Other Toy Lines / Re: McFarlane Figures (formerly Movie Maniacs 6)
« on: April 14, 2005, 01:47 PM »
This may be OT, but there was a reader in the latest ToyFare that had some good ideas that may pertain to McFarlane.

*Jules and Vincent from Pulp Fiction
*The Dude from Big Lebowski
*Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver
*Jack and ?? from Fight Club

I, too, think there are great ideas for McFarlance-esque figures...classic movies for our generation.

Some of my favorite movies too...obviously I really dig the Dude idea!   ;)

Other Collectibles / Pepsi Lifesize Yoda
« on: April 14, 2005, 01:39 PM »
I just saw this on ebay - I didn't know Pepsi was doing another promotion with lifesize characters.  I wonder if they will do more than just Yoda again?

Didn't they make a Maul, Jar-Jar, and Yoda for TPM?

Sure would be nice to snag one of these in a sweepstakes or something...I tried forever to win the BlockBuster Yoda when TPM hit....to no avail.

1:6 Scale Figures and Collectibles / Re: New 12" Vader??
« on: April 13, 2005, 05:36 PM »
Be wary of the cheap knock offs on ebay that look just like the kotos.

They usually have BIN's around $25.  From what I've heard, they are cast off of the "real" koto model therefore they lack a lot of the molded detail and the paint ops suck.

There's nothing more expensive than a good deal.   :P

Yes, this is a tough one, but I'll give it a whirl.

(in no particular order)

* Vintage Star Wars Vader MOC - hard to believe that this thing is still in the package - it's almost thirty years old!  Memories...scattered pictures.... ;)

*Jedi Force Vader and Chewbacca - not mine, but my son's.  First SW figures I bought for him!   ;D  Though I play with them more than him, he wants to play with the Koto Vader I have (supposedly) out of his reach.  He came into our living area last night with his arms wrapped around it!!  Yikes, don't drop it!

*ARC-170 - First ship I bought from ROTS - the boy loves this thing.

*POTF2 AT-AT - Never had one as a kid, always had to go over to the neighbor's house to play with his.

*TPM R2-B1 and TC-14 - Wife bought me these for Sweetest day - had no idea they were rare!

*First 24 Vintage SW figures (loose but pristine) - you wouldn't believe how tight the limbs are on these guys - I swear they've never been played with.  Found them in a podunk Antique mall.  Boba has the rocket disclaimer which I think is kinda cool!

*MR ANH Vader saber - first saber to make an appearance in the SW saga and hey, it's Vader! - only 1:1 saber I own and most likely ever will.   >:(

I can't believe the U.S. dollar is worth anything these days!

JediMAC,

I think you misconstrued my earlier post.

My comment about "not having a choice" was in regards to carrying on the family name, not sabotage!

Revenge of the Sith / Re: "Evolutions" assortment...

I can't justify spending $20 for 3 figures...maybe the troopers.

Maybe if the packaging is cool...I'm a sucker for packaging (case in point - the DVD packs, the price didn't hurt either  8)).

Revenge of the Sith / Re: AT-TE
« on: April 13, 2005, 02:12 PM »
They should make one - it's the last movie and everybody loves the four legged walkers.

The AT-AT is a killer toy and if they scaled it to roughly the same size as the AT-AT I think they'd have a winner.

Same price point as the AT-AT too - $75.

If they can afford to tool the ARC-170 (killer ship BTW) they can afford to do this one.

Though I think they lost their asses on the royal starship - did anyone pay full price for that thing?   :P

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Any ROTS figures you will pass on?
« on: April 13, 2005, 01:50 PM »
Yes, the Obi Wan **** kicker is well, a piece of ****.

Here's my list of figs that I will most likely skip unless they go on clearance for $2!

*Battle Droid
*Super Battle Droid
*Both yodas (might pick up the flying dinosaur with yoda)
*Destroyer Droid
*R2D2 (have enough already)
*Zett Jukasa
*Chopper Droid
*Mace (see Dressel's post)
*All deluxe figs minus clones
*Bail Organa (boring)

I think I will buy every #41 clone I can find!  Those things kick ass!  Wish I could've found more AOTC SA clones... :'(

As well, the clone commander looks pretty sweet too!

I just saw a picture of the mini Sidious next to a mini Obi Wan weathered and boy, that thing is tiny (sidious)!

The scale can't be right?!

The engineer must've been drunk when he/she scaled that thing down!

 :-\

Edit:  Pic added.

Really, is there any potential for this line?

What else can they do?

3PO (who cares)
Luke (baby to toddler to baby)
Jabba (slim to fat to ??)
Sidious (senator to chancellor to all out crazy)
