Title: "Stupendous ****-up"
Post by: BillCable on December 8, 2005, 10:05 PM
Gentlemen, I think we have a new candidate for those "Want to get away" Southwest commercials...

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,3-1917093,00.html

I've read about traders taking down their companies before... but never by accident.  Dude needs a do-over something fierce.  It's scary to think that one guy with a computer can almost destroy an entire country's economy.

Oh man...  That's a priceless read Bill, thanks.  Rough news for that guy though, he'll be lucky to survive the week especially if there's no repeal from the exchange.

That sucks for that trader hopefully the exchange will reverse the trade to help the company and the nation's economy since it sounds like it may affect this.

There are so many "bad typing" jokes here, but this story is funny enough on it's own.

"Makoto Fukuda, the company’s president, said that it expected a loss of 27 billion yen, which could rise above 30 billion but would not endanger its financial health. "

Heh heh.   His name if Fukuda.

If he has a sliver of the honor his grandfathers did, he'd have committed hara kiri by now.
