I don't know if any of you have heard or entered in this compitition, but after and abscence and lack of updates on their site, the 2nd of December, it was announced they were doing a second edition. The first one, I didn't enter, but this year I did. Maybe there are some customizers over here who would like to take a look and maybe enter the contest themselves. The jury consists out of some big names in the toy bussiness.
You should check it out at:
Custom of the Year 2005 (http://www.customoftheyear.com/index.html)

It's nice to see they added a star wars section to their contest. It seems like star wars customs are always ignored in the bigger free for all custom sites. I wonder what I should enter.

I think your most recent work is very cool Phruby. I think you have a lot of stuff that qualifies for this contest. There are a lot of guys here who should check this contest out. From the top of my head I'm thinking of guys like Glassman6, Chewie, the Spectre and more!
-
Looking at their past entries, they didn't get very many people to particpate. Maybe we can change that and get people to realize that star wars customizing isn't just poorly repainted clone troopers. My Tonnikas might be good. Glassman should enter his Calamari dancer.
-
Wow this is really cool! I don't think I really have anything good enough to enter into this, but I might see if I have something to add to it.
I think Owen D. should submit his Star Destroyer.
:P
-
Come on CHEWIE don't be so modest! I think you've got A LOT of figs who qualify to enter! And yeah, Owen D. SHOULD do that. Someone should contact him and provide him a link.
-
In this kind of contest that isn't run by star wars customizers I would probably stay away from fan fic or EU chacters. You would have to make something they can instantly recognize. I think core characters would do better than a fan fic solider, comic book character or random sith lord.
-
I agree. I think the characters you enter, shoulb be from the movies at the very least. But still, that leaves a LOT of options open!
I've entered my Kybuck steed, My Bugs Fett and a few others.
-
Could you post your Kybuck steed again. I vaguely remember it.
-
I think I'll post my simpsons star wars fan boy and my Kermit Skyhopper for Muppets. For star wars, I thinking my holiday special acrobat or calamari dancer or luminari or even the Tonnika sisters.
Submissions start at the beginning of the year. What are you guys going to submit?
-
I'm sending these:
Kybuck Steed (http://thecuttingedge.artofthejedi.com/custom/001_kybuck.html) ,
Snoova update
and my Buggs Fett custom.
-
I remember that horse. I thought it was cool how you took a static standing horse and made him look like he's jumping. Did you ever make a yoda to ride him?
-
Can't get my hands on an extra CW animated Yoda... I've been looking for one ofr months now... One day I will...
-
I'll probably submit Owen D's Star Destroyer for him, but I'll ask him first.
:P

-
He shure did! A deserved 1st place
-
That shows the value of doing a group project. Without it, weird unique customs like that would never have been made.
-
Very true Paul, I would probably have not done any of the customs chosen for the group projects.
Who'd of thunk it, that these group projects would be so intrumental!!
Join in people, Join in!
