Watto's Junk Yard / Disney Cruise Lines and Star Wars
« on: April 21, 2015, 10:21 AM »
You've all heard that Disney is doing Star Wars Day at Sea onboard the Disney Fantasy, right?

Well today, Disney showed off some of the new experiences coming to the Disney Dream:

"In Disney’s Oceaneer Club, kids are in for an out-of-this-galaxy experience in a newly themed play, Star Wars: Millennium Falcon, inspired by the spacecraft from the legendary saga."

Disney does such an amazing job with the Oceaneer Club and that Falcon set-up is amazing play area for kids.  We've gone on two Disney cruises and the kids always have a blast at Oceaneer Club.  The last cruise we went on (Disney Magic) had an Avengers Academy set-up where they got to meet "Iron Man" and "Captain America" and take an avengers training session.

Droid Factory R4-D23 Astromech (blurry pic, sorry!)

No details yet that I've seen other than it will be sold as part of Disney's D23 convention this year...

edit:
Here's a better pic from Vinylmation

Droid Factory Holographic R2-D2

No details yet that I've seen other than it's a Star Wars Weekends exclusive so it'll be sold starting with SWW this summer.

The Black Series 3.75" / TRU "Jabba's Rancor Pit" Battle Pack
« on: April 10, 2015, 10:51 AM »
Took a long time for this rumored set to show up...

According to Rebelscum and the UK TRU computer system, looks like there may be some kind of Cantina and Jabba's Palace/Rancor Battle Packs coming this Fall

Saw this on Dan Curto's facebook page - Jabba's Rancor Pit Box Set

Besides the pic, there are no details other than it's probably a TRU exclusive box of stuff you probably already own (just like TRU's Endor/AT-ST box set last year).

Star Wars Universe / Star Wars: The Digital Movie Collection
« on: April 7, 2015, 10:10 AM »
Finally officially announced:
- Star Wars: The Digital Movie Collection Announcement
- Star Wars: The Digital Movie Collection Trailer and Vendor list

Is anyone else really tired of buying and rebuying these movies?

I bought the VHS trilogy.  Then the SE versions on VHS.  Then Ep1 on VHS.  Then the SE versions on DVD.  Then the prequel DVDs.  Then the SE versions with the original cuts bonus DVD.  Then the Bluray saga set.

Now, they want to milk me for another $90 for digital copies?   I don't think I can do it.  :-\

The Black Series 3.75" / Celebration Anaheim 2015
« on: March 25, 2015, 09:35 AM »
Celebration coming up in just a few weeks...  but no Hasbro panel.   :(

I felt bad for Hasbro yesterday as it was a no win situation for them most likely.  They haven't been given the green light to show off the Ep7 toys, so they were kinda stuck - host no panel and get accused of trying to avoid facing the fans or host a panel showing off farting furby and foam lightsabers and it's Toy Fair anger all over again from the usual suspects.   :-\

Anyway, just starting a thread here in case Hasbro does manage to show off something new at their Celebration booth... which may still happen even without a big 60-minute panel.

Other Collectibles / Bandai Star Wars Converge Figures
« on: March 17, 2015, 10:39 PM »
Anyone buying these?  (Yes, it's ANOTHER new Star Wars line/scale from Japan :P)

Series 1 (Vader, Stormtrooper, Yoda, R2-D2) came out a little while ago and Bandai just announced Series 2 (Jango, AOTC Clone, C-3PO, Maul).

The latent Kubrick collector in me keeps thinking I should at least check these out...  :-\

Other Collectibles / Star Wars Nendoroid Figures
« on: March 5, 2015, 11:03 PM »
Japan + Super Deformed + Star Wars = Star Wars Nendoroid Figures :P

Star Wars Nendoroid Figures Up for Pre-Order @ BBTS - Darth Vader ($55) and Stormtrooper ($45)

Also up for Pre-Order at HLJ for those buying other Japan items from them.

I still can't get over the explosion of Star Wars figures from Japan...  so much new product there at a time when new Star Wars toys/collectibles in the US is dropping to 15 year lows.

I'm not 100% sure how this Humble Bundle thing works since I've never bought one before (you pay $$$ for stuff, money goes to charity I guess?), but this looks almost too good to be true -

Repacks of 5POA figures in a plain white box?  Uh...  pass.

Anyone legitimately thinking about buying these?
