Scorch is a wholely separate character from EU...  Rep Commando wasn't developed because of the toon but actually in an attempt to capitalize on a gaming niche's popularity instead, so I don't think I'd count it as Clone Wars...  If anything it took some finegaling by EU-ers to make the Commandoes fit with the ARCs, which is sort of funny.

I really am hoping for more film-accurate CW figures...  I'm not a big fan of the toon-look subline they created, but I think with the characters like the new ARC Troopers coming out, and Foul Moudama, that Hasbro can really do a good Clone Wars figure that fits with the rest of the film characters nicely.  The original line was so beyond the cartoons even that it just didn't look right...  Ironically, figures sculpted based on the toon, but realistic looking, did better than Hasbro's early efforts to sculpt characters from the films and make them cartoonish while keeping them "realistically" sculpted.  If that makes sense.

Still though, $3 for anything isn't too bad Clone Commander.  Are the E1 figures on sale like that too?

I always considered the yellow droid in the one set a figure really too.  If they'd been made something like that, I think they'd have done better.  An astromech repaint snuck into them or something...  Price them slightly cheaper than a basic figure and you'd have a better way to market accessories cheaply.  It'd have to be a repaint figure though for that work really...  Something akin to the Target sets, only slightly better IMO since the figures in those were weak really.

I disagree that they couldn't have done the holster better.  It's within their ability to do thin flexible plastic, so thin flexible plastic in a holster shape isn't impossible...  Given the tiny holsters I've seen in other toylines (BBI's Elite Force, etc.), I think Hasbro was just trying to cut back on some effort really more than anything...  or they felt they weren't capable of doing it better, or that this was a compromise for people who'd rather not display it holstered or anything.  I dunno.

The figure's fine though I agree.  I use the holsters on mine...  They're there, and I'm either growing more tolerant in my old age or I just didn't care enough.  It holds a blaster, just not well, so I use it when displaying my Stormtroopers.

In all honesty though, there weren't Stormies seen with holsters throughout the trilogy so I'm ok with VOTC's without holsters if Hasbro were to put the figure back out on the market.   I'd live with that quite nicely.

I've liked him too for the most part, but the knees do bother me.  Hasbro needs to increase the bar here at this point.  1983 is gone...  2006, figures should have knee joints.  Ankles I can forgive, knees I cannot at this stage.

If 3 Cantina figures can come out in 2004/05 with knees, then any military figure can have them.  Really any figure can have knee joints unless they're obstructed.  If it's harped on enough, Hasbro listens and may act. 

DD said he meant it (the Nazi remark) tongue-in-cheek for the most part, and was stating it about this thread...  I'm not sure I look fondly upon that either way it was intended, to be perfectly honest, but at the same time DD's spoken his part on Wilrow Hood and he disagrees.  That's something that has to be respected, so I'm just asking that all the people involved remember that.

At the same time Bill Cosby's point of going into a "Motley Crue Rules!" Thread and saying that they suck is a good analogy...  It's asking for trouble.  I think it's FAIR to say that if you want to trash ICMG, the thread ICMG's campaign is taking place in is probably not the best...  It's somewhat a situation of thread scemantics in some weird way, but I tend to agree that I think if you're going to voice the negative opinions on the figure that it's best to do so in the Fan's Choice Poll thread.

It's kind of like when a debate over some aspect of collecting arose at another forum either late last year or early this year (I forget exactly when I was reading this).  Someone started something along the lines of "Positive talk about ___ Figure", because he/she was sick of reading negatives about that figure elsewhere and mods weren't willing to step in and calm anything down.  It was just ugly.

The same people picked the same fights in the new thread though...  I think it defeated the purpose, and still no staff stepped in of course, but I think here it's fair to say that we'd like to have people have some "peace" if they want it on specific topics.  For the ICMG, he's got a campaign thread, and obviously if you WANT the figure this is the place to be...  If you don't, I think the general Fan's Choice thread is the place to voice that...

Does anyone see where I'm coming from with that? 

And again I ask that we keep the arguments civil.  Let's keep namecalling over an action figure to a minimum from all points of view, and debate the facts or perceived facts of the argument rather than the opinions of others.  Example; DD says that he thinks Aliens sell well to kids...  I don't, and I think I can back that up with plenty of past precedent too as to why.

As for the Nazi thing, it's been noticed, and like I said it wasn't looked upon well regardless of the tone...  I don't think it made anyone happy is what I'm saying, but at the same time that's all it did.  I don't think this thread has been a spiraling ****fest of mudslinging...  I think DD came into hostile territory and he had to know he did so, and I think the pro-ICMG crowd need to accept it's not the same for everyone...  I'm sure they do, actually, so it's not even a concern...  Let's kindly move this onward and upward from here though, please.

As far as whether we debate it here or over in the other thread...  You know my feelings on how we should proceed, but at the same time, unless other staff feel otherwise, I'm letting this take its natural course.

The large plastic "sorting" trays that are rigid polystyrene shells with little clear drawers and such are what I use.  I have one specifically for weaponry/gear, one for bodyparts.  I keep a little, half-assed, catalogue of figure's broken down piece-by-piece and readily available for me when I need them.

Unfortunately I'm maxing out one of the large ones for figure parts, gonna have to switch up soon to a new one. 

The thing is, comparing EU from Star Wars with other action figure lines is tough...  It's still STar Wars, ultimately.  The Metal Gear figures sold like ****, but they don't have a film line supporting them that has 10+ years of popularity either...

I think that EU has legs...  I think it should have LIMITED legs though.  SHort of the TV shows (The old Clone Wars toon included, as I think it is still popular and should be getting figures and ships routinely in the line), I think small "2 or 3" figure spurts of EU should be teh way to mix EU in there... 

KOTOR gets 3 in a wave...  Jedi Knight gets Kyle, Jan, and Jerec in a wave maybe...  And not back-to-back...  Just like a couple times a year.  If the line's supposedly gonna go on and on and on like Hasbro says, then they could make people happy by doing EU that way and not tread on the film's wealth of choices (new and resculpt) left to be done.

Hell, above anything on that list or off it I'd like the 3 Rebel Soldier types done super articulated.  If they were made in abundance tomorrow, I'd be happy if the line collapsed in on itself tomorrow.
