Still looking!  :D

If you look at the pictures of this that have been released so far, you can see that the Y-Wing is going to be over twice the length of the Jedi fighter, if not longer, with much more girth as well as some fairly complicated features in the dual cockpit.  Shouldn't twice the ship = twice the price?

It also lends itself to MUCH fewer repaint opportunities, (being seen in only one livery thus far) and therefore repeat purchases, which would impact Hasbro's pricing strategy (I'm sure they considered the opportunity to release about 6 screen accurate versions of the Jedi fighter when they first priced the vehicle).

I've seen a few votes for a 2X droid...I thought that was confirmed?

I really hope they do get around to doing this one - with light up action!

I expected this to be $50, which I consider a very fair price for a brand new tooling in this economy.  EE is probably higher than what we'll see at Target.  I'm sure that a lot of the final price for this has to do with the number of units shipped.  I could very well see a much smaller number of these being ordered by retail in this environment than the gunships in the past which probably shipped 2 - 3 times as many in a big movie year.

The Legacy Collection / Re: A Death Star Playset?
« on: May 19, 2009, 08:13 PM »
I, too, would rather see something modular like has been stated above, since that would allow you to piece together your own Death Star, as well as let Hasbro reuse some of the basic room walls/floors and just have different consoles/tables/throne/turbo lasers etc in each seperate set.

But I'd still be all over something like this in a heartbeat!  Presuming the doors are 4" high, maybe someone could figure out what the diameter of this thing really is?  3' tall?  Well, my BMF won't fit in the docking bay, but if they get the lower level right, you could park it right beside the doors Vader & Ben dueled in and Luke & Leia ran out to the ship from.  That'd still be pretty cool!

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Octuparra
« on: May 14, 2009, 12:37 PM »
Wow, impressive work!  I'm liking this thing more and more each time I look at it.  I don't think it will fit in the box for the $20 assortment, since that line has a size determinate as well.  Maybe in a new $30 range with the upcoming retooled TIE?

I'm pretty sure that's a AAA battery guys, making the toy 12-15% smaller than it would be if it were a AA.

It's not like I can pick it up anyway, after the 10 tank droids I'm getting.

It's nice they'd put something in there for reference, but why a AAA battery?  They're way more rare than AA, and since they look the same if you don't know the scale, why bother?  Just stick a quarter or dollar bill in there, or even *gasp* a ruler!

The pics aren't showing up

Niether is yours unless it's one of those red x kinda days..

Well, anyway you are correct that it's clear in the photos that Wedge's droid was allover red with white panels.  People have been customizing him up that way since the mid-90s at least, so I don't get Hasbro's deal.

The filming starship models' droids never matched up with live action shots anyway.  If they made all the pilots' droids that way, Biggs and Red Leader would have a gray R2 unit with black panels.

The pics aren't showing up, but yeah, the droid Wedge used at Yavin had the same dome that R3-T2 did in Mos Eisley.

This was apparently a common practice:  Porkin's had R5-D4's dome, Biggs had R2-Q2's from the blockade runner, John D had R4-M9 from the blockade runner, etc.  It makes sense that they wouldn't be bothered to paint all new schemes for all the droids in that sequence, considering how little you'd be expected to see of each one.  Echostation has had an image up for a decade showing Wedge's droid, so it's certainly nothing new.

It's just very disappointing that they first got R3-T2 wrong, and now got this one wrong too!

I was just squinting at the fine print on the back of the box that lists all the features, and am I correct in seeing the words "optional Rogue Squadron markings included" pointing to a bunch of TIE fighter and 2 Death Star kill markings?  That's pretty cool!

149
Not much left in this one I'm excited about.

1.  Republic hangar blue R2 with white dome
2.  Republic hangar red dome R2
3.  Republic hangar gold dome R2
4.  R4-P17 - correct colors (red body & legs)

Nice.  Aurra has been basically confirmed as well:

JediInsider: Aura Sing is getting some good screen time on the Clone Wars cartoon, will she be making an appearance anytime soon in the Clone Wars action figure line?

Hasbro: Unfortunately, not soon enough, as we can't wait to get her into the lineup. She is slated right now for 2010.
