I can't wait either...I don't have a Vintage one so spending $125+ for a new one is an easy decision

I can't wait.  I agree it's pricey, and wish it came with at least one pack-in, but I'm getting it.    Now we just have to wait for the Sand Crawler.

Hope that it is not to pricey.

It's kinda weird seeing modern royal guards, stormtroopers,Vader and the emperor next to the shuttle after all it is a vintage shuttle just rehashed.i wonder if the figs can fit in the cockpit. ???

I wonder what prompted Hasbro to switch from their originally announced Shuttle Tyderium (the stolen rebel shuttle), to this final version of the Imperial Shuttle instead...  I'm glad they did - it's an Imperial Shuttle after all, whether the Rebels had swiped it or not - and most of us think of the Imperial version surrounded by the Imperial troops anyways.  Besides, what the heck kind of cool box art could they have come up with for the Shuttle Tyderium?  Whatever it may have been, it wouldn't have been close to being as cool as the Imperial diorama.

I'm also stoked to see that they darkened the cockpit window up more accurately, which was one of my two gripes (three if you include FAO's price).  They didn't fix my other gripe unfortunately - the upside down side guns at the base of the wings.  Oh well...

I never got the Vintage version, so I've been looking forward to scoring this one for quite a while, despite it's ridiculously high price.  Bring it on!

I chatted with a Customer Service person at FAO.com today, I got the standard we're receiving it on 1/25 line.  She told me if that is the case they won't ship until 1/29 so look for them in February!

Same news here on my end.  But now there's word that the Shuttle may be appearing through other sales channels as well, beside just FAO.  Very interesting...  There's been word of it hitting the Once Upon a Toy store in Orlando (for only $100), and it appears that the French Fan Club may be selling them as well.  Who knows if the floodgates might be opened soon on this thing...

I'm going to Disneyland and the Star Traders shop this weekend (to hook Chris, Dale, and Mike up w/ ST droids), so I'll be sure to check around for the Shuttle (or any news on it) while I'm there.  If they've got one for a measely C-note, I'll definitely pick it up there and tell FAO to kiss my...

I'm glad I didn't spend the ching on a vintage one last year
I remember when I almost spent $400 to pick up a Vintage A-Wing and Skiff back in early 1995 at a huge Las Vegas toy convention.  I hesitated due to the rumors of the potential "modern era" re-release of figures that might soon be coming...  VERY glad that I did.

Never got a Vintage Shuttle, so I jumped on my local FAO's list immediately when the news on this first came out.  Hopefully my local store gets it's shipment in from the main distribution warehouse soon!  Sounds like they will!

There's still word coming out of DisneyWorld in Orlando that they've got the Shuttles too, and for only $100!  I went to Disneyland on Saturday, but there weren't any Shuttles, and the cashiers there hadn't heard of their Star Traders store potentially getting any of them in either.  Oh well.  But if Disneyland does get them in soon, I'll be buying one there and returning my FAO one!!!  ;)

I've been waiting nearly two decades for this bad boy.  Patience is a virtue, ain't it...?   :)

So, did you get yours yet Scott?!  I hope you took the day off of work (or that your wife is home) so that bad boy won't be sitting out on the front porch all day!

I just talked to my local FAO store here in L.A., and they finally recevied their Shuttle shipment at their store this morning.  They confirmed that I'm still #2 on the list, and told me to come by this evening to pick it up (once they've had time to unload them and put them into their system)!!!  So the 20 year wait should be over in about 4 or 5 hours!   :)  :)  :)

Looks just like mine Scott (without the table and chairs though)!   8)

Finally picked mine up tonight (Monday) as well.  Wow.  What a relief after 20 years of waiting to get one, and 10 excruciating months of drama since I originally signed up on my local FAO's Shuttle waiting list WAY back on April 18, 2002!  I even got to go into the back store room and take my pick from about 16 different Shuttle boxes!

While I was picking up my Shuttle, there was a poor young fella in the store at the same time throwing an absolute temper tantrum because he had never heard of having to sign up on the store's Shuttle waiting list to get one, so they wouldn't give him one.  I finally had to leave (walked right in front of him with my Shuttle), but it looked like he was about to beat the crap out of the young female FAO "personal shopper" employee.  Too bad, since she's been very nice to me over the past year on the phone, with my monthly status report phone calls.  I did chime in with a few encouraging words for her though, and told the fella he should check out some of the collecting sites on the net to get with the program and know what's up...

BTW, I'm suddenly thinking that I need even more Commtech Stormtroopers now though!    :(

Well worth the wait for this very nice ship!  But if I get lucky and stumble across one at Disneyland for $20 cheaper, I'll be returning the FAO one.  I'd much rather support Disney with my money than retail scalper FAO!  :)

I just called the FAO that I had my name on a reserve list and they said they did not see my name.   I was nervous because I originally emailed them in March 2002 to be put on the list and wanted to make sure I was still on the list.   I replied to the original email they sent me back saying I was on their list on January 24, before FAOs started getting their shipments and they confirmed that I was still on their list.  Anyway, (thankfully) they had extra, so I was still able to get one, but if you think you are on a list to reserve a shuttle, you better double, tripple, ....etc check until you have a charge on credit card to prove that it went through.

Well, as many people suspected, looks like FAO's exclusive status on the Imperial Shuttle has run out!  Entertainment Earth (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HS32487) has them on pre-sale right now for a little bit cheaper at $110, with an expected shipping date in July.  Check it out if you're interested!

I think the price may drop alittle more if people waited. If they want to move them, they will.

Aaaaaaaaaaaargh.  Had to be KB ::)

Nice fine print too.  Save $20 but get a $15 surcharge for large package.

I ordered mine from a Canadian shop, whose order got delayed.  Not expecting mine until 3rd quarter.  What do I do? ???

Not a bad price but to have it shipped up here & the conversion rate to CDN, I'm still happy with mine.
Close to what I got it for. Same If I got nailed by customs.

Mine's supposed to be $185 Cdn shipped.  But I must confess to some degree of nervousness about it coming in.  I ordered it from John's collectibles out in BC.  Communication has been great and every time I ask, he says no problem if I want the deposit refunded.  I'd like to support him, but do not want to miss out. :(

First of all, thanks for swinging by JediDefender Greg!

As for the Shuttle, considering it's showing up at EE and KB now, it sounds like there's obviously been more put into production (unless FAO didn't sell out, which would be unlikely - but possible), so there's a semi-decent chance that with more of these hitting the market, that the price just might start dropping down a little more in upcoming months.

That would be great for the masses who passed on this nice piece the first time around due to the steep cost.  It's a great ship for sure, but $100+ great...?  Probably not.  Should've been about $75-$80 from the get go...  Hopefully a couple more re/e-tailers get the Shuttle as well, driving the cost down even further...  Good luck Greg, and everyone else being patient enough for a better price.  Hopefully that patience pays off for all of you and you score a nice deal on this!   8)

I've been keeping an eye on this eBay auction that finished today - $202.50US ($238.48CDN) (http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6000931266&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1) in a minty box.

Yowza.  It could be a long time before I get my hands on this baby.

I always found it amazing that when this first came out, it was going for about what you'd pay for a vintage one. Then the price went way down. Now a modern one costs more on the secondary market than a vintage one?

Probably this shuttle will evolve in a bigger size, with many seats in the interior for action figures
They also could improve the cockpit with more colors.
