Title: JediJman's Transformers Collection
Post by: JediJman on May 24, 2009, 01:53 AM
Here are a few pics of my Transformers shelves.  As you can see, a few of the lesser known autobots had to defect to the decepticons because of lackushelfspacious.    :-\

Oh god....are those the stubby legs of mighty muggs already seeping into your collection?  What's up with your knock offs, Armada Megs...no long stacks on your US Prime?  No MP Magnus?  Dude....

Nice job on the BT Tracks though - I've somehow managed to stay away from the Tak/Tomy versions.

Well, as you can tell my two shelves of T-Formers, I'm not the die hard collector that others might be.   ;)  The 20th Anniversary prime was purchased before I even knew that MP Transformers existed - the only actual MP figure I own is the Starscream I managed to nab from Wal-Mart.  I really just set out to have a sampling of figures that matched the scale I recall from the comics as a kid.  20th Anniversary Prime and the Alternators seemed like a good fit, with a few universe figs like bumblebee fitting into that smallest assortment.  Figs like Seaspray, Red Alert, and knock-off combiners were just figs that I squeezed in because I don't have any room elsewhere for them.

I'm not overly happy with the Decepticon shelf and will likely improve that over time.  The smaller scale seekers need to go, and a lot of the alts in that group are actually autobots.  I'd like to get a larger scale ravage and maybe some additional cassettes to go with Soundwave.  I bought the movie version birds for a larger scale Buzzsaw and Laserbeak and really like how they fit with the scale of figs like MP Starscream.  Over the last year I picked up a vintage Soundwave and Shockwave to fill out my Decepticons, but I'd like to get a few more MP Seekers if I can find them on the cheap.

The Aramada Megs is a funny story.  For the last two years, I've worked the Multiples Sale in our area, which is a one day sale held just twice a year.  It's put on by our local chapter of Moms of Multiples - basically a giant garage sale for kids clothing, books, supplies, and more importantly, toys.  They charge everyone a commission on anything that sells, but if you volunteer to set up you get a better rate.  You also get to see where everything is before the sale actually opens the next day.  Last year, I saw an Armada Tank Megatron for $1 and asked my wife to pick it up at the sale since I didn't have a Megs in my display and I kind of like the Tank concept for him.  This year, they had what I think is a Leader Class Nightwatch Optimus Prime for a $1, so I got that too.  I think I might make it an annual thing as something of a reminder from the event. Its also a pretty cheap way to pick up some cool figs from years past and try to transform them on my own.

And yes, those are Transformers Muggs on the top shelf...UGH.

So how do you upload images from your computer?  I have never figured that one out.

I actually just use photobucket.com/ (http://photobucket.com/).  It's quick registration and uploads photos in seconds, let's you manage albums, etc.  They provide a quick link for posting in threads, so it makes it pretty quick to get a pic from your PC into the forums.

Takes me about 4-6 hours on dial-up which is completely insane, but I have high speed at work so it balances out I guess.  Justin - you need MP Magnus and some tall stacks for your Prime...Talk to Jay - he *might* still have an extra set, but I'm not sure.

Just a set of tall stacks?  Was this an upgrade kit or something?
