There seem to be a number of possibilities here.  There's a hint in the article about a droid.

Some people have been reading into the color of the name pill.  But all of the code names fall within that whole purple spectrum of colors.

Theories?  Dark Troopers would fall within that droid territory.  But could Hasbro have developed that figure in this timeframe?

But then another thing came to mind - the packaging art for the Antoc Merrick X-Wing fighter.  Chopper is on there.  Hasbro hasn't released a Chopper figure since the TFA line.  And the whole purple theme does actually tie in with the color scheme for the REBELS series packaging for The Black Series.

Other possibilities?  This could be some of the crew from "The Prisoner".  Hasbro stated that they wanted to produce TVC figures of every character that interacted with the Razor Crest.  Q9-0 flew the ship.

Is Jayson ever wrong?  Definitely a droid of some sort, although he says its three figures, so I'm assuming its three droids.

What three droids would make sense?  Do they have to be related since they're being released at the same time, or might they just be three droids without a tie in to each other?  If they're not related I like your suggestions:

Interesting to see what they will be.  If it is a Dark Trooper, I'm buying a bunch!   

I won't lose sleep if I can't get a Chopper...I have the one from Disney and he's fantastic.  If Chopper is on that list, they should just put that one on a TVC card!

They'd be very smart to release a Dark Trooper.  Every collector in the country would be trying to buy a couple dozen.

Someone on that otheR site indicated that the hint is actually DROIDS.  Some of the comments were pretty convincing that these figures could be themed around the DROIDS animated series.

It probably is, they'll just repaint stuff.

So repainted R2, C-3PO, and a repainted Imperial?

Although Target seems to be doing a better job of avoiding straight repaints/reissues with their exclusive items.  Maybe we could actually get something more interesting from them, although I better not get my hopes up for a Vlix or something new.

Judging from the way they've done 6" Black Series army builders, I could easily see them making a Target exclusive Darktrooper (at 1 per case).

If the Droids rumor pans out, I'm hoping these are on Kenner Droids homage cardbacks instead of just Droids-themed TVC cards...

Rumor Update from Jayson.

So, the Periwinkle, Mauve, and Violet figures from yesterday are NOT from Droids...   but there are Target exclusive TVC Droids figures on the way:

“Taurus” - $15.99 - 087-16-5954 – TVC Droids R2-D2

$16 for Droids repaints of Fett, C-3PO, and R2-D2?  Woof, they better be nice repaints for me to even consider plunking down $50 for the set. 


So, now I guess we can go back to speculating on these:
