I went looking for the imperialcommandos site and realized its appearantly dead.
Was wondering if anyone out there saved the pics from that site?
They had alot of cool concepts there.
I know Sithfire made a few of the helmets from that site.
As I am currently working on a bunch of Imperial Commandos of my own I wanted to try sculpting some of the helmets. They had some cool stuff.
So anyone got the pics saved anywhere?
-
I recently got a slew of new Stormtroopers, with Imp Commandos in mind myself. Only to find my link was dead too.
Can anyone help?
-
Its weird... its like not only is the site dead, but most the references to them on other sites seems to be gone too.
-
thats sucks...i wonder what happened to them...the project was going so well too

I'd PM Sithfire. He seemed pretty into them, the site, he'd probably be your best go to guy around here.

A dissruption in website communication can only mean one thing...... INVASION.
-
I think I saved about a dozen images from the site. I'll double check. I know I have images of most of the helmets. I guess they ran out of money or got a letter from Lucas.

Thank you thank you thank you!
That first one in particular is one I really wanted!
Now I can get started on it and some alternatives!
Much appreciated!
I will indeed contact Sithfire about this to see if he has anymore.
I tried an email of one of the guys involved with ImperialCommandos but the email was no longer valid...oh well..
-
Does anyone know who did these guys and where they were origionaly posted?
I was browsing the various forums while half-asleep (a common event...) and downloaded the pics before passing out. I was not awake enough to post a reply at the time. However the next day I tried to remember where and who had made the customs and could not figure it out. I have been looking the last few days and had no success. Its driving me nuts!!!
Anyone know who made these guys?
(Also what was the playset that he used in his diarama?)

Thanks Straxus this pic will help me out a lot. Unfortunately, I have no idea who did them.
The background though looks a lit like Cobra Mountain.
-
Sorry I had not popped over here to mention that I figured out who it was.
It was Jonnyboomboom from over at RS. I had trouble finding the post again because it was an old thread, but feel stupid as I overlooked that he had posted the link for me in the ImperialCommandos.com thread that was at RS...hehehe. (I have not had much sleep lately...thats my excuse and I am sticking to it...)
You are right, it was the Cobra Mountain playset.
I will try to repost the links people found at the other sites, so that those here that are interested can have access to the pics as well.

It sure looks like a repainted Geonosis Playset to me... You can see the battle driod parts in the ground there and the doors are idetical, as are the walls.

From what a few people told me, Hasbro reused the same playset for both. Kinda like the ewok playset got reused for the robin hood figures. Though this is just what I have been told, not from personal experience.
Here are the links given on other sites for ImperialCommandos pics
jon4557 at RS helped out with the following info:

That would make sense I suppose.
Thanks for digging for all of these pics BTW. I'd like to get to a few commandos some day down the road, and now I know where to look for reference. :)

I just got a Instant Message at RS. Someone there is emailing me some more pics. When I get them, I will post them in this thread!

wow straxus those are awsome pics...im sure ive got that pic of argos somewhere aswell lol...any one heard anything about their project?...id hate to hear it was terminated
-
Not sure about their project but the rumor is that the guys from it are going to be in costume at SDCC. Though sadly I wont be able to go. Maybe someone going could ask them in person about the status of the projects.
-
Well, I thank you Straxus for all your help. I am SOOO doing that secong blue one, I have never seen that paints cheme before.
-
I wanted to bump this up. It took me forever to find this thread, and I don't want to have to look for it again. ;D
-
Darn, and I thought you were going to tell me that they had something new going on!
-
I have to give credit to the work put into the designs and the finished product. It would be interesting to know the back story on some of these troop devisions.
-
its pretty simple really....upon formation of the empire, arc troopers were mostly uthenised, and all the other spec ops troopers from the GAR were either inducted into dark trooper training or became imperial commando's....if i rememeber correctly commander cody becomes one because clone officers were sent there aswell because non-clone officers were preffered in the CO positions.....i think the low ranked officers and NCO stayed with the legions though

Forgot to add this link...
Johnnyboomboom added this in link in october over at RS.
