My mom suffers from insomnia.  Her Dr. put her on Ambien and she has had bad experiences with it.  It works well to help her fall asleep -- but if she wakes up before she sleeps it off -- usually after about 4 hours -- she wanders around the house and babbles and has horrible hallucinations.  The first time it happened it scared my father to death.  He found her on the floor in the kitchen crying because she thought she had killed one of her grandchildren.  No amount of reassuring could convince her otherwise    It happens everytime she takes it and wakes up too soon.

Just read an article in the Charlotte Observer that claims that gas stations owners in the area raised prices last week strictly for profit -- they were not faced with a dramatic increase in price.  The article claims they took advantage of the situation in that they usually make a profit of $.5 - $.10/gallon but they raised their profits to as much as $.75/gallon last week.  Nice

Great stories.  Our son has gotten into SW over the past few months.  He just turned four and its amazing how much he knows.  He really grasps the concept of the Anakin in Ep I & II being Vader (and Luke & Leia's "Daddy").  He also "gets" that Vader turns back into Anakin and becomes "a good guy" in ROTJ.  Now everything in our house that is longer than 6" now qualifies as a lightsaber

Things are settling down here, too, after the long weekend.  Prices were as high as $3.99.  I saw $2.99 yesterday.  The average seems to be around $3.19 now.

We tend to believe what we see, that's why when the Jedi got taken out like amature swordsmen, it was like a slap in the face for people like me who bought into the mythology that the Jedi were superior beings.

I'm with you on that.  Before the PT, I always thought the Jedi were above others, someone to be revered.  To the point that I thought it was odd that Luke didn't seem that impressed when Obi Wan told him his father was once a Jedi.  Though they were all but extinct at that point, I always thought that stories of them would have been legendary.  That the Jedi would have been regarded almost as folk heros.  I would've liked to see them go down defending what was left of the Republic.  I think a great disservice was done not only to the mythology of the Jedi, but also to the character of Padme too.  I thought she was going to rise up as the "mother" of the alliance.
