Jigga What??? (http://www.rebelscum.com/article.asp?i=90752)
When did this news come about? I though his Starfighter was already released, yeah? Toys R Us? Huh?
Me so confused... ???
Kevin
Fixed your link, goof. - M

There were rumblings a while back that the Starfighter would come with an Anakin figure - that was what everyone thought would be the preview set. Then that was scaled back and the preview was vehicle only. Shortly after that, I did hear rumors that the ship would come with an Anakin figure in a window-box just like Obi-Wan and his starfighter did for AOTC. The exclusive this time would go to TRU instead of KB.

Yeah, I remember hearing about those rumors of an Anakin Pack-In with a later version of the starfighter too....
Maybe that is all this is - The Sneak Preview Starfighter plus one of the Ep3 Anakin figures?
Jeff
-
Damn, I hope it's not another different Anakin....
A much better exclusive I think would have been Obi Wan's ship with severe battle damage and several buzz droids, with a new Obi Wan.
:P
-
I'd rather get PLo Koon's ship instead, he's my favorite alien Jedi.
-
Well, our answer just showed up on Scum... windowboxed Starfighter with an Anakin figure... but the ship has a green deco and white gun turrets. Its tough to tell if that is a different Ani or not.
-
Does the green deco make any sense? At what point does his fighter change colors? ???
-
He flies a Starfighter to Mustafar, but you can't really see in any of the pics so far if it is his original ship, or a new one later in the film. The latter is the only way it could make sense.
I could have sworn someone else had a green ship though. What color is Plo's ship?
-
What color was Saesee Tinn's in the CW series. He takes off same time as Mace does in his purple one, I'd swear it was green.
-
The magic of Tivo...
It's a light, almost teal green.
-
So then are we just looking at a Hasbro blunder, copying the switch with the A-wing that we just saw? I suppose we'll have to wait and see the film, but I'm a wee tad cynical about this one.
I really like the color scheme of his regular/pre-release version so I'm less keen on this one. Given that I've already opened the first ROTS Anakin figure, I'm not so keen on this ship. Clearance prices are fine though ;)
Possible difference: the pack-in Anakin has articulated knees, something the first Anakin ROTS figure does not.
-
Good Lord.
Window box. Ouch. :'(
Sign me up for two, please. ::)
Sucks, of course. But thank God they've at least changed the color, mistakenly or not. I'd hate to have to get a whole 'nother one of these just for the Pilot Anakin figure. Dumb, dumb, dumb...
-
:-X
-
Pass.
-
It's probably a goofy color thing like Hoth Han Solo. It's blue! It's brown. Anakin will fly a yellow...no...green Starfighter.
To be honest I was not going to pick up Anakin's JediStarfighter. However, I might buy this with that Anakin figure. Weird how something like that makes it more appealing to me.
-

I had to chuckle knowing you'd get screwed by this just as much as me. I'll be needing two as well. At least it is a legitimate variant, I mean, it is entirely different paint job, and actually looks kinda cool. It would be nice to know if it was a cannon film ship and not some BS off-screen thing.
-
Am I the only one who is really pissed off about this? They can't make a regular Anakin figure that can fit in the cockpit of the ship that is going to be at every retail outlet across the country, but they can repaint the ship and throw a figure that can fit in the cockpit out as yet another exclusive item? Ridiculous.
I swear they should change their motto to: "Hasbro: Just Try and Guess How We Will **** You Over THIS Week!" ::)
Two Jedi Starfighters I can justify; three is really stretching it, but a fourth, just to get a figure? Are we sure the old Playmates Trek handlers aren't running the SW line these days?
-

That sounds about right to me... >:(
So we have 4 Starfighters now? How many of these damn things do I need? ::)
Jeff
-
I may pick it up, depending on which Anakin it is, and if it can fit in the ship or not.
-
I can't wait for the Walmart Exclusive Hot Pink Starfighter comes out later this year!

OMG WTF?! R U SERIUZ?!!111!1one!111!!11
Teh r0xxors!
Kevin
-
Like Matt and Jared, I'll be down for two of these as well....
God-damn my OCD!
Anyway, as far as them doing this goes, I'm actually PLEASED that the ship has a completely different paint job. If they had given us the EXACT SAME Jedi Starfighter that we already have, I'd be pretty upset with having to buy it again - much like I was with the Obi-Wan fighter for AOTC.
For my MIB/MOC collection it will just be another packaging/paint-op variant. For my open collection, I can always give the Starfighter to Saesee Tiin since his in the animated Series was green.
Now they really do need to give us that hot-pink one KBZ is joking about - actually it will really supposed to be purple for Mace Windu, but they'll screw up the paint-op and the final product will look pink! ::)
-
Just as a side-note to this exclusive. The Jedi Starfighter that Anakin takes to Mustafar is described in the novell as being Green & White.
So I guess this is a movie accurate version afterall - Anakin must take someone else's fighter when his and Obi-Wans end up trashed in the opening sequence.
-
An exsisting vehicle with a new paint deco is OK with me. Just as long as they don't charge an extra ten or fifteen bucks for it ala the Target Exclusive Clone Trooper. Hell, I wouldn't complain if they tacked on an extra couple bucks for the figure that comes with this ship.
-
Well, the little placard in front of the ship in the Con pictures says it is supposed to be 19.99. TRU.com is charging 29.99 at last check for the item, so there you go.
I'm going to pass on this one completely, as two Jedi Starfighters are enough for me. What makes it worse is that the figure is the #2 basic Anakin with a halo that you can borrow from your Clone Wars Anakin figure (you know, the one that won't fit the figure's head and the figure that won't fit in the cockpit of his own ship) and put in the regular Anakin Fighter. They could have at least ditched the action feature, made a soft goods skirt piece, or something. Then again, this is Hasbro.
-
I have determined that the ONLY way I'm going to get versions of Anakin to actually fly his ships - either Clone Wars or ROTS is to get an extra one of those Evolutions 3-packs. The soft goods combined with VOTC level articulation should allow for both the Padawan Anakin and the Jedi Knight Anakin to fit in all three of the starfighters.
I think it is pretty lousy that the TRU exclusive includes the EXACT SAME Anakin figure that as released as C1-#2 - they could have at least given the figure a soft-goods skirt to allow him to sit better in the ship. Also the damn action feature on both Anakin and Obi-Wan have caused the figure to have slightly longer torsos than the standard figure. So this means that they sit a little tall in the starfighter too. Just ONCE, I'd like a ship w/figure exclusive to include (a) a decent figure and (b) a figure that was compatible with the vehicle.
If they make an Evolutions 3-pack of Obi-Wan, I'm hoping they do all three from the PT - that way you'll get a great Padawan Obi-Wan, a nice AOTC Obi-Wan that should fit both in the Starfighter AND the Yellow Speeder and a nice ROTS Obi-Wan that will fit in his fighter. I don't have much hope for the basic release Obi-Wan Pilot figure coming out later this year.
-
So, this thing is in stock at Amazon.com...
Star Wars Revenge of the Sith: Anakin's Jedi Starfighter (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0007PHN08/jedidefender-20/102-6398872-0073735)
but it's listed for $29.99 plus shipping/tax. :o
$30 for the same ship I've already bought twice with a pack-in figure I already have (#2 Anakin)? No thanks. >:(
Jeff

In the Making of ROTS book there is a shot of this Fighter outside Padme's Veranda. His yellow one must be toast and he (as said) takes this one to Mustafar.

So, I supposed we should be prepared for another exclusive $30 Starfighter with Obi-Wan since he ends up with a 2nd ship too (the blue one he uses to get to Utapau)? ::)
LFL and Hasbro saw the beauty of costume changes for multiple figure possibilities, I guess it was only a matter of time before the ships started getting costume changes too... :-\
Jeff
-
Yep, that is what I was thinking to. Nice that they made sure to change the colors in the film huh? I did want this exclusive but for $29.99 I may go cheap and not get it. We'll see.
-
There's something strange about the price point on this. I saw the Amazon listing for $29.99, but Hasbro had a pricetag of $19.99 for it at Celebration 3. They have been wrong on their pricing though, since they listed the Target Clone Trooper for $9.99 at C3 and I got mine at Target for $12.99.
I can see the Obi-Wan version of this piece coming down the pipe at some point. The blue Jedi Starfighter Obi-Wan takes to Utapau has to be coming, too. I can't see Hasbro NOT taking advantage of completists like that. Maybe KayBee will be picking that one up since they had the AOTC Obi-Wan with Starfighter.
-
I too am surprised the Blue Jedi Starfighter bronze dome R4 isn't coming down the pike either.
Perhaps if the Anakin one sells well, TRU will want it. I mean, how many versions of this Jedi Starfighter to we need really?
And don't forget we also saw Mace fly a purple one in the Animated Series - so that's another variant possibility.
I just wish they were giving us Anakin with a soft goods skirt so he could actually SIT in the fighter!
-
I too am surprised the Blue Jedi Starfighter bronze dome R4 isn't coming down the pike either.
It might very well happen. Hasbro traditionally reveals their 3rd & 4th quarter exclusives at the big summer conventions. Wait for Comic Con.
-
One of the clips from the ROTS videogame shows Anakin landing on Mustafar, but the scene is so red that you can't see if the ship is actually white with green markings. It kinda looks like the bulk of the hull is white, but it is still a guess.
My Amazon order showed up today. I haven't opened the thing, mostly because I'm worried about a price adjustment, but also because I don't know what to do with the ship. From what I can tell, the figure is just Anakin #2, and the ship itself doesn't have any changes, but all of the stickers, including the interior ones, are all pre-applied. The text on the back of the box is horrible, too:
Anakin battles the enemy in his Jedi Starfighter! He uses his amazing piloting skills and mastery of the Froce to defeat his opponents in space combat! Re-create his daring missions and exciting adventures -- the mission to rescue Chancellor Palpatine, his daring chase after a mysterious pilot who is as skilled as he is, and his many encounters with the Separatists forces during the Clone Wars! Live the adventure!
Yo, Joe! WTF?
-
I guess they didn't want to mention the part about him flying the ship to Mustafar to murder the seperatist leaders.
Live the adventure!
-
Spoilers
Anakin and Obi-wan both lose their first fighters after the Battle of Coruscant, Obi's is pretty much destroyed in the battle and Anakin's isn't in much better shape and then both fighters are on the Invisible Hand when it crashes into the Planet. So they get new ones, Anakin gets his green and white fighter that he takes to Mustafar and Obi gets his blue and white ship that he takes to Utapau. I guess this has pretty much been established in this thread already but I felt the need to say it again. ::)
I'm down for more colored Jedi Starfighters. I'd like to see Mace;s purple fighter as well. The only thing that sucks is the damn pack ins. What is the point of putting it in there if it doesn't fit?I is just a waste. They could at least pack in a kit bashed figure, like Anakin's ROTS head on an ROTS Anakin body with Jedi council Mace legs, hell the whole JC Mace would be better. I guess we can't expect that since Hasbro seems to be in for the cheap buck, most of the time.
-
Showing up in various TRU stores now! $30 a pop though... :-\
-
Yep, saw it at TRU this afternoon. $29.99, just like on Amazon.com. Pretty damn pricey for the same ship a third time, a pegwarming figure, and a headband.
-
*sigh* I'll have to check the TRU near where I work tomorrow - I went there today at lunch time and they had lots of boxes everywhere, but I didn't see the starfighter in any of the boxes clearly marked. Perhaps I'll find it tomorrow.
Of course, my OCD will force me to buy two.... *grr*
-
I just picked one up and opened it. Destined to gather dust at a store near you. Pack in figure is the same except for the hair which is lighter than the carded version. Same headband from Clone Wars line, and the action feature makes it a bitch to seat properly in the cockpit. The only plus for me is I really like the green they used.
-
I just got this today and it's not too terrible. I was able to get the Anakin into the Starfighter, but the action feature is pointless. The ship itself is ok...the green is nice, but I don't like the white color it came with. Not a huge deal, but I like the gunmetal grey color they used as the base for the other two (or three) that have been released.
I also bought a Saesee Tiin to put in the Cockpit of the green one. Now all I need is the #56 Obi-Wan and all my ships will have pilots!
-
This may seem silly, but you know what I like about this piece? Hasbro put the decals on at the factory! That was one of the biggest hassles about the Sneak Preview fighter & the Obi-Wan fighter: it was IMPOSSIBLY DIFFICULT to get the decals well placed in the cockpit. Thanks for doing it on this one, Hasbro.
-
At 30 bucks I think I'll pass on this one. I saw it this morning at TRU and wasn't very impressed. Down the road if i see it on clearence for 15 or 20 bucks maybe I'll pick it up.
-
can anyone please confirm that the anakin figure is EXACTLY the same as the #2 regular release anakin besides the addition of the headgear? if it is the same i will probably pass on this. any help would be much appreciated.
-
I was at TRU and it looks the same to me. 8)

The Anakin I received with the ship has lighter hair and it is noticeable. Anyone else notice this?
-
The $30 price tag is a bit too much for me. Not that it matters since I am on SW merchandise lockdown for a few months. Maybe it will go on clearence later?
-
Oh it will go on clearance ;D. You can be your midiclorians on that.

What, like the Jedi Council packs, Naboo packs, OTC Falcon and the Dodonna wave that are still pegwarming at full price?
-
Agreed, TRU typically does not Clearance stuff (especially exclusives)
-
When it does clearance, typically it goes really fast. But TRU has been very slow to do this as ruthlessly as Target.
-
my tru still has the OTC falcons for $54.99 >:(
and not jsut a few but about a dozen sitting on the shelves!!!
-
Same here, our local TRU has just a gob of OTC Falcons, still sitting at $55 or so. If they went on a big clearance, I'd consider picking one up, but not at that price.
-
I'm sorry for you guys then b/c in my area they do clearance stuff. Granted they do it a lot slower than Target and perhaps even walmart but OTC Falcons are already at $40.
I got the 12" Sandtrooper and Dewback for $20 (granted more than a year later but what is the hurry?). The 12" luke and Taun Taun for $30. Both the Imperial forces 4-pack and the pit of carkoon 4-pack, I got for 7.98. I got the 12" Leia w/Han in Carbonite for $20. :oWere those not exclusives?
Even though the jedi scenes and the geonosis war room scenes were not exclusives, I got those 4 that came out in Saga packaging for 7.98 each. The OTC ones are still sitting there at full price but give them time...
I could go on and on but I don't need too.
Good luck,
Gatillo

Keep an eye on TRU.com for clearances, as they tend to do things a lot more frequently (and a lot quicker) than the actual retail stores these days. The last time I was in a TRU (last November, I kid you not), they still had those POC (one letter away from POS!) four packs with the SB cannon at full price; one of my friends told me they STILL haven't clearanced them out.
TRU.com, however, has them down to 8 bucks. I've gotten more than a few things from TRU.com for cheap (Leia Boussh for 14 dollars, 12" Geonosian for 10 bucks, 12" scale E1 Watto for about 7 bucks I think) so keep an eye on them in the coming months. I have a feeling that Anakin's Starfighter will be in the 15 dollar range by the time August rolls around.
(and if they'd clearance that stupid Naboo 4-pack, I could get the Tarpals and Kaadu and pass along the three army builders to the nice people here at JD!)
-
Does anyone have these kicking around still, or have they gone the way of the dinosaur?
I found it at TRU.com (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0007PHN08/jedidefender-20) for anyone that's still needing one, $29.99.
-
A short while ago in this very thread, yours truly said this:
I'm going to pass on this one completely, as two Jedi Starfighters are enough for me.
About three weeks after the film was released, I ended up not passing on it. After seeing the film several times, I thought, "You know, I like that color scheme the more I look at it." I told myself though that the only way I would buy it would be if I actually walked into a TRU and saw it on a shelf, and I had the money to get it at the time. Well, two days later, I made a road trip to a nearby theater to watch ROTS and what was about two blocks away? TRU. And what did I buy? Yep, the last Starfighter on the shelves.
I am growing really fond of the JSF design after having seen the film and playing with admiring the three toys, and since I have now made an "If it's not in the films, I don't want any part of it" edict with my own vehicle collecting, I am actually looking forward to see if the Obi-Wan Starfighter is the blue version he takes to Utapau, as that color scheme is cool too. ;D Now, if they could only do the hyperdrive rings...
On a semi-related note, I plan on taking control of the entire east coast with my growing armada of toy Jedi Starfighters from Episodes II and III later this fall. I figure that with four of each style, I should be able to overtake South Carolina with little to no difficulty or resistance. :D
-
Ive never seen it in the stores here so Im gonna have to get it online. Or maybe I can find someone with a loose one so I don't have to have another Anakin.
-

What, you mean like this one, Michael? :P It just went up over at YodasNews (http://www.yodasnews.com/).

Hey Matt, is that a TRU exclusive as well?
