Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Has technology passed you by?

I like to keep up on some stuff.  I've got the fancy satellite/DVR subscription.  I can't justify the expense for the Ipod, Iphone, nex gen game consoles, or super duper cell phone.  Hell, I haven't even bought my LCD TV yet.  I know how to work the stuff on my cell, at least most of it, and I do text but often prefer a call.

Windows Vista...installed on my new laptop when I bought it.  I hate the Word program because you have to download some sort of patch to make old documents load up on the new version.  Total pain in the ass.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: JD Book Club: What Are You Reading Now?

Started reading a book called "Death Traps" by Belton Cooper who was with the 3d Amored Division during WWII as member of the Maintenance Battalion.  Really good read for WWII buffs or someone who is interested in exactly how inferior the American armor was compared to the German armor.  It really gets down to the nuts and bolts of keeping an armored division battle ready.

Was almost 80 yesterday and I played ball last night and it was still 70 outside.  Today, should get in the low 80's and tomorrow we'll actually see fall show up as the temp starts dipping from 65 and should be about 40 by the evening.

Gotta love Texas weather.

Watto's Junk Yard / Prayers for my wife and I
« on: November 14, 2007, 03:39 PM »
It's odd how quickly life can change. I have been so excited the past 4 months that my wife was going to give birth to our first child in May. We went to the doctor on Monday for a checkup and sonogram. The sonogram showed the heartbeat we had seen in the previous two was no longer there. So this morning my wife had surgery and thankfully is resting now after the two of us have been pretty much sleepless since Monday morning.

For those of you that pray, please do so. We were so excited and thought we were out of the "dark" time of pregnancy only to have this happen. Only those who have had this happen or have kids can understand how truly devastated we are.  Sadly the next time she gets pregnant, we are going to have a constant fear hanging over us.

Last night I was playing softball in shorts.  Temp was 70 or so when the game ended at 745.  By the time I got up this morning, temp was in the 40's.  We may top out at 65 today.

I give last night a decent review. I really enjoyed it and actually had some good laughs out of it.  Now, we just need to get Jim and Dwight against each other and all will be well.

Vintage Kenner / Re: Price range of Blue Snaggletooth?

Did pretty good at $60 for the one you got.  I'm going to rub this in a bit...back in the first part of they year, I picked up a pretty good Carbonite Han MOC, slightly yellowed bubble and probably C7 back for $95 shipped.  Auction was ending in the middle of the afternoon so there wasn't really anybody to bid against.

As for the original question, Dale nailed it.  I've been passively looking for one lately, but I feel like the price has spiked a bit so I've been laying off.  It may just be my imagination though.

Congrats!!!  I say this all the time, but every time I see an announcement it gets me that much more excited for the one that will arrive for my wife and I in May.

Well, it was decent, but didn't have any just fall on your butt laughs.  There was potential with Dwight in 2nd Life, but Jim didn't really do anything with it.  I think that's what this season is missing, no pranks on Dwight.

Vintage Kenner / Re: Polish Bootlegs

I picked up the two Hoth Han's from him and thought about the pink/gray version of the original Han, but decided it was too rich for my blood.  I do already have one though.  Eventually I'll get some pics up of my three boots and the rest of my collection, I just need to get a working digital camera and new software on the computer.

Did you pick those up from Doug over at RS?  Those are some really, really nice boots.

I grabbed a couple from him, both Han Solo.  Below is the newest one I got.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Changing Collecting Habits? NEED ADVICE!
« on: October 19, 2007, 10:29 PM »
Like many, I started "collecting" with the POTF2 line when I was in college in '95.  I collected all the figures up until the Saga line and then it was just too much.  I was trying to collect vintage stuff and modern and it was making me broke.  So I decided to just focus on modern/vintage Han and began selling off my modern stuff.  I sold it by collections, POTF2, EpI, POTJ, Saga and eventually got it sold off last year after two years of trying to get it dumped.  I then sold all my modern Han stuff because it was getting to be too much and now I'm almost exclusively vintage.  I still grab the micro busts and the occassional cool figure, but don't grab  much else.  I've since picked up a SS Bespin Han and the VOTC Han's and that's about it.  I can display all my loose stuff in two Ikea cabinets and have my MOC figures on my wall.

I say dump the stuff you don't like, can live without, look like dollar signs, or whatever.  Collect what you really like and dump the rest...it's just stuff taking up room in your house.

That's my .02 and coming from my expirience.

The way my day went yesterday, I'm not surprised the joke went right over my head.  Check out my new addition to my signature though.  I don't know why, but I about tossed my cookies laughing at that comment last night.

Answer.  How can you define this as the funniest show ever when you can't possibly have seen all the shows on TV in all languages.  A person would not have enough to time in their life to work and/i] see all of the world's funniest TV shows.  By using this logic, it is impossible to determine.
