Title: Lightsaber Umbrella
Post by: Blue_Harvester on June 3, 2005, 09:13 AM
I spotted an item briefly listed over on sw.com... a STAR WARS UMBRELLA...
(made by Happinet)

I did a google of it, and its is already for sale via NCS (hiphip)...

This is a little pricey for an umbrella, but a cool SW tie-in nevertheless...

I see a VADER hilt.   Do we need an OBIWANs too? ;D  And LUKEs?

Whaddaya think?

p.s.  this reminds me of that deleted scene... from EpI

QUIGON:  You turned-on your lightsaber in the rain again, didnt you?
OBIWAN:  Im sorry, master.

Heh, cool.  Not $85 cool, but cool.

Sounds interesting, but there's not (usually) enough rain out here in SoCal to justify dropping that kinda coin on an umbrella.  At least not according to my wife...  ;)

Happinet's new umbrella with lightsaber grip should please fans who've been wielding their "activated" extending umbrellas like sabers for years. Using Master Replica's .45 scale Darth Vader lightsaber hilt as a reference, the closed umbrella will come in a red sleeve to simulate the saber blade. The umbrella itself will be black with the Death Star depicted on the underside. These are strictly designed for fending off the weather, however... not Jedi.

Here's a picture of the supposed handle:

I'd like to see what the finished product ultimately looks like, not to mention that I'm not even sure if these will be available here in the States.  Fun idea though...

Do our wives know each other?   ;)

Certainly this will be one of those unique items that most people don't have, which often tends to grab my attention.  However, it is still just an umbrella, so I can't see spending $85.
