get a helluva lot of attention playing in an ensemble due to the lack of bass players.

Recently I've been learning bass guitar. It is almost way too easy for me, but it is once again a fun instrument. I enjoy jamming to "Sunshine of Your Love" by Cream.

Sometime during the summer I hope to pick up both Electric Guitar and drums. Those two instruments really fascinate me, and perhaps one day I'll be able to start my own one-man rock band. Live shows/tours would be a bitch.   :P

Sorry if this is a redundant thread, but the search feature here is kind of weird. I'll pass the torch to someone else now...
