In addition, 3D penetration into homes hasn't hit a huge level yet so 3D is an attraction to moviegoers.  Even if all that up-charge goes to studios (which is obviously not the case) then additional butts in seats equals more over-priced concessions.

I thought the 3D in TPM was pretty well done.  It is hit or miss though.  I saw Iron Man and Star Trek in 3D.  IM was not worth it, ST was pretty good.

ETA: 3D is hugely profitable for theaters and studios.  It isn't going anywhere.

Always a good series against Boston who always have a great team.  You guys were always fighting for a top spot in the East too Jesse, so I think it's going to be a tough series.
Only the homerest of homers around here is thinking the Bruins will have any kind of cakewalk with the Pens.  Boston is definitely the underdog in this series, but not so much an underdog that they couldn't pull it off.  Could be very exciting.

AotC is my least favorite SW film.  That said, I would have liked to have seen this.  I wanted to put together a set of those LE 3D glasses.

This will be stillborn at $30.  $20 would be bitter enough to swallow.

Hasbro should crank these out so ANYONE that wants one can get it.  A little goodwill here may pay dividends with collectors (who they seem to be aiming this line at) down the road.  I want one of these things, even at that absurd price, but I live on the east coast so there is no chance of me getting anywhere near SDCC.  Do the right thing, Hasbro, and keep making these until they sit.  Hell do online pre-orders.

I have often thought that Vader changes after he encounters Luke.  He does not kill anyone after that, until he kills Palpatine.   I think that Luke reminds him of his humanity, and it is Luke's sacrifice that allows him to throw off the yoke of the dark side once and for all.

Interesting.  I do have several SFBC editions that my brother got me.  I will definitely check those out.

1. Peanut
2. Peanut Butter
3. Almond
4. Plain
Distant 5. Pretzel (terrible)
Can't agree with you here.  I LOVE pretzel.  I'd put it Peanut, Pretzel, Plain.

I saw it today and I thought it was better than the first one.  It definitely had some annoying plot holes (some mentioned by Bill and a few more that weren't), but then I remembered this is Star Trek (famous for remodulating something at the last minute to save everyone) coupled with Damon Lindelof (arguably the laziest writer alive) and you get what you get....a decent popcorn flick.

I just hope that When JJ Abrams screens Episode VII, the lightsabers aren't causing so many damn lens flares!
Agreed.  I thought this was a fun movie.  What I think doesn't bode well for Abrams' SW7 is the fans are ALREADY sharpening the knives, and there is basically nothing done on it yet.  This movie was fun, it looked good, and it was entertaining, and meant to be enjoyed by the masses without 50 years of cannon bearing down on it.  It was as good as a few of the Trek features past, and better than more than a few of them.  Movies are not TV shows, so one should not expect the depth or methodical nature when seeing a movie.  The filmmakers don't have 200 episodes to flesh out a character, they have 2 hours.

Great finale.  The only thing I would have changed was that line Michael Scott delivered about his children getting married.  It was really funny, but it would have been so awesome if the only thing you hear his character say in the final episode was "That's what she said!"
