Collections / Re: stormie's stuff
« on: April 6, 2004, 05:37 PM »
Thanks guys! Hopefully all those dang links are working correctly.  :P

Nothing's been added in a loooong time, and everything is pretty much in storage right now, so the only way I can peruse my stuff is by looking at the site.

Yeah, Matt, only missing the Clones for the Kubrick bootlegs. All my real Kubricks (and Kinder Hippos [kitsch!]) are staring at me from my desk at work. Maybe I'll someday get around to using my digicam for SW again instead of baby pics!  ;)

Power of the Force 2 / Re: Pricing question.

Well, of the three, the AT-AT is by far the most valuable. A good indication of value is always eBay completed auctions. Loose, complete (with figures) AT-ATs are going for around $58, but some have gone higher and lower.

The Millennium Falcon is worth only about $15-$20 opened.

The TIE Fighter is the least valuable, with prices ranging from $5-$10 for a loose example.

Here's a link to my pared down collection of vintage, MOC Stormtroopers, and miscellaneous SW-based cra...uh...stuff. :) There's also a little visual history of what my collection used to be.

New update:

5:   I am still old!  :o

12: I am not as old as Bob!   ;D

Ya know, #12 wouldn't have stung so much if you hadn't have preceded it with #5. I'd have more to say, but I need to go rinse my dentures.  :P

1. From age 9 to 23, I lived in Lucas' hometown (until I escaped to someplace a little less dead).

And Mainland05 still lives there!  ;D

Sure did. From 1978 to 1993. 15 long, hot summers! I thought you would've seen that sly reference I put in the "12 things about you..." thread, referring to my time living in Lucas' hometown. You did know he is from Modesto, right? He even went to Downey HS.  ;)

Yeah, summers in Mo-town are always brutal. Gotta have A/C. I used to actually enjoy those hot summers, but now I can't stand it if it's above 80!  :P

YEA!!! Finally, things are really starting to warm up here! It feels good! ;)

If your profile states your real location, then it's actually finally beginning to cool down to normal, after the mid-80s heat of the past few weeks. ;)

I was visiting there a about a week ago, and it was a little too warm. :P

Kubricks / Series 2
« on: March 23, 2004, 09:58 AM »
I was just checking out that site you linked a little while ago.  Exactly what city is that shop in?  SF?  SJ?  I might be heading up that way sometime soon, and might want to stop in and take a gander.  Also, any idea if that "300th Fett" that he's got listed in the Kubrick section is the Fett in the can bootleg?  I'd assume so...  Know if it comes with the can, and if the Speederbike comes with the tin as well?  Might drop an order for those last 3 items I'm missing, if that's what they are...

Matt, I'm pretty sure he just operates the Website and doesn't have a brick and mortar shop. I met him once at a toy show in SJ (when they still had toy shows, and when I was still going to toy shows), and he was a really nice guy. I got a lot of my Kubrick bootlegs from him (probably over 2 1/2 years ago), and they did include the Boba Fett and Scout with tins. Yeah, I noticed that he hasn't updated the site in a while, either. Probably wouldn't hurt to fire off an email to him just to check if he even still has these!

So, more of a secret finger, rather than handshake, huh? Which finger?  ;)

Kubricks / Series 2

Hey, welcome to the Kubrick collectors club Bob!

So, is there like a secret handshake or something, or is withholding that information part of the initiation, or is this just a test to see if I'd go out of my way and show my impatience by asking for the secret handshake first, thereby banishing myself (because of my impatience) from the club and never being able to actually see the secret handshake?  ;)

Yeah, time to go home. Getting tired and loopy.

Thanks for the welcome, Matt! :)

Kubricks / Series 2

Tony. I got my bootlegs from a local dealer. He has a Website (www.fantasiatoyz.com), but it hasn't been updated in a few months. He's still got all the bootlegs listed, including Death Star Escape (Han & Luke in Stormtrooper gear, Chewbacca in chains) -- $25. His name is Felix, and his email is info@fantasiatoyz.com. Hope this helps! :)

Hey there,
Does anyone have a picture of the death star Han, Luke, and Chewie Kamiru Kubrick bootleg?

Do you mean this one?

I'm already screwed.  :( I went out on a limb and had Charlotte going to the Sweet Sixteen, and there's no way I could've seen Manhattan doing that to the Gators. On a brighter note, I did manage to pick Maryland...in the UTEP game. ;)
