Title: Defender Wishlists 2010 Discussion
Post by: Scott on February 15, 2010, 09:52 AM
And it has begun...TPM is up

No figures last year...but 3 of the top 10 were in the ToyFare poll, I'd say that is good enough to get on Hasbro's radar but I guess we'll see what the readers say.

I'm still voting for stuff I want even if it made the Toy Fare top 30.

At Toy Fair, Hasbro hinted that there were several choices on that Top 30 list that probably won't get made anytime soon, even though they are popular fan choices (Quadrinaros, Jocasta, etc).

I'm not even sure where to start with TPM right now.  I'd say that's a line I'm pretty content on at this point.  I'm gonna have to really think on it.  SA Purple Padme and Anakin come to mind though.

I'm sort of in the same boat with TPM.  I'm up for whatever everyone else wants, but a lot of the figures I'd like to see would be upgrades of TPM figures that haven't been improved yet (SA Anakin, Padme, Jar Jar, Panaka, etc.).  Other podracers are great too, and I know Senators make the lists a lot - although I don't know if they are quite as likely with Hasbro being more afraid of "collector" figures - particularly boring ones like Senators.

Panaka would be a snap with a new head for the Typho body...the undone Padme is pretty much my only true want as well as the other SA resculpts (Anakin, JJB, Padme Tat and Battle, 3PO etc)

I am also content with dumping the ToyFare 30 from my lists, I see most other people aren't...diffren' strokes

2 I'd like are the Naboo Soldier and Naboo Guard getting redone (the guy in the red padded helmet/suit and the guy in the brown hat).  They're the two most prominent "soldiers" the Naboo have and they're basically dicked over as action figures.  Even that flight crew guy that was being pawned off as a "Trooper" has a shockingly superior figure to the two original army builders for Naboo.

Considering the guys in the helmets turn up later in other movies and things, I'd really like to see those get their due...

A Naboo Pilot with a cloth trench coat would go a long way with me these days too.  Ric Olie's just kinda meh.  I'd be quite happy if it was a redo of him even.  He's generic enough to suit me.

After doing a little more thinking, I realized that Aurra Sing is in definite need of an upgrade from the POTJ version.  I'd love to see some articulation added to this cool bounty hunter.

So FYI Scott, I added her to my list.

Oh, that's a good call, forgot about her.  I had thought about that after seeing the upcoming CW version as well, but forgot when I made my list.  Good choice Jesse.

Do people really want Eeth Koth that bad?  Agen Kolar isn't good enough?  I realize he doesn't have a robe but man, its splitting hairs IMO

Same goes for Adi Gallia/Stass Allie

Its your lists and I realize TPM is figure wish lacking, but to me it seems like wastes of spots :-\

Yeah, I agree, the Naboo Security, Guard and Pilots need the SA treatment. I'd get at least 5 of each if not more.

I know I'm going to get the CW Aurra Sing fig. For now that one will do until/unless Hasbro ever makes a proper SA realistic version of her.

Pondering my AotC Wishlist...

I don't really feel like voting for 5-6 Padmes again this year...  but at the same time, there's really not a ton left from Ep2 that I want, and I do want the Padmes.  Hmm...

Even in the world of SA resculpts, there isn't much from AOTC I really really really want.  Cliegg would be nice and a SA Zam are probably the tops of stuff

They have made most of the major Jedi (except Barriss) and all of the Clones...all that is really left is Padme IMO.

Oh and the Outlander Club...which I just don't find that interesting and hugely wasted opportunity of the Prequels.

You know, I always felt the same way about the Outlander Club.  Such a wasted opportunity.  Lucas often talks about how the "technology" wasn't there for things like the original Cantina sequence, and at least at one point he was disappointed with it.  Then he started making the prequels after seeing the work on Jurassic Park, and knowing the tech had caught up with his ideas.  He had an excellent chance with the Outlander Club to go crazy with aliens again, but the majority of the patrons there are humans, or humanoid like...and fairly boring I think.

Agreed with the AOTC list...with pretty much perfect versions of Obi-Wan, Anakin, and most of the Jedi, it mainly falls down to Padmes here as well.  Aside from that, I think my two most wanted figures are a new C-3PO and Zam Wessell.

Eh, I just went with the Padmes. I figure I might as well keep putting them on there because we rarely get AOTC waves, so why not. I mainly just want a new Zam, Cliegg and an SA lil' Boba (probably the only one there), followed by the obscure stuff like Dorme and Queen Jamilla. Good call on C-3PO though, Brian, I totally forgot about that one, and it's a good possibility after getting the awesome U-3PO BAD.

Since Scott wrapped up the latest (AOTC) vote, I'm down with all but 4 of those as pretty cool to me...  The other 4 are kind of yawners, but not figures I'd turn my nose at either, I just wouldn't be excited paying $8 for them.

Some cool choices...  Zam was my top want, with Anakin Peasant #2, so I like seeing both make the list.

The AOTC poll results were not terribly inspiring as far as character choices go.  I think there are definitely some more visually interesting characters from Episode II that have fallen by the wayside.  And the poll didn't feature anywhere near enough Jedi.  Especially since the arena battle is the single biggest gathering of Jedi in the entire Saga.

WHo is left to do?  I could see a SA Trebor and Jill but the no name humans don't really need figures and most of the big names have been done ad naseum.

I personally want more Senators and Separtists which are both retail suicide.  The Outlander Club is weird looking ladies that again probably aren't big sellers either.  So...that leaves a few resculpts, undone Padmes and a whole bunch of crap.  To me, AOTC is the third most complete film behind ESB and ROTS.  Because to be honest, outside of a few, there is not much left I really really want

The spirit of fan driven polls seems to be picking out those characters that might not otherwise be considered for figures.  Isn't that what drove the ICMG poll for all those years?  Those of us who are involved with the day to day operations of collecting sites certainly have a little bit of insight into Hasbro's process, but that kind of rationale didn't impact my own choices for the AOTC poll.

I'd kind of like seeing Geonosis 2-packs continue at Target to flesh out some more of the human Jedi...  For me, I think the two that toss Ani and Obi sabers are the only two I really want though.  And I do want them to a decent extent, but that's about it.  Whether they happen there or elsewhere, whatever, but they'd rank high on my list with Zam there.  Otherwise I'd be ok with Hasbro going the army building route and slipping a new headsculpt on an existing body in the regular line as filler or something, even if it's not a particular arena Jedi...  The two falsely accused N'Sync members would be nice to have though since they do get the face time.

The only others I want are redoes of Pablo Jill, Barriss Offee, and I wouldn't mind seeing Shaak Tii get her articulation upgraded.  Maybe Mace getting a new headsculpt and softgoods wouldn't hurt either since that's one nobody's ever totally satisfied with (though I was ok with the 30AC figure for the most part).

I agree on the Outlander Club...  The street outside had more interesting looking characters than the club itself, and even then...   :-\  I also agree on Senators/Separatists but they're suicide like you said Scott...  One here and there gets made, and I'm ok with that kind of pace on that stuff.

Man, talk about a real peg warming lineup that would make Yarna look like a run away hit.

I picked three off of the final list but after seeing these results it's very apparent this movie has been mined to the bottom of the barrel, perhaps underneath the bottom of the barrel at this point. You know it's bad when an old, one legged crippled farmer who floats on a hover Lark leads the pack followed by an old Librarian in the fifth spot.

C'mon guys don't lie to yourselves this list of characters is really hilariously telling that we reached a point in the line where no one can fault Hasbro for redoing core characters as much as they do. Too funny.

Naboo Picnic Padme still isn't making the list.  :'( That's my favorite one of the Padmes. (Yeah, I know people will complain, "pegwarmer" but it's what I like and want).

I'm a "vote for what you actually really want" kind of guy...  I'll vote for figures I'm pretty sure are coming even if they're semi-confirmed, just because it's what I want.  So if you want Padme, or a new Mace Windu, or 3rd droid from the left that didn't do anything...  I say go for it.

I myself am not a Padme guy, but to go with Outland Disguise Ani I'd like the Outland Padme...  Lots of stuff people want is going to pegwarm.  The same applied 10 years ago, so it's not something I even consider when voting.  The collecting community's wanted pegwarmers for over a decade.

I always vote for what I want, even if it seems like retail pegwarming poison.

There are plenty of ways to get around "peg-warmer" anyway - short-pack, exclusive, box set, etc.  Are Senators/Separatists/Padmes potentially boring and potential peg-warmers?  Probably.  However like others have said, if they mix them in with some sort of army builder / battle pack, anything is possible...

I agree with Scott and Jesse in that there really doesn't seem like a whole lot to do from AOTC at this point.  A few resculpts (like Zam, Outland Anakin), a few Padmes, and the rest is Senator types for the most part.  I mean, there will always be more to do from these movies, but this list in particular really shows how short the list is getting at this point.  I'm all for more Padmes, and would buy them all, but outside of that (and figures like Cleigg and Zam), I'm pretty satisfied with our AOTC lineup at this point.  There are few Jedi resculpts (and new ones) that have been mentioned here that would be good too.

Like I said, I'd gladly buy a number (actually, probably all) of these figures, but when I first saw the Top 10, it looked like a pretty boring lineup for the most part - particularly for mass retail.  I guess in a way that is a good thing though, as it shows that if for some reason the movie line is winding down, we're getting close to getting most of what everyone wants at this point.  I am disappointed that a new AOTC C-3PO didn't make the list.  I guess he's got a decent shot at getting made anyways (wasn't he rumored for a "sequel" to the Geonosis packs, if they happened?), but that's one of my most wanted figures for this movie as well.  The current best version out there is probably that deluxe one from the Saga line I believe, and that isn't anything spectacular.

Exactly...  That's why I'd like the pseudo-N'Sync Jedi to come out, but I'm ok with re-used parts, new heads, and part of further Geonosis 2-packs, ya know?  I liked the two human Jedi we got last night in those sets, so 2-packs and maybe not totally accurate body sculpts are fine by me, so long as they're decent in the articulation department.  They probably wouldn't be as exciting on the pegs as a weird alien Jedi by comparison.

I've always thought that the Outlander Club in AOTC was a bit of a missed opportunity.  We've seen/heard all the times that Lucas was "disappointed" with what his budget/effects would allow for the Cantina back with the original Star Wars and he had a chance to really go for it in the prequels with all the CGI and budget available now, and he filled the Outlander club with pretty much all humans - and not necessarily exciting ones for the most part.

Yup, a lot of very human-ish aliens, humans, and not a ton more...  Lucas definitely missed turning the Outlander Club into something better than it was.  I'm kind of glad his budget wasn't there for STar Wars because it seems to me that with a budget he didn't do anything nearly as cool.

I'm disappointed, but not surprised, as Hasbro's currently written-off CW2D stuff and CW3D is the more likely thing to happen...  It's maybe tossing your vote in the trash but I refused to vote for anything but what I really wanted.  I was glad the head-wrap guy got in there though. :)

10.) Senate Duel Palpatine

I like your attitude Knuckleheads the Squirrel.  I have been waiting forever for this figure, I worry I will wait literally, FOREVER.  He has lines! He is referenced by name! HE IS THE WHOLE REASON ANAKIN WENT TO MUSTAFAR IN THE FIRST PLACE! Nute is actually plot significant.  I hope everyone gets "that one figure" they want made.  This guy is mine.

Firstly, we're already getting Senate Duel Palpy in the upcoming ROTS wave.

And, secondly, good point! And if Hasbro thinks that this figure will be a pegwarmer, then they should release him in limited quantities like Ice Cream Maker Dude!

RE: ROTS

Nute Gunray was 11th on the list if anyone is interested...not sure if I should count Cin since he is coming in 2011...but I'll leave him on there
Lots of votes for the Magna Guard which is confirmed for this year
I was surprised at all of the votes for Jedi resculpts (Coleman, aayla, saesee, shaak and Ki adi)
NOT 1 for Queen Apilainia which is to me another indication that the latest ToyFare poll was bull****.

RE: ANH

Not sure what to think on Owen Lars and Imperial Commander from last years list.  It will be interesting to see if people vote for them considering the Commander in the Endor Battle Packs and the upcoming Comic Pack Owen.

The Jedi resculpts are part of what I'm living for at this point from this line...  Shaak Ti especially could use a bump.  Coleman Trebor made the list?  He died in AOTC, so ROTS is an odd list for him to make...  Aayla I could see improving her arm articulation at least.  Saesee, eh...  He did so poorly in Legends I almost hate to see him out again.  Ki Adi, I guess I'd buy with better arms and ankles since mine's poseable but could stand a bit more.

Barriss Offee is my #1 Jedi resculpt with Shaak Ti though.  Those two need it desperately.  Then I'd slap Pablo Jill (and anyone who looks just like him but shows up in ROTS) in there as well because he's freaky and lacks a lot of articulation on his one and only figure.

I debated back and forth on Owen... I want a new one, but the comic pack one may be sufficient.  It's hard to say without having seen better shots of him yet.  In the end, I decided he'll probably be fine, so I voted for a new ANH Leia in his place.

And Scott, can you post one of your "how has Hasbro done" type updates for ANH?  It seems like the past few years (08-10), we've been getting 3-5 knocked off the top ten each year.  It always seems to me that ANH is the one spot where Hasbro and the fans are in sync with them making a lot of the stuff we want (Cantina Aliens, Red Leader, etc).

Coleman Trebor gets offed by Jango in the Arena in Episode 2...

Coleman Kcaj is the same alien/species as Pablo Jill (from Episode 2), but just hanging around the Jedi Council in Episode 3?  And just happens to have the whole "Coleman" name going on too, to, ya know, make things fun to keep straight...

OK.  :)

I was somewhat on the fence about including a couple of figures on my ANH list.

First, Bom Vimdim.  Hasbro has been telling us for at least a couple of years now that he's on the way.  My question:  When?  I feel somewhat confident that Bom Vimdim is on the way in the next 12 months, but I also wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro said "Not so fast!"

Then, Owen Lars.  He's been on my own ANH wishlist for years.  The exclusive comic 2-pack with Uncle Owen and cyborg Darth Maul looks like it MAY fit the bill.  So for now Uncle Owen came off of my list.

Jedi Defender.... I love the polls you run every spring leading up to ComicCon... but in the case of ESB, at this late date the format of your polling begins to suffer.  Truth be told, ESB has been thoroughly
covered by Kenner?Hasbro.

Being a collector who typically favors new releases far more than resculpts, I fear your poll format--in the case of ESB at least (probably ROTS also)--tends to favor resculpts simply because there is so little left to do.

Seriously, I couldnt actually come up with ten new releases for ESB.  The R2 units I listed below?  Im not sure they were even in the move--but someone else voted for them a year ag0--and since Im always interested in new droids I listed them.  But the point is:  there are virtually no meaningful new releases left for ESB (and again, ROTS is almost there too).

For this reason, I wonder if in future years you may want to consider changing the categories.  Instead of voting by movie, perhaps by army builders, and aliens, and droids, etc.  Or something like that.

I recognize Hasbro tends to release in movie based waves... but perhaps a major fan site like yourselves mixing things up might lead to Hasbro eventually doing the same.

Guaranteeing ten slots in the final voting to ESB guarantees too many rescupts in the mix over new releases.  And this, I fear, may further alter Hasbros perspective on what many collectors want.

In my case--that is NOT resculpts.

Anyway... consider yourselves 2 cents richer.  Here are my votes:

-Rash Flembar-

 ::) :o :-*

And I'm going to respectfully disagree that most collectors want just all new figures.

#1 For a while now, Hasbro has done themed waves
#2 Most of the resculpts being voted for are very much needed updates of POTF2 era figures
#3 Past uber wishlist results have consistently put a lot of OT resculpts at the top of the lists, take the top 10 of last years Tournament of Champions:

6 of the top 10 are resculpts.

I personally would much rather have a new ultimate Han Bespin or Hoth Luke over pretty much every character that was on any of the PT lists

#4 Coming up next is ROTJ a film chock full of unmade stuff...that list will be chock full of resculpts mainly because of the reasons stated above

I also have to respectfully disagree. Han Bespin is and has been my most wanted figure. I am happy that he will be 100% new based on a recent Q&A. Right now I find myself wanting more resculpts than new characters. My want ratio stands at 65/35 65% Resculpts and 35% New which really coincides with Scotts analysis above. (BTW - I love those characters choices above!)

I will take the resculpts over real losers like:
Lee Phenets, Human Ugnaught - Useless to the 10th Power
Wiorkettle - Snaggletooth in a blue Moo-Moo
Tian chyler - Your kidding right?
White, silver, and maroon R5 unit (Echobase) R3-P5/yellow & grey astro Yellow & Black R2 unit (I have enough units to satisfy my wants)
Treva Horme - Same as the Moo-Moo Snags.

Yeah I'll take the resculpts, sorry but I had to rip into some of those characters. I could not help it. If the line consisted of that list consider it dead. It would be the 2008 Crash of Yarna. (We all wanted Yarna but can the same be said of Tian Chyler?

Slap me into the "I want resculpts" category, probably more than "new" figures even...  Case(s)-in-point:

-Rebel Fleet Trooper
-Endor Rebel(s)
-Tarkin (ANH)
-Doc Evazan
-Imperial Officers
-New E2 Obi-Wan, E1 Obi-Wan, etc.
-Zam Wessel

Some of those we got are are getting, but the point being they're all figures that came in very high in my "wants".

Of all-new stuff I want, the only name that immediately pops into my head that I really would like is Garrouf Lafoe from the Cantina, or some of Jabba's Docking Bay 94 human goons from the SPecial Edition.

To me, I'm at the stage where I want to see a lot of stuff brought up to the level of quality that the line's at right now.  That means super articulated Rebel Fleet Troopers with removable helmets and working holsters, a great generic Imperial officer with all the articulation, a new Tarkin...

Hell I was just thinking the other day how Lando gets the shaft, and how I'd take a "Bespin Escape" Lando without the cape, an all-new SKiff Lando, and an all-new Pilot Lando...  New Ackbar, new Prune Face/Orrimarko, new Nein Numb, new Gam. Guard...  New Owen & Beru too...

I want a brown vested Hoth Rebel pretty bad so there's an all-new one I want too I guess, but my "all new" list is definitely smaller right now.  I'm sure it'll grow though, as resculpts flesh out the line of the characters I consider more important though.

My new stuff wants pretty much consists of cantina aliens and Jabba's palace goons. I don't care how obscure as long as they look neat and add a bit more color, and for the most part I get them, Hasbro is usually pretty good at cranking out 2-3 new ones every year or so while also giving us resculpts and reissues of the more important characters. There's a balance that needs to be maintained. As much as I'd love a wave full of cantina guys that have never been made, it would likely rot on the pegs and harm the line.

Yeah, I think I'm in the "I want resculpts" camp as well.  Not that I don't like seeing new figures, they are always welcome, but like many have said we're really starting to scrape the bottom for this line anymore - with almost any movie (outside of maybe ROTJ).  An all-new, super duper fantabulous Bespin Han Solo is my number one most wanted figure, and like Jesse already mentioned in his post, I've been hoping for some new Landos as well (Skiff in particular).  I think we're starting to see more and more of this on the wishlists, and I'm all for those as well (Ackbar, Gam Guard, RFT, Leia, Hoth Leia, Hoth Luke, Wicket...the list goes on).  I can see why some people don't like getting "re-dos" all the time, but honestly, the line has come so far since the POTF2 days and I think Hasbro could really do some amazing things with a lot of these characters now.  Plus, I'm starting to get the feeling that - unless something changes in sales and/or media (shows/movies) - the "movie" line might be slowing down even more after the next couple years, so like Jesse mentioned, I'd like to see more of that stuff brought "up to snuff" with the newer figures.

I don't know about you guys but my buying of upgraded figures depends on a couple of things,

First, does the resculpt actually look good. When I saw the revamped Cody at the toy fair, I thought I had to have one, but then I saw the mass production version and it just didn't look that great to me so I ended up passing.

Second, is how much I like the character or design of the character.  For example, I also passed on the legacy Agen Kolar,  I figured the one I had, was good enough. If I'd been a major Kolar fan ( I'm sure he has some!) it would have been a different story, because all they have to do is resculpt Chewbacca's noggin and I'm picking one up before I know it.

It was really hard for me to find some things for my Empire list that were truly new or cool.  But that's how I wound up picking the Asteroid Victim Imperial Officer.  That's one of the quirky little things that came from Empire and it really struck me that this guy needs a figure.

I find that I tend to buy anything from Hasbro. As long as it isn't a straight rehash, I'll buy it. However, I tend to buy lightsaber-wielding characters more. I can see a brand new Han Solo and a slighty tweaked Vader on the pegs, and I'll go for Vader. I always miss out on the blaster-wielding characters, mostly because they just don't have the appeal - unless they're bounty hunters. I'm always up for getting characters like Rum Sleg, Zam Wesell, Jango Fett... etc.

That said, that's why most of the figures in my wishlists are resculpts/upgrades of Jedi characters (Shaak Ti, Aalya...). I've never been one to buy Cantina characters - I have not one Cantina patron (besides Greedo, if he counts). I don't see anything cool about them - yeah, it's dainty that they have bar glasses, but I'd much rather buy a, say, SA Agen Kolra then a Leesub Sirlin type. That's also why I'm pretty much one of the few who will actually buy a new Plo Koon every time he's released. ;D

I am sorry if I sound like a jerk but on a side note I really laughed my arse off with some of the choices appearing here: The Statue, the British Padawan even Padmes Mom and Dad!!

I missed this a while back, but I *need* Padme's mom and dad so I can make the funeral procession diorama.

If I could have any "new" figures right now this is what I'd ask for...a Holo Chess sub set like the McQuarrie figures.  There are eight Djerik charcters, and one would come in each wave.  These would be realistic versions of the beasts.  Two of them would be big, Ephont Mon type sculpts, the rest would be smaller.

A year later, Hasbro could release 2 four packs of the same sculpts in clear plastic hologram versions...and they'd just about be the size they were in the movie!

Just checking out the ESB list results, and I really like that list overall.  It has often been discussed that Empire is one of the most fleshed out/complete movies in action figure form, and I think you kind of see that with the lists.  They seem to have been fairly consistent for awhile now, with a few changes here and there.  A good wave or two, and Hasbro could almost finish everything off (within reason).

WOW!  Very happy with the TESB results.  I went 7/10 on that.  And it's nice to see that Hoth Spirit Obi-Wan on there, too.  But no love for the Asteroid Victim Imperial Officer.  :(  Well, that's something to shoot for next year.

I think they could easily give us a Echo Hoth Rebel and then give us a Hoth Luke using a lot of the same tooling.

Han and Lando are pretty major upgrades and need to get done.  Its too bad they are moving away from themed waves because like Brian says...with a Bespin Wave and a Hoth Wave:

Hoth Rebel Soldier
Luke Skywalker (Hoth)
Toryn Farr
Obi-Wan Kenobi (Force Spirit)
Wedge Antilles (Snowspeeder)
Admiral Piett

Lando Calrissian
Han Solo (Bespin)
Treva Horme
Lt Sheckil
Wiorkettle
Bespin Guard (Vintage)

Done and Done

I'm sort of surprised Dagobah Luke did NOT make it.  He's a main character, and while the old one looks good as a one (or two in this case) trick pony, it's limited for a character that was basically running around exercising for a while.  I'd really enjoy seeing him with the new Bespin Luke's legs and some articulated arms...  I'm working on a cloth backpack for Yoda myself. ;)

Otherwise ESB's got a bit left in it.  Lt. Sheckil and the Echo Base Rebel are two stand-outs to me, as is the Hoth Technician...  and I agree on Lando though I don't recall if I voted for him or not, Hoth Han, and Bespin Han.  They're musts at this point.  And hopefully any future Lando has a removable cape for escaping fun.

I think Carbonite Han can be redone greatly as well...  I'd dig that one for sure.

I'd kind of like, "Our first catch of the day" smartass officer too...  ESB's got a bit left IMO.  It's tame on alien weirdness, but a lot of alien weirdness is pretty obscure stuff too.

I'm sort of surprised Dagobah Luke did NOT make it.

For me, it comes down to not wanting to put two Luke resculpts on my list and I want a new Hoth Luke more than Dagobah Luke. Once we get that new SA Hoth Luke, Dagobah Luke will most likely replace him on my list...

Same goes for Han - I'd love a new ESB Carbonite Han, but until they give us an ultimate Bespin Han, I'm voting for Bespin.

I think he'd be cool, too, though I can see why it gets lack of votes: Holo figure. Definitely would love to see the Tauntaun Handler get some love too. He's a cool background character, like the technicians on the Star Destroyer and all. Also would love a new Carbonite Han as well, though I'd love to get the melted box version someday.

I agree Jesse, I'd sort of like to see a new Dagobah Luke as well.  The last version is nifty for what it is, but I wouldn't mind seeing a SA version down the road.  Much like Jeff, I simply leave him off because if I had to choose one Luke from ESB to get, I'd rather have the Hoth resculpt.  I'm definitely down for a new Dagobah Luke as well though.

I think there's the potential for him to be interesting.  If he's half-holo figure and half de-rezzed hologram I think it would look really cool.

Campaign time!

Attention People of JediDefender:  I cannot begin to tell you how badly we need to get Crimson Jack (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Crimson_Jack) and Jolli (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jolli) figures.  I urge (command?) you to add them to your EU Wishlists.  Yes they are from Marvel Star Wars, but they do not suck like ugly-color RFT or Tarkin do!

In addition to being the very first Star Wars comic I bought as a kid, Marvel Star Wars #15 had it all - space battles! Y-Wings on kamakazi runs at star destroyers!  Two guys wearing scuba gear in space and shooting at each other!  What more could you want in a comic?!?

Please vote for them and maybe, just maybe we can get Hasbro to give me us the Marvel Star Wars #15 Comic Pack that I we so desperately need.  Thanks in advance for your votes.

Your Pal,
Jeff

My EU wishlist is going to be pretty similar to last year's.  For the most part those characters are coming from either video games or modern comics.  And given Hasbro's tendency to go with video game sourced EU characters?  I guess those characters may stand more of a chance of getting made.

As for the comic characters?  I read some of the Marvel Star Wars series when I was a kid, and it just didn't resonate then.  I remember Dani in particular, and just thinking back then about how ridiculous the character came across in those issues.  If Lucasfilm had some tighter reins on the Marvel writers back in the day like they do with the Dark Horse people now, I think we would have seen some very different stories and characters.

30 years later and my feelings about the Marvel Star Wars comics are pretty much the same.  The artwork was on par with other Marvel books, but in that era most comic art was kind of weak.  Especially compared with what you see now.  And the difference in comic writing in the late 70's/early 80's compared to the past decade is like night and day.  Granted, the comic book business is far different now than it was in 1980.  Books cost a lot more to make now and they're printed on much better stock.  And overall that industry has grown with their audience.  But I'm sorry Jeff, I can't get behind characters like Crimson Jack.  The material just doesn't resonate enough with me.  And my overall dislike of that era led to me skipping the last few Marvel comic packs.

As for my own lobbying campaign?  I'd like to see people telling Lucas Licensing to stick it with their stance against the Wookiee Jedi figures.  WHY?!?!?  Sure, George Lucas sounded off that he didn't want Wookiees to be Jedi.  But the cat was out of the bag when they let EU writers and comic creators go forward with characters like Tyvokka and Lowbacca.  They proved to be some pretty cool characters, and there's a lot of love amongst collectors for Wookiees.  It's only 2 characters....let it go.

For me, ESB and ANH have so many resculpts I wanted that they really dominated my wishlist.

I would like to see Sote characters in the tvc: Dash Rendar, Guri, Leebo. Also Jaxxon the rabbit like guy

Wedge from snoswspeeder would be a great asset for the collection too.

Also waiting for a nice evolution of Hoth Luke; perhaps with face mask, removable hat, working holster.

Toryn Farr is a very long waited character, itīs time they make her.
