What is your favorite Episode 1 vehicle? I don't own this, but I really like the Naboo Royal Starship. I saw one of these at a flea market once, and man is it huge! It's a bit pricey... the guy was asking for $150 and the box was totally beat up.
-
$150 :o
I will put out a vote for the trade federation tank. I just liked it.
-
I bought mine right away for the original price at Toy's R Us, which I believe was $100 (or $150?) and then kicked myself when they had countless numbers of them for $50 about a month later.

Wish you could have picked me up one of those back then (if I only had known you then). :P

I found my Royal star ship for 32.00 at my TRU during the last major EP1 clearance a couple years ago. They had a few at the time but money was to tight then to buy more.
-
I have serious issues with Episode I, it's becoming ever more clear to me. I own zero Ep I beasts, vehicles or playsets.
The movie wasn't that bad, was it? Must discover origin of disturbance within my mind.......

Do you own any EP1 figures?
-
I think the best Ep1 figure would be the Royal Starship with the ATT a close second. The ship I think was the best because of the infared tech. that makes the ship react to the remote.

Yeah, basically all of them. I might be missing a Naboo Royal Security, but I had one, just can't find it. Have all the tough ones too.
That's what's weird about the whole thing. I enjoyed the movie in the theater. I like it on DVD. Sure, Anakin is cloying and irritating, but I can get beyond that. I loved the lightsaber battles. The difference with those between the OT? Wow. Absolutely wow. I wore out that section of the VHS tape.
But...
I did not like the Gungans. Boss Nass was eh, ok. I loathe and despise Jar Jar (yeah, I have all the JJ figs). Captain Tarpals was ok too, but in general, I disliked this aspect of the movie. It was important to the overall scheme and the big battle was a visual specatacle but beyond that, I didn't find the subsequent vehicles to be of much interest.
Queen's starship was cool. But I missed it originally and on clearance and it just costs too much to get it up here (plus I have the droid anyway). I like Maul's speeder. Beyond that, not much interested me.
I traded away both of my Gungan Sub's with Obi. Never owned anything associated with the big battle and thought the space ships, for lack of a better term, sucked.
I really don't know why. I love the vehicles from the classic trilogy. Weird, eh?
-
I have no vehicles from EP1. :'(
They did't interest me at the time & now they are starting too.
-
I can find you a Naboo starfighter for $40 Cdn MIMB or a MIMB Queen's starship for *gasp* $150 Cdn ::)
I own no ships from Ep I except for the Sith speeder w/ Maul

$150. CDN. :o Holy :-X Man, that bites!

The Queens Ship and the Tank are probably not only the two best E1 vehicles but close to being the two best Star Wars vehicles ever - in my opinion. Will Hasbro ever be able to spend as much money on a toy as they did with the Queens ship, ever again? Time will tell.
-
Queen's Starship all the way, it is really the best ship Hasbro has put out to date and shows what they could do...hint hint Sail Barge
The price point hurts, I got mine at Target for less than $30

You're lucky you only had to pay $30 for it.
One of my friends who also collects Star Wars stuff is an astromech freak, and he just paid $30 for that red R2 unit that comes with the Naboo Royal Starship. OUCH! :o
-
As another astromech freak, I can relate. But I was very fortunate, I only had to trade to current Saga figs to get the droid. It wasn't minty fresh, but pretty good shape and that's quite a bargain for the droid alone.
The Starship would be cool to own, but I missed the clearance sale. It weighs a ton and the shipping alone would cost a fair bit.
-
I live in a scalper wasteland. I bought my 2 loose ones from a scalper for $10, but I saw several Starships with the droid ripped out.
-
I would have to say Naboo Fighter... I knows its nothing special, but it was the first one I got. $8 :) CDN
I would kill to get one of those gigantic starships but the price tag is too high.
Maybe I'll find one at a garage sale, yeah right. ;)

You'll never know what you can find at a garage sale. My dad found a POTF2 AT-AT and Millennium Falcon (both with original boxes in good shape) for $6 each. Now THAT'S a great deal, and at a garage sale! ;D
-
I kinda like the AAT. I have the Royal Starship, but I haven't opened it. I just don't have enough room.
-
The Queen's Royal Starship. It had a whole bunch of fun stuff, including a fig, and anyways I really like the big vechles like that.
-
Enough said :) :

I like the Queen's Starship as well... I was fortunate enough to get mine for $24.00 during TRU's clearance. i really like the red astromech droid pack-in... name slips my mind at the moment.
-
MINE MUST BE THE THE AAT
-
MINE MUST BE THE THE AAT
Calm down killer.
I've played with the Gungan Sub. Does that count for anything?
Kevin
-
Queen's Ship, undoubtedly. Got mine for $50 sometime in 2000.
The Naboo Fighter is a close second, though. I got that for $5 at Wal-Mart in 2000 also.
-
I'd have to vote Queen's Starship as the best Episode 1 vehicle, and the ATT as "runner-up".
-
AAT was my favorite, but the E1 line didn't yield a lot of vehicles I was impressed with. The Flash speeder could've been really great actually, but it unfortunately was way underscaled. They should've done better there.
The AAT was reasonably to-scale I think... A little off. There's a model that actually was to-scale I believe, ironically. The Naboo Fighter could've been real great IMO... I'd have loved to seen it done better. I think it's one of the few designs in E1 that hold up tot he other films.
-
While maybe not technically being "vehicles" 2 of my fav pieces were the small catapult and flash cannon. Small very inexpensive peices, nicely packaged, nice push button light up features. Yeah, looking back, theese were kinda cool and usually forgotten pieces.
-
That's a good point Bob that they're forgotten but incredible in detail. The cannon was actually the one that lowers on the Droid ControL Ship and fires on the Republic Transport that brought Obi and QGJ there if I'm not mistaken.
They were both quite cool little items, and overlooked.
-
I would say the Queen's Royal starship just for the playability factor. I would spend a lot of time just using the remote droid fighter to keep shooting the panels off of it! ;D
-
STAP w/ battle droid was cheap, is cheap and comes with a figure... what more can you ask for in a vehicle. Also it doesn't take up too much space and you can practically army build with it. It's my favorite.
-
The Queen's Spaceship takes the cake. It is 2 vehicles in one, a playset and that whole laser tag thing with the droid fighter, come on. Plus it has that cool red R2. I love exploding action.
I got mine at Target when they 1st came out on sale for 88. I wish I had two.
-
I liked the AAT tank the best for cost and design. It's just nice.
-
I agree that the AAT is pretty nice. Not sure on its scale, but it seems close and they did good with the hatch. I was only miffed at the lack of a "real" interior. The lame-ass feature of the exploding cockpit thing, with the painted figure and all that... Not swift.
To me, the AAT was a pretty solid attempt though...
And E1 didn't have a lot of good stuff to pick from. I think it has the worst ships/vehicles of all the films. I will say that the Gian Speeder is one I'd have liked to have seen done and done properly. The Flash Speeder was a letdown since it was so damn tiny. Nice idea, piss-poor execution.
The N1 Fighter was a bit more the same, as was the Queen's Ship...
Episode II was a far greater effort out of LFL's designers to make "Star Warsy" vehicles. The ships in E1 just fell flat.
-
to me the best ship of episode 1 is the queens royal starship playset. and I think theat episode one had some real nice toys in its collection.
-
STAP.
;D
-
Royal Ship, I have one open & one customized.
-
Royal Starship by far. I wouldn't pay the retail price for it, but if you can get a cheap one I definitely recommend it.
-
Royal Starship. I have one opened, while my son does and I have one boxed still. STAP is a close second for me (I have 5 of them, 1 opened, 4 boxed).
