I got a Sony player last August. Quality is great, love the presentation. I'm pretty happy with it. The player itself is realllllly slow, however - just turning it on can take 2+ minutes before I can even get the disc tray to open out (if not longer). Loading the BDs takes some patience as well - being used to DVDs starting right up, it can be a little annoying. It's not unlike going from N64 to PS1 - you hated waiting for the load times, but once they did load, (often) the overall experience was better. That's the nerdiest analogy I could think of.

Anyway, that could be just my player, but it's not the most charming attribute. I also had to recently upgrade the software (another thing I never had to to with DVD) since some discs weren't loading up (Ghostbusters, for instance, which uses the newer Java based menus, etc.). Since I use a Mac, I had to special order an upgrade disc directly from Sony, as their website only had support for PCs. Not a big deal, but again, something that DVD never had an issue with.

Still, overall, it's great. I've only purchased about 15-20 BDs so far, as there haven't been a ton of releases that excited me, but the ones I have gotten really are fantastic, and it does seem to show an improvement in presentation of the DVDs I already had.

That's funny. Not enough shirtless action figures, though, IMO.

I've had a real bug up my ass for them since Chirpa came out.

There's a cream for that.

There's plenty of lubes for it, too.

Wait - did they make or announce Wooof and I missed it? Because that's what I want.

Will make for a great shirtless Porkins custom someday too, or even of Wuher stripping down in the cantina.

I really hope that's a joke.

Forget new figure petitions - I say go for an ICMG Lego figure now.

Nice stuff - take care with those 9D9 arms!

Update: it came today, and the boil and pop worked perfectly. I boiled one for about 15 minutes and the arm slid right out and into the old one. I think boiling it for an extra long time helped out - if anyone ever tries this, go carefully, but it is possible. I have seen the promiseland.

Thanks, Corran, Dale. I'll give it a try when it comes and see what happens.

Yeah, that totally doesn't help me at all.

Well, I officially have one with just a left arm and one with just a right arm now. At the very least, I can pry apart one of them, but the trick will be getting it to fit peacefully into the other one. Maybe if I buy it a few drinks first. The worst I'd do is waste the money on the one I just got, really, which I'd rather not do.

Anyone ever make this fix before?

Just got another cheap EV-9D9 that's missing the opposite arm of the one I already have. Does anyone know if it's an easy swap out/in from that figure? I'm hoping to get a whole figure out of the two. Boiling required?
