Thanks to this guy:

So...what does that mean for toys? Any speculation?

Details?

Thanks.
Huh, never thought Twist would win that one. Still, not sure I get the litiginous states of America sometime. 15 million? Maybe yah shouldn't have been a thug in hockey, sport?
-
Twist, a Canadian Thug from Sherwood Park, Alta!
-
US Legal system. It can't be helped if he was corrupted when he headed south :P
Wonder if this explains why the spawn.com board was down all weekend.
-
How is using your name in a comic book worth $15 million?
-
That I do not understand. So they used your name? There's got to be more than one Anthony Twist in the world. Hell, it's just a nickname anyway, so I don't get that at all. Frankly if McFarlane wants to use my name in a book as an evil villain that kills babies, I'd only charge him maybe 5 mill. Max.
Mind you I never understood how the little old lady won against McDonald's with the hot coffee in the lap schtick anyway.

I'm sure there is. Anything to make a buck or a few million! ::)

According to the article I read last nite, it does not effect the toys because this division of McFarlane produces the comic books.
-
If one of his biggest creditors is his Toy Business you'd think it would have some effect. I don't know I guess, just speculating

They're filing for bankruptcy to avoid having to pay the 15 mil. I'm sure the company will survive.

He could sell a baseball or two.

Chapter 11 is Bankruptcy lite....and this is 100% a way to avoid paying a big Court award. I do wonder what the jury was thinking....Hopefully McFalane has a better Bankruptcy Attorney than he did a Litigator...

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy (McFarlane) if you asked me. He tried to rip off Neil Gaiman and Alan Moore, and lost. Sounds to me like Toddy should learn to keep his effing ego in check because he is getting spanked in the courts.
-
So Tony Twist who is hands down the worse hockey player to ever make it to the NHL, couldn't make money by suckin on the ice, so he made it the old fashion way? By suing someone! BLAH! Obviously, the jury does not understand the concept of Fair Use clauses in US Copyright law.

I'm torn here too.
Twist is/was a thug, a poor excuse for a player, and a blight on the game... A McSorely without the ability for a BS goal every now and then either. A greater bonehead, I can't think of.
That said, McFarlane's a total sopping wet pile of douche himself. It's a real tough choice who to hate more.
-
Sure, McFarlane is a bit of a spoiled brat, but awarding Twist $15 mil is a crock of ****. Simple as that. How this case wasn't laughed out of court by the judge is beyond me. >:(
-
He'll never see the money because McFarlane filed for Chapter 11. Twist won't get his payday, but McFarlane will have to operate his business under strict guidelines. It's a lose/lose situation.
