Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Major Derlin in Palmdale

I don't think it's a horrible offense to respectfully approach a celebrity and ask for an autograph or that they pose for a photo.  I'm sure Gamboa wouldn't interrupt him while he was on camera or busy.  These sorts of shoots always have periods of downtime, and being greeted by a fan is often a pleasant distraction.  You need to pull that bug out of your ass, DP.

Also... if you would be so kind as to try the sign Gamboa, it's very helpful to print out a couple pics of some previous sign holders... it puts the celebrity at ease.  Seeing people like Ken Colley and Caroline Blakiston, who are respected thespians, assures an actor that they're not being set up for a lawsuit.

Yes, those were Dustin's real answers.  And my real questions.

No endorsement, no.  We're still backing our big guy Big E... who hasn't received a single bounty.   ;)  But like a politician going on Letterman, the interview alone can lead to a lot of votes.

I posted an interview with Dustin in this week's http://CreatureCantina.com update.

But down by almost 60 with 5 days left, I don't know if even the power of CreatureCantina.com can turn this one around...

I thought it was fairly obvious that by what I said, it was implied they weren't designed to be EVERYDAY USE DVD PLAYERS, but I guess not, so here;

Quote
PS2's aren't designed to double as everyday use DVD players.

Clarification complete.

So, they're designed to spin video game disks every day, but not DVD movie disks?  A task that takes significantly fewer system resources?

While you're at it, do you have anything else you'd like to pull out of your ass?

PS2's aren't designed to double as DVD players.

Didn't you use your PS2 as your main DVD player for a time?

I still use my PS2 as my primary DVD player.  I have a launch model, and I've never once had a problem.  Who said it's not supposed to double as a DVD player?

Uhura never did it for me, and was anyone else really sort of disturbed when she danced nekked in the one ST film?  You only saw her silouette, but something about that whole thing has really bugged me.

The funniest part was that it was the most obvious body double ever.  She somehow lost 70 pounds just by taking her clothes off!!

I'd tried to force the film from my mind so I didn't recall, I just knew it was supposed to be her so the whole thing bugged me knowing she'd gotten a little hefty there and stuff...  It was all very weird.  And I recall when the film was out how it was a big deal about her "scene" and stuff.

And yes, now I do recall Kirk kicking god's ass in that film...  That was pretty terrible.  No wonder it's one you don't see replayed too often.

Well, as far as we know, USC could be buying the subscriptions to match Dustin.  Who knows... he could be a millionaire who wants to be in the Insider.

Given the fact that they were giving away items of equal value to the subscription just for people to sign up, I was expecting more than 30 people to avail themselves of the offer.  I mean, 30 people is like 1 or 2 an hour.  I was expecting him to double his count.  I thought it was an effective idea to get a lot more bounties.

Considering the cost of flying him down there, a booth at the convention, and the wholesale value of the hand-outs, I wonder if it would have been cheaper for them to just buy 30 subscriptions and give them away.

I don't know... maybe some of the people who signed up are still being processed.  The tally doesn't update dynamically, after all.

Latest results:

126 - uscwannabe
117 - dustin@rebelscum.com

I assume these results include the weekend's take.  Is it possible Dustin only got 29 people to sign up in Dallas?

To me, I can look at a good looking girl, admire whatever I'm admiring on her, but still not really feel as though I'm lusting for her...

Except at Hooters...
