They really did sue? I was just kidding! HG is hyper-protective of anything Macross-related.

Saw The Wolverine; it's really good. The Silver Samurai looked a little phoney, but other than that, a really sold movie. Almost more like an old fashioned noir-detective movie set in Japan than a whiz-bang comic book movie.I liked it too. I was really into X-Men, Avengers and Spidey in the 80's, and sort of fell out of collecting during the time period where this arc was published, so I can't say that any deviation from the source is good or bad, but I did think the film was very good. In fact, I think they should have just gone with a less super-technological version of the Silver Samurai and it would been near perfect. I think a guy in a, well, silver samurai costume would have fit the tone of the film better.
And the post-credits scene is awesome. Worth the price of admission alone
you would think Hasbro would want everyone who wants one of these to get one in their hands so they don't turn off any new "line buyers" for this 6" scale. My thoughts exactly. Knowing up front that there is a potential hole in a collection may turn off the very people this is targeted towards.
That sounds too complicated for a mass appeal comic book film. Avengers had the benefit of established characters, lead villain and the McGuffin cube. How do you intro Scarlett Witch, Vision and Ultron in 2 and 1/2 hours and have room for the main cast as well? They will introduce these characters and concepts over the films leading to Avengers: TAoU. They didn't introduce any character, or even the MacGuffin aside from Maria Hill in The Avengers; that work was done in IM, IM2, TIH, Thor, and CA:TFA.
I guess they might make it work.
Remember, it's a reboot... not really the Sup's we grew up with.
