Agreed!  I was wondering just what these might be when the rumors began to circulate.  Figures from the vintage Droid and Ewoks lines have always gotten treated like the red-headed step children of the Kenner era (except for Vlix, of course).  And those figures weren't really something that interested me. 

But these are oddly more likable than I thought they might be.  And I'm pretty sure that Boba Fett sculpt is the VC-186 ROTJ Boba Fett under all of that Droids deco.

Agreed Jeff.  Way better looking than expected.  The coins are a nice bonus too.   I wonder if this opens the door to POTF style vintage cards and of course, Sim Aloo.

Sounds like these should go up for pre-order tomorrow as part of Target's Collector Geek Out Fall event.  Jayson posted the links earlier in the thread.  Roughly 9am ET.

It's been decades since I've watched Droids... when in the general timeline does it take place?

At one point Droids was set as 15 years before ANH, but I'm not sure if that 'canon' survived the Disney purchase or not.  It would put Boba Fett around 17yrs old during the events of Droids if that were the case.

I like that it frames Threepio and Artoo as being just droids that have been through some **** and eventually stumbled into the saga, rather than a critical part of it from day one. At least as far as I remember it when I watched it as a kid. My kids watched it on Disney+ recently and I watched a few episodes, but they've expressed no interest in going back to it. The opening song is terrible, but it was written by Stewart Copeland, which is funny.

DROIDS is the best…i rewatched the whole series a few weeks ago and it was glorious. And that theme song rocks! 

I love these, will try to get all three but being Target, securing their release could be difficult.
