I found it funny at the time that Jocasta Nu didn't just say it was possible when clearly it was.

I just think that goes with Yoda's say that the Jedi are often arrogant, and Nu confirms this by saying the Jedi archives are complete, etc.

I see lots of Pondas at my local TRU. They aren't going to move at the $12 price mark.

I like to stick with new figures and Cliegg and Picnic and Lakeside Padme are musts for me. I'd be in for some new Jedi as well. I do think there are a lot of figures that need revisited, too, like Lil Fett, Clone Trainees, Lama Su and Taun We, some of the Separatists, etc.

Maybe she just wants to spend time with you  ;)

I totally get that, Tracy. But I would prefer to spend time with her in a way that's mutually agreeable.

But the inability to accurately predict the amount of time you're going to need over and over again drives me nuts.

Agreed. I just wish the offending female (I'm not saying this is just a woman thing as I know a few that hate to shop) would say out front that this trip is going to take 2.5 hours, so that way I can already weigh my options. Maybe there are some projects I want to get done that day. If you say your doing 1 thing at 1 store, I can estimate the time of the trip and know it won't cut deeply into what I want to do later. If she says I'm going to 5 shops, I'll respectfully decline. I guess it's the idea of respecting one's time.

That sucks, Justin. Not the same, but thanks for all the help with nabbing figures and Kubricks for me over the years.

Here's one most guys can probably relate to. A pet-peeve of mine is a wife/mother, etc who asks you to go shopping (when it's the last thing on Earth you want to do) with them and claims that they have only one or two items to get at one story. You agree to go along and end up looking at ten items at four stores having spent an hour and a half longer than expected. Maybe it's a Multiple of 5 Rule?

I always tell the offending party to be honest up front so I can be mentally prepared and work my schedule accordingly. I'm the kind of person who does strategic shopping. I'm in and I'm out.

They could literally do a whole wave of different Padme costumes.

And they'd sit on store pegs for years.  ;)

Hasbro should just have a 'battle' pack of AotC Padmes.

No wonder they couldn't make it to the exhaust port.

I got 5. Not sure if we'll see much more TPM after this last batch is still peg-warming.

Same list as last year's.

1. Padme Amidala (Meadow Picnic)
2. Padme Amidala (Lake Retreat)
3. Padme Amidala (Nightgown)
4. Tikkes
5. Dorme
6. Cliegg Lars (with hoverchair)
7. Padme Amidala (Senator)
8. Padme Amidala (Going Home)
9. Jocasta Nu
10. Sarissa Jeng

The Original Trilogy / Re: George Lucas: "Han Never Shot First"
« on: March 19, 2012, 02:55 PM »
Also, how is what Han did different than what Obi-Wan did a few minuted before?  Evason told Luke he was going to kill him (I'll be careful. "You'll be dead!"), then pulled a gun and pointed it at Obi-Wan (but didn't shoot), and Obi-Wan killed him and his bud.  Can anyone explain why that is okay, but the Han thing is not?

My thinking is (not that I agree with the change) we already know what a blaster can do (Blockade Runner), but at that point had yet to see what a lightsaber can do.

If Qui-Gon couldn't, then why did Asajj survive?

I think one point in the TPM novel was that QGJ was old and therefore tired out easily and that's how Maul defeated him. Once Obi-Wan was separated from Maul and Qui-Gon, it was too much for the 'old man' to take the aggressive nature of Maul (the Jedi hadn't faced the Sith (a worthy adversary) in a long time.

I almost went to that Rangers/'guins game, but my brother decided to see the Hurricanes instead (cheaper). I know we both were leaning towards this game because of the Pittsburg's history, but at least we saw a win.  ;) My 3 year-old daughter enjoyed going, too, and talked all about the hockey game, though she wanted to go home part way into the 3 period. I was trying to get her to hold out, but she had school the next morning and the Rangers had just scored an insurance goal with about 5 to go, so I figured we'd go and someday she'll be old enough to be psyched to sit through a whole game...

of course, by that time we'll be back in Minnesota.  :P

I do this every time and I should just let it go but I can't, YAY FOR NOM ANOR!!!!!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dream is for the day when no one can ever buy another figure because every Target, TRU, WM is so overstocked with EU figs and has no need to re order.  ::)

That's when everyone from the forums buys the EU figures and dumps them on your favorite story.  ;)  :-*
