Per Steve Evans the droid is VC341

Just wait for the Armorer's Forge playset, LOL!  That's still in the pipeline.  And it sounds like the Imperial Armored Commandos are in the works.

I'm still disappointed that there doesn't appear to be a TVC convention exclusive.  Only the Black Series Darth Maul with Bloodfin speeder has been revealed.

Osha Aniseya is VC327.  And there's currently a figure TBD slated as VC326.  Seriously wondering if that might be the Stranger, and the figure TBD in this wave.

I generally like what I see.  And Emily really played up the modular aspect of the playset in the Hasbro Pulse video.

The updates are nice on both Din Djarin and Bo-Katan.  But they seem incomplete.

Din Djarin is shown on the cardback with the Imperial jetpack.  But he's also shown with two blaster pistols that he took from the Imperial Armored Commandos.  The figure only comes with one blaster, and it looks like Din Djarin's original blaster.  The update to the hips is nice.  But the lack of attention to detail on the accessories bothers me.

Bo-Katan looks good.  And the paint apps on her face look good.  But I get the impression that they didn't update the head sculpt.  Bo's hair in season 3 looks different from her appearance in season 2.

I’m wondering if Hasbro will announce VC310 and VC326 at SDCC?  VC326 is interesting because it’s the mystery figure just before the three figures that were announced from The Acolyte.  Could that be The Stranger?  Hasbro kept Osha under wraps.  I imagine they might have done the same with the Stranger.

I was surprised to learn recently that Solomahal and Atheloe are two separate characters!  Someone had a BTS photo that showed the two of them together.

As for "What's Next?" in terms of a big ticket item?  Or a Haslab?  I think those could be conversations that are distinct from one another.

BIG VEHICLE FOR RETAIL
I think it's still possible.  The Mandalorian's N1 starfighter seems to have done reasonably well.  Hasbro also took the plunge with the E-Wing from AHSOKA.  And both of those came with a price tag over $100.

But what might be a good candidate for retail now?  There are a number of vehicles that have been made before which have never been offered in TVC.  And I wonder how much the community would embrace an upgraded version of a previously released vehicle.  Would people want an improved TVC Darth Vader TIE, Jedi Starfighter or A-Wing?

And equally, there are vehicles that haven't been made before in the starfighter line - the Outland TIE, TIE R/B, Pirate Snub fighter, or the RP82 Fiend Fighter.

Larger vehicles might be an option.  The ones that come to mind are an upgraded U-Wing, or Luthen Rael's Fondor Haulcraft.

I've been thinking that Qimir might have been Vernestra's padawan at some point.  And I think she's trying to cover that up.

I am not convinced that he's actually one of the Sith, despite things that he's said.  There was a music cue used with him that sounded like something related to Kylo Ren.  And his helmet is reminiscent of something that the leader of the Knights of Ren wore before Kylo Ren took over that sect of Dark Side users.  Could the Knights of Ren pre-date the rise of the Empire?  I suppose it's possible.

I just hope this means they will eventually do a pair of Retro Tonnikas  ;)

Would anyone want to see a Retro Collection Cantina?  I remember really liking that playset as a kid.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Do You Keep a Carded Set of TVC?
« on: July 9, 2024, 09:09 AM »
I've been keeping a carded collection of TVC since the line re-launched back in 2018.  Some of those to get autographed, and the rest just to have.

My other carded figures are scattershot.  There's a lot of POTF2, Episode I, POTJ and SAGA.  But after that?  It was a piecemeal thing because carded collections take up so much more space.  But even now as I go through a lot of old stuff?  The carded collections bring me less joy than they used to.  And I think I'm going to gradually start selling those off with the exception of the VOTC, VTSC and TVC figures.

I was in some difficult financial straights for a while and sold of most of my TVC 1.0 carded collection.  And that did bring in some much needed cash.  I couldn't believe what the SDCC exclusive carbon freeze chamber brought in.  Evidently, the peak time to do this was during the pandemic.  Secondary market prices soared at that time because people felt like they needed a hobby.

I wanted the wolf man more than the other unlocks… do we still think it’s likely he makes it into the main line somehow?

Same here!  I thought that Arleil Schous was the most interesting figure of the bunch.  Especially since he was infamously cut from his one big shot in the opening montage of the scene.

Based on the way things were worded about the stretch goal figures?  I think it's entirely possible that we'll get them in other forms down the road.  But I thin it could be a while until that happens.  In the meantime?  I think there's some low-hanging fruit with some other Cantina aliens.  Hasbro already confirmed a new Momaw Nadon.  A new Duros seems to a likelihood after the reveal of the Duros X-Wing pilot.  And the Figrin D'an figure could easily yield a Lirin Car'n.

The tally stands at 10,978.  I thought that it would have broken through the 11,000 mark a little earlier.  But I think some people are fence sitting right now.

The numbers have been marching steadily upward today.  I can see hitting the 11,000 mark within an hour or so.  And the pace tends to pick up towards the end of the day.

I think the speculators are going to swoop in this afternoon and the numbers will soar.  The Sail Barge was originally $500, and regularly sells for $2K or more on the secondary market.  And it had the lowest production numbers of any of the Star Wars TVC Haslab campaigns.  If the Tonnika Sisters and Wuher are limited to less than 15K produced of each of them?  The secondary market on those will go bananas.
