Feedback / Re: Jeff's (pka Nataku) feedback

Big thanks to Jeff for grabbing a couple Scanning Troopers and an AT-ST for me.  Still have yet to see either of these in the wild!

Nice find Joe!  And that case breakdown explains the leftovers we're seeing.  Joe - if you happen to spot another Jean or Vision, please let me know.  I saw the Moon Knight/Vindicator wave at Plymout Target yesterday if you still need any of those.

Thanks!  I will keep an eye out for those for you.  Thanks for the heads up on the figures at Plymouth, I will have to check those out today.

Not sure which you need, but they had a couple of each, so should still be there.  I stashed a spare vindicator on the bottom shelf behind some boxes directly below the Marvel U pegs in case you need that one.  I think it had a pretty good paint job.

Hmmm... sounds like a good idea, but I don't think Hasbro would do bundle packages, especially since CPs are already at a high price. Bundling them (with 2 CPs) would might as well be 1 BP. I do like the bundle idea, though.  ;)

I'd definitely be okay with these in a Battle Pack format as well - just thinking that a "bundle" might be the easiest way to go if they are already set for comic pack packaging.  I don't know enough about their manufacturing process or what the status is on these to know cost implications of moving to some other package format, but I would totally be open to a bundle pack of some kind.  Even the existing comic pack package with a second top bubble for another set of figures would work okay for me.

Yeah, that last TD run was pretty amazing.  I thought he'd do well tonight, but not a 40+ yard run for a TD and 3 overall.

I noticed tonight on BBTS that they no longer have boxes of 12 and Master Cases listed.  They now have a 'Box of 6' for $100 and a 'Master Case of 24' for $375...

Wow, that's cheap!  Is it a temporary sale or just a marked down price?

Does anyone know off hand how many of the Fan's Choice figures were EU based?  I don't have the list handy, but it sure seems like demand is strong enough for non-movie figures to continue.

As for the comic packs, I agree with Sal that they have/had some pretty choice EU figures lined up.  If CPs will not continue as a mainline SKU, then how about these possibilities:

 - Convention exclusive (we already know a few others are slated for this, but there are multiple conventions per year)
 - Online Exclusive
 - Recarded as basic figures or multi-packs (not sure if they are already produced in CP packaging - I assume not)

Here's another idea for Hasbro if they are concerned about sales: How about working a buy rate strategy?  In my line of work, we typically break down sales into penetration or buy rate.  Penetration being the number of people who buy and buy rate being the amount purchased per person.  If you have ten people buy one item, that's no different than one person buying ten items, but you often have opportunity to grow with one or the other.

If Hasbro is concerned about weak CP sales, then how about forcing a higher buy rate per consumer?  They could bundle pack two or three comic pack sets together (maybe a Wal-Mart Exclusive), so anyone that wants these is FORCED to buy a full set of 2 or 3 comic packs.  They may lose some casual buyers, but I bet they would easily make up for it in volume among the remaining buyers.  With many products, 80% of the volume comes from 20% of the "heavier buyers" anyway, and you probably would convert some of those light buyers into buying more than they would have with this strategy.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: What are some movies you can't stop watching?

I haven't watched it in a while, but I picked up the remade Dawn of the Dead DVD a few years back and must have watched it six times in six months.  I'm not even a big horror fan, but I like the mix of Zombies with some actual character building and even a few funny parts here and there.  The elevator music during the big chase near the end is hilarious.

I certainly don't feel like any of those actresses really "fit" the role of Felicia, but who knows.  A lot of people were skeptical of Robert Downey as Tony Start, but after seeing him in IM I can't think of anyone that could possibly be a better fit.  I'm not a big Megan Fox fan, but that's the type of actress I initially link to someone who could fit the Black Cat personality.

Congrats to all the Ricky Williams owners out there.  I checked in on the game late in the 2nd half and neither team had done jack.  I just looked again and he already has 2 TDs.  Woot!?  Merry Christmas.

Just found out I'm going to Lambeau this weekend. Don't like the Packers or even know who they are playing, but it will be cool to see an NFL game outside of the Metrodome.

Congrats - that should be a fun trip!  How did you end up with tickets?

Got my order from Toy Rocket today and everything looks good outside of the item that they reimbursed me for.  As a bonus, I didn't realie I had ordered the CW Assassin Droid x2, so was shocked to see these in the box!  Looks like this is a safe bet - order at will!

If wave 13 isn't hitting until Feb 2011 (which means March for most of us), then they're just saying we won't see any additional EU figures in the basic line for another six months...that's actually a pretty quick turnaround if it happens.

I think you mean Wave 13 is due around Feb 2010 and since they said Fall 2011, that's a bit longer than just six months...  ;)

Ooo.  Yeah, that IS a long time.   We are on Fiscal 2010 at work and I was thinking 2011 was just around the corner.  Cripes - that means another year before I retire as well!   >:(

On Sunday I found the Series 2 Marvel Universe 3.75" figures of Warpath and Sunfire at a Wal-Mart here in Hastings, Minnesota. :)  So these are out now!  Vision and Jean Grey are pictured on the card backs, but I am not sure if these are out or not. ???  I need to find out the case breakdown for this wave.

Jean, Vision, the "new" Spider-Man, and the unmasked Wolverine are all in the same wave as Warpath and Sunfire ... and they've been hitting across the country for a few weeks now.

Any idea what the case breakdown is though?  How many of each figure per case?  I've seen the HOM Spiderman and new Wolvie lurking onthe pegs, but that's it.  Vision and maybe Jean Grey are the only ones I want from this wave.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see more EU waves in the near future if those figures sell well.

You must have missed this nugget from Monday's Q&A @ SWC:

"After the last wave of Legacy/Droid Factory, set for approximately February, there are no more EU figures slotted for the mainline basic figure wave until Fall 2011, at the earliest."

So, while there will probably still be some EU box sets here or there, EU is disappearing from the basic figure line for a while after the upcoming wave...

I did miss that, but still stand by my earlier assessment given the above statement.  If wave 13 isn't hitting until Feb 2011 (which means March for most of us), then they're just saying we won't see any additional EU figures in the basic line for another six months...that's actually a pretty quick turnaround if it happens.  Their wording also seems to signify that they are adopting a wait-and-see approach to determine if sales of Wave 13 are strong enough to support future EU waves.
