Title: Hasbro 2023 Indiana Jones 6" Adventure Series
Post by: Dave on February 13, 2023, 05:29 PM
Additional 6" figures were posted today for preorder.
- Belloq (ceremonial)
- Sallah
- Marion

I pre-orderd mine from Amazon.

I also didn't realize that if you get the whole first wave (five figures) you get pieces to build the Ark of the Covenant.   Nice!

Anyone else get their Indy pushed back after it was moved up? I'm a little worried the next email will be the "canceled" one and you can't pre-order it from Amazon any more.

Yes, mine was moved up to tomorrow, then now moved back to April 9th. Had my hopes up, really looking forward to this figure. Seems like many feel the same way, as it seems Indy is pre sold out a few places but none of the others are. If I were a smarter person I’d wait it out on the rest because they will likely be discounted by year end. But my love of the Indy franchise probably won’t allow me to wait  ;)

Looks like they're stepping on the gas for more 6" Indy figures.  Too many for me to collect them all at full retail, but I'll pick and choose a few.  Not sure if and when preorders will be available.

Yakface (https://yakfaceforums.com/main/2023/04/08/hasbro-indiana-jones-celebration-2023-panel-reveals/#more-57188) has a good breakdown of the latest announcements:

Wave 2:
Indiana Jones (Temple of Doom)
Short Round (Temple of Doom)
Indiana Jones (Hypnotized Temple of Doom)
Helena Shaw (Dial of Destiny)
Indiana Jones (Dial of Destiny)

Exclusives:
Indiana Jones (RotLA Cairo) - Amazon/Fan Channel
Indiana Jones (RotLA Temple Escape) - Hasbro Pulse / ShopDisney
Marcus Brody & Rene Belloq 2pk (RotLA) - Amazon/Fan Channel

Pipeline reveals:
Indiana Jones (The Last Crusade)
Grail Knight (The Last Crusade)
Dr. Henry Jones Sr. (The Last Crusade)
Elsa Schnieder (The Last Crusade)

I don’t do 6” SW but I’m really tempted to buy these.

I thought about it but ultimately passed.  My itch for these stems from the fact that it's really going to bother me not to have SA 3.75" Dial of Destiny figures, but that's life I guess. :-\

I saw a full case of the Club Obi-Wan Indy figures at Target yesterday, just FYI.

Yakface summarized Wave 3 (https://yakfaceforums.com/main/2023/06/28/indiana-jones-adventure-series-final-wave-3-revealed/), and hinted that it might be the final wave.
- Indiana Jones (Last Crusade)
- Grail Knight (Last Crusade)
- Henry Jones, Sr. (Last Crusade)
- Doctor Jurgen Voller (Dial of Destiny)
- Renaldo (Dial of Destiny)
- Dr. Elsa Schneider (Last Crusade)

Buy all six to put together the grail table from Last Crusade via build-an-artifact components.

Final wave? Sheesh I almost wish I had bought them all now. Figured they would have a longer shelf life…

If that’s it I’m definitely not collecting them.  I want to get into things that aren’t so scattered and short lived.

I actually was thinking the opposite as I don't want another giant sprawling collection.

I picked up about half along the way, but might pick them all up if there are only a handful more to get.  They hit the high points, and really did a few too many Indy variants, but I can't think of more than a couple other figures I would really want that they haven't made.

It would have been nice to get a vehicle/beast mixed in.  Indy on a horse and Indy and Sr. on motorcycle with sidecar.

I totally hear you, but I’d be annoyed at all the key characters that never got made.

Map room Indy (https://www.target.com/p/hasbro-indiana-jones-adventure-series-map-room-action-figure-target-exclusive/-/A-84832671#lnk=sametab) is up for pre-order on Target.com.  I think they've made a few too many Indy variants, and I've skipped a bunch, but I like this one and pre-ordered it.

This is a Target exclusive.

Against my better judgement I went ahead and took the plunge... I'm buying these.  I ordered a ton of them the other day, and I preordered the rest.

Everything I'm reading from SDCC makes it sounds like Indy figures (all scales) are done but not 'dead' dead yet.  Hasbro stills hope some new stuff will get made someday but it sounds like nothing is planned past what has been shown.  Anything beyond what was announced will need a lot of help (like a big retail partner or new media) to see production.

What jerks.

That retro line was so minuscule.  The Adventure Series was one or two waves away from having everything it needed.

Hopefully Target is seeing success with their exclusives.  It would be nice to see 6" and 3.75" continue in a small way, but they've done a pretty good job with these lines, especially the 6" line.  They've made a few too many Indy variants, and some of the exclusives were a little weird, but for the most part they haven't had many misses.  There are probably another dozen easy choices but they hit the high points if they do call it quits.

Maybe have a wave come out at Christmas for the next couple of years but I'm not sure they need a constant line.

Since there was basically no mention of the Indy lines at SDCC, are we to assume what has been announced is it? I know we kind of all figured that, but I guess it was still a decent run.

Got the Raiders / Cairo Indiana Jones today…

Why was this one $34?!  It seems like a slight retool of the TOD Indiana Jones and there’s nothing special about it.

Was this a “just because” MSRP?

Probably.  Target was charging more for Henry Jones Sr than Sallah, and they were hanging on the pegs right next to each other.

Yeah but this one was available at Pulse and Amazon so it’s not a Target thing, they’ve been the worst offenders.

Same.

I guess it’s just the last wave now unless Hasbro surprises us.

I did pretty well avoiding this line. Combination of not wanting to get involved after the 2008 fiasco, and retail stores here never actually putting any product out (I only ever saw the Target exclusives on pegs).

I did pick up the SH Figuarts Indy, but I'm staying at that. I do want to get Henry Sr and Short Round from the Hasbro line though, but I'll hold out for some deals.

I’m sure things vary by location, but I’d have to say at least around here things didn’t really sit. I’m sure it didn’t sell like gangbusters, as a line 90% populated by old white dudes was going to be an uphill battle. The only figure I really saw clearanced at Target was tuxedo Indy. The on,y one I saw sit even a little from the main line was Marion (and not long), and there aren’t ANY of these figures left locally. Honestly, to try and be “smart” and budget things out a bit I waited on Toht and Belloq, thinking they would be likely clearance candidates but that hasn’t happened at retail or on Amazon. Maybe they ordered somewhat correctly, at least for the first wave. I haven’t seen much of the following waves at all, and got those online. Overall, despite some missed characters, I’m happy with the line and quality. I was honestly hoping they would just slip an Indy into Black Series or something at some point, so to get a whole line was great. Retro figures were a nice bonus too.

I barely saw any of these in stores.  Maybe one of the earlier waves… but nothing in months except the Target exclusives.

Same.

I picked up about 70% of these online, but skipped the Dial of Destiny figures and a few others here and there.  I was hoping to see some of these in person to see if they were interesting enough to grab, or maybe on discount grab them, but I hardly saw any of these at retail and only the ones I had already obtained online.

Does that mean things sold well, or does that mean Target et. al. barely ordered anything?

They hit most of the high points, so I'm not sure the line should continue, but I'd love to see a few vehicles/beasts.  Indy on a horse.  German goon on a motorcycle.  Indy and Henry Sr. on a motorcycle with sidecar.  Maybe as retailer exclusives?

Yeah, I don't really need any more background characters or costume variations.  Its a cool list and great concept artwork, but I wouldn't buy more than one or two of these guys unless I wanted to create a specific scene.

Maybe the Cairo Swordsman or German Mechanic, but that might be it.

Mola Ram!

Surely there is enough good stuff for another few waves.  I don’t much care for the movie but it’s weird to have completely ignored Crystal Skull too.

Mola Ram and Thugee goon would be a nice two pack.

I picked up all of the RotLA Build an Ark wave except for Indy (which is sold out).  Would be nice to finish the ark... anyone have spare pieces?
