Kubricks / Re: Attack of the Kubricks!
« on: April 6, 2006, 07:21 AM »
Well, at 9:00 last night they still hadn't pulled the auction. I emailed the other bidders to let them know what his bidding histories looked like on his other auctions. I can't access ebay from my work computer, so I can't check to see who won or what it went for-

Kubricks / Re: Attack of the Kubricks!

And the one he did win and "couldn't pay for" was a whopping $16.50. I'm sure the guy who came in second got a "second chance offer" and felt oh-so-lucky.

Remember: just because we move in flocks, baaa at everything, and are targets for potential fleecing doesn't mean we should sit still when the shears start or the wolf comes sniffing around.

If ebay doesn't pull this guy, I will contact the winners of his previous auctions to alert them to the bidding histories on their auctions as well as the others. Ebay will soon be deluged with complaints. All of these winners should be entitled to a fraud refund for the difference on the final price as if "bathing chimp" hadn't entered a bid.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Battle of Endor Wave

A good looking wave, to be sure. A couple more imperials to army build, a decent 3PO, and another ewok for the "AT-ST and smoldering pelts" diorama. ;D

Keep an eye on it...

I went through this guys feedback and looked back at his previous auctions. Every item he sold, bathingxchimp was a bidder, usually second place. I only went through about 10 of them, but that was enough to report to ebay.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: George Lucas in Stormtrooper Disguise.

I'm afraid of buying any of these figures in the stores after about the first 2-3 weeks. There are going to be armies of Luke, Han, and Greedo without tabs before this is over.

This sucks, because it will lead to fraud and frustration and it didn't need to be that way. Just make a good old mail away (POP and receipt for x figures) and be done with it. This galactic hunt crap is bs. The only winners will be those willing to screw others. This line is becoming a scalpers dream- buy the figures, return the figures, still get the mail away to scalp to the poor bastard who bought your tab-less figures.

Other Collectibles / Re: Gentle Giant Statues
« on: April 5, 2006, 08:48 AM »
Well, now I am even more confused. The Starwarsshop.com site shows the tauntaun shipping in JULY, while the gentle giant site show it as in stores now, but won't let you order it.

Has anyone heard anything about this item?

Gentle Giant / Re: Gentle Giant Busts

Thanks for shooting them the email, that is helpful.  I hope they have more planned than 1000 total, but that wasn't entirely clear in their response.

If you are looking for good vaders, I will throw in my two cents- I still love the POTF2 vader with removeable helmet. The one from the blue saga imperial trooper pack is good too- I have a couple extra of that guy because I wanted more of the other troops in the set-

That's a tough call. Initially he went for quite a bit on the ebay, but things have cooled off significantly there. If it doesn't matter to you, you could probably find a local collector who would trade you 2 other figures for it.

On the other hand, if you like the uniqueness of the stand, hey open it up! You'll never get it cheaper than you did.
