Seems like Tarkin's now slated for the Vintage Line according to DD in the Force Cast.
-
In my best best Monty Burns - Excellent.
-
Cool! I hope they get Peter Cushings likeness right on!
-
My cat Grand Moff Howie and I are very pleased.
-
Not the real thing of course, but it sure would rock if they made him look like this custom version by Evergray:

That would be good for me, Chewie. Nice work, Evergray!

Maybe he is coming real soon... More info here (http://starwars.com/theclonewars/look_whos_tarkin/index.html)

It was mentioned specifically that it's Grand Moff Tarkin, Vintage Collection.
But Captain Tarkin from Clone Wars is cool.
Tarkin's my favorite character, and MY cat, Tarkin, would enjoy any new version I'm sure.
-
oh yeah I know that, I was just kinda going off idea that Hasbro might not be trailing the figure too far behind his CW debut. To me it strengthens his release to hopefully be sooner than later.
-
K, I just wanted to make sure DD was actually pretty clear on it being Vinty was all.
I'd gladly buy an animated Captain Tarkin though. It's the only character I buy "everything" of. It's the only mini-bust I own. I'm a big Tarkin freak. My cat's named Tarkin... Love Peter Cushing. I'm curious now how his character is developed in The Clone Wars too now that they've revealed him. :)

Whaa?!?!
Complete awesomeness!!!
TVC or not, they HAVE to do an animated Tarkin. Heck, if they can double-dip for Barriss, they could support Tarkins in two lines as well.
Thanks for that news!

Wow, someone ages badly within 3 years!

I didn't care for the way they made up the ROTS Tarkin... Looks awkward, and just because Cushing was Gaunt doesn't mean he looked like a corpse his whole life. They really should've attempted to look at him as a young man and duplicate it.
-
I agree, Jesse. That whole make up was off. It's sad that the CW version looks a lot better than the Sith version. Of course, maybe if Lucas has bought the rights to Cushing's likeness, he could digitally place his head and make him younger for that Star Destroyer scene.
-
IIRC, the plan was to use a digitally recreated Cushing, but they couldn't make it look right. Instead they heavily made up Wayne Pygram for what amounts to less than a minute of screen time.
-
To defend the makeup though that is a closeup we never actually see in the movie itself. It's him at a distance in the film. So, who knows maybe they would have done something different if he would have had a closeup.
Anyway, blah, blah, blah. I am verify happy we are getting a Tarkin on a Vintage Card. Now go make the Cantina Band Member, Han and Luke in stormptrooper disguises, Vader with Sebastian Shaw head, Leia Slave, and some others! ;D
-
I am excited to hear this. Tarkin, along with Wedge, Slave Leia and some others are really the main reason I'm excited about the Vintage line. I'm much more interested in the figures we didn't get as opposed to the ones we did. Unless you know, one of those figures is the Gamorrean Guard.
Hopefully we will see Slave Leia, Luke and Han Stormtroopers, and the Cantina Band Member soon.

I feel the same way. Against my better judgement, I've been trying to keep a carded set of the OT characters in this line as well - at least as long as I can afford it. I'm in the camp of wanting to see those figures on vintage cardbacks as well, particularly those characters/figures that sort of "should" have been in the original vintage line like Stormie Han, Slave Leia, Cantina Band, Tarkin, RFT, etc.
