Should be interesting to see how she turns out...

Cool!  Guess that means us guys in the States should have him in-hand by the end of October!   :)

Maybe I'm just misreading things (hey, it's early), but I wouldn't think the Vader/coin album would really have any effect on keeping anything else on or off the pegs. . .

I agree with Matt.

According to the Target folks I know, the 2007 basic figures have a whole separate DPCI number than Coin Album Vader does.  That means they are on completely different order schedules and a surplus of one shouldn't keep the other from being ordered...

Wow, Hasbro really surprised me with this one...

Star Wars 30th Anniversary Figures Wave 1 @ EE:

2x Galactic Marine
2x Utapau Airborne Trooper
2x Obi-Wan Kenobi
2x R2-D2
1x Mustafarian Lava Miner
1x McQuarrie Concept Stormtrooper
1x Mace Windu
1x Super Battle Droid

I thought for sure Mace would be 2x per case, very cool to stick both the Airborne and Marine in there at 2x per case instead.   :)

Not cool to see a bit of a price hike on that pre-order though.  Up to $84 for a case instead of $80.   >:(

In order to keep this thread PG-13, I deleted Hemish's picture (and the ensuing refences to it), as well as the link to the original site since they were pretty porn related...

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Target Exclusive Rogue Two Snowspeeder
« on: September 26, 2006, 02:27 PM »

I don't know if we ever get a good shot of him outside of all those shadows in the Snowspeeder cockpit, so I think his green/gray helmet might be one of those "blue coat/brown coat" type of things.

It looks wrong on the toy because it's so plain and gray and we're used to brighter colors on the helmets, but at the same time, based on the picture above, it looks like it's pretty much correct as far as I can tell (without a better reference picture).

The pictures also give, what I hope, is a false impression that he's actually taller that the already tall Gold leader.

Actually, yeah he is taller.  If you look at the legs on Zev, you will see they are closer together and not as spread out as Dutch/Wedge.  Also, having that extra "skirt" thingy between the waist and the torso peices adds just a touch to his height.  The end result is that he is slightly taller than Dutch/Wedge (at least on my figure anyway).

And they've beaten his ass before :)

Which is why I'm still holding out hope for a Detroit stumble that allows us to win the AL Central.  I said it before, but hosting the As in the first round sounds a lot better to me than heading to Yankee Stadium to kick things off.

I'd much rather all of our young guys got their first playoff experience in the friendly confines of the Dome rather then Yankee Stadium.  Plus, I still think some combination of Santana/Bonser/Silva/Garza can beat Oakland (especially with our Dome field advantage).

Versus the Yankees though?  Even if you forget Santana for a minute (I have faith in him), that Yankee line-up (with lots of playoff experience) could be a lot of trouble for our playoff virgin/rookie pitchers like Bonser or Baker or Garza.

Eh, anyway you look at it, it's nice to just have my squad back in the playoffs especially after the slow start and all the pitching staff injuries they've had to weather this year.  (And, to a lesser extent, it's nice to see the White Sox out of it :P)

Star Wars Universe / Re: 5 out of 6 movies

So who the hell in any movie used three friggin' lightsabers?

Didn't Anakin use three different sabers in AotC?

1 - his own (which got destroyed in the droid factory)
2 - the loaner saber he got in the geonosis arena
3 - the loaner saber that Obi-Wan got in the geonosis arena (saber #2 Vs. Dooku)

Granted, they weren't all at the same time, but they were three different sabers, right?   ???

No case assortments just yet that I have seen, but knowing Hasbro it's probably something like this...

3x Obi-Wan
2x Mace
2x R2-D2
1x Lava Miner
1x Galactic Marine
1x Utapau Airborne Clone
1x Super Battle Droid
1x McQuarrie Stormie

 :-X

It looks like Jedi Insider has the entire wave up, including the Airborne Trooper, McQuarrie Stormie, and a Super Battle Droid.  Looks like the McQuarrie trooper has been changed up since the previous release.

Yeah, looks like he's gray-and-white now instead of black-and-white.  Fancier paint-job on the shield as well...

I think I'm in for 2x each (loose and carded) for all 8 of these wave 1 figures.  They all actually look really great and there don't appear to be any straight re-packs which is a refreshing change...

ps.
It looks like the figure #s are imprinted right on the coin - I can read a few of them, but the coin art is obscuring the figure number for some...

#02 Galactic Marine
#04 R2-D2
#05 Obi-Wan Kenobi
#06 Mace Windu
#07 Utapau Airborne Trooper
#XX Mustafar Lava Miner
#XX Super Battle Droid
#XX Concept Stormtrooper

9508
Either way (jets = sculpted or jets = plug-ins), those legs on R2-D2 appear to be new/different from the preview droid sculpt.

I still like it for what it is, but I don't like it if it means we're not getting the "plain" sneak preview sculpt R2-D2 instead.

9509
Any other Artoos rumored for next year so far?

There is supposed to be a Stormtrooper Luke/R2-D2 2-pack in second wave of the "Comics Packs" series...

I guess I assumed this wasn't what Hasbro was talking in the Q&A about because this R2 has completely different legs than the sneak preview sculpt...  :-\
