Journey into the fearsome Galactic Empire through the eyes of two warriors on divergent paths — Nightsister Morgan Elsbeth and former Jedi Barriss Offee. Like the first season following Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku, Tales of the Empire focuses on previously untold events in the lives of the featured characters. The trailer teases that we’ll learn how a young Morgan Elsbeth navigates the expanding Imperial world towards a path of vengeance, while former Jedi Barriss Offee does what she must to survive a rapidly changing galaxy. The choices they make will define their destinies.

I thought the first round was pretty solid.  Brief, but solid.  I'm looking forward to a second season.

It’s interesting seeing how the Barriss Offee storyline will pick up from her imprisonment - seemingly at the Citadel.  And I’m happy to hear that Jason Isaacs is back as the voice of the Grand Inquisitor.

Exploring the backstory of Morgan Elsbeth is an unexpected twist.  And in light of her prominence in AHSOKA?  I definitely want to know more about her.

I watched the first three of these last night and enjoyed them. The animation is great. I’m not a big fan of this whole cultural trend of glorifying villains, but they were fun episodes to watch.

I liked the three Bariss stories better than the Morgan episodes.

It's been a while, so I guess I can get spoilery - SPOILER WARNING

I guess I was wanting more from the Morgan episodes.  Her whole motivation for joining up with Thrawn/The Empire was "**** the Separatists, that's why"?  And what was her deal on Corvus?  The Separatist destroyed her home and family so now she's going to do the same to a random planet in her quest for revenge against the Separatists who aren't even a thing anymore...  uh, ok.

They were fine I guess, but not what I was hoping for I guess.

I took some of Morgan's motivation as she thought that she could only count on herself.  Night Sisters in her clan failed her.  And so did the Mountain clan.  She encountered the corruption within the Empire.  So people became a "resource" to her.

Overall I agree.  I liked the "Tales of the Jedi" a lot more than the "Tales of the Empire".

The Bariss stories were better, but still not great.  I liked seeing some of the origins of The Inquisitors and would have liked to see a bit more in this area.

I was pretty disappointed with the Morgan stories.  The first one was solid, but then the next two were pretty stupid.  There could have definitely been a much better tie between Thrawn and Morgan if that was the back story they were shooting for.

Maybe the whole six story series could have been on the backstory of The Inquisitors with Bariss in the mix.
