Check your local Suncoasts, if ye have them. I hit the jackpot, finding every figure released in the ROTK line thus far, including Prologue Bilbo. Since I just ordered TWF, I couldn't really afford Gandalf and Aragorn, but I got Bilbo and Armored Eowyn.

I'm on quite a plastic high right now. :)

6017
That's probably true. Now they need full cases of Prologue Bilbo and Crossbow Uruks. Yeah, baby.

6018
Oh yeah, baby. I hope they don't end up out of stock or something. That would really bite.

I'm glad I only had to pay $20 instead of $150 on ebay.

Of course, this could be the store that had those cases of Twilight Frodo cooked up for 'em. Oh well, whatever.

Watto's Junk Yard / Batman Begins

Finally, WB makes a decent choice for Bruce Wayne/Batman:

I'm not much for the comics (really haven't read any but the Hush arc) but I love the first two, maybe three movies. I'd like to see where this one goes, what with Christopher Nolan directing and co-writing.

Ick. Always songs I hate that end up stuck in my head. That 'song' from Ashanti and Nelly makes me want to pull a Van Gogh and cut my ears off. Such dreck.

Don't worry, mosnab, by the time you have the available scrib, I might still have the figures. I posted the list over at He-Man.org, and for a bunch of folks who complain about not being able to find these things, they didn't go for 'em, even though I added some Star Wars and LOTR stuff I needed to the list. They wouldn't even buy 'em. So I think the the .org is just full of a bunch of hot air.

I typically ignore store employees except for cashiers, who I have to at least say hello to. I get the feeling that some employees hate collectors, but after seeing a feeding frenzy of Hot Wheels a couple weeks back, I honestly can't blame them.

I'm cutting down on hunting, because soon the Christmas season starts, and I really hate hunting then with all the accusory stares from the folks MisterPL mentioned.  Strange folk they are...

I'll take an elderly person's cart to the corral. I'd hate to see them get hit by some jackass on his/her cell phone.

I think for me it's the lack of figures from the OT. I know next year holds much pleasantness for OT fans, but I won't be able to buy as much, if anything. Oh, poor me.
That and I'm getting kind of burned out in all my collections, what with shortpacks, chase figures, distribution, and assurchin toy store employees.
Grrrr.

Middle Earth / Re: Lord of the Rings Figures
« on: September 5, 2003, 12:50 PM »
That could be true too, because TTT didn't win it either. If ROTK doesn't win, then you know the Academy has it in for Peter Jackson and LOTR. And pretty much every other person who isn't an Academy voter.

I think they're staying away from fast-food tie-ins, because they think the BK toys cost FOTR the Best Picture Oscar.
Whatever.

The one good thing about living in a small city is that there is rarely gridlock. When (if ever) I get to L.A., I'm selling my Hyundai because I don't think I'd handle the traffic all that well.
