Saga Collection '06 / TRU Exclusive TSC TIE Fighter
« on: June 21, 2006, 11:21 PM »

Sports a sweet Kenner white paintjob, but still includes the POTF2 TIE Crewman. Hope it doesn't retail for less than $40, or I'll feel screwed that I shelled out that much for the 2005 one.

From one of the Hasbro Q&A:

Quote
Will we see more new Vehicles such as the AT-TE, Cloud Car, V-wing, in the foreseeable future? Can you be specific as to which ones?
"We *will* be producing some new vehicles in the 3-3/4" Starfighter Vehicle line-up in 2007. We cannot be more specific at this time…sorry! "

I'm guessing there will be 2-3 new vehicles. My picks:

Imperial V-Wing:

CIS Tank Droid:

Gian Speeder:

The Original Trilogy / Why Speederbikes On Endor?
« on: June 3, 2006, 06:40 PM »
I was watching ROTJ yesterday, and I wondered something. Why would the Empire deploy Speederbikes on Endor? As evidenced by the Speederbike Chase scene, if the Scouts make one wrong move, one flinch, they're toast. It would make more sense to deploy Speederbikes on Hoth, as it is open, flat, plains, and the Empire could cover a lot of ground quickly. But the Empire did not. Tatooine is another place where the Empire could've benefited from Speederbikes, as they could've covered more ground riding Speederbikes than slow, gassy Dewbacks. So why did they have Speederbikes on Endor?

Saga Collection '06 / Best Accesory Of The TSC Line
« on: May 5, 2006, 09:11 PM »
The TSC line, IMO, has been one of the best lines accesory-wise. What are your favorites? They can be from both the basic figure line or VTSC line. My picks:

1. Invisible Hand Command Console (Packed-In w/ #23 Lushros Dofine)
2. Snap-On General's Armor (Packed-In w/ #07 General Veers)
3. Movie-Accurate Geonosian Sonic Rifle (Packed-In w/ #16 Sun Fac)

Toy Reviews / The Saga Collection Firespeeder Pilot
« on: April 30, 2006, 05:00 PM »

This afternoon I started out on a fruitless hunt for the VTSC Greedo. I failed, but it wasn't a total loss. I ended up getting a Firespeeder Pilot at Wal*Mart! Yay! Go team! Anyways, in case you didn't know, this figure is based on the pilots that drove flying fire trucks to save Anakin and his gang. You know, those guys. They can also be seen servicing Obi-Wan's Jedi Interceptor in the Republic Hangar Bay shortly before the Battle of Utapau.

Sculpt: 5/5
This hunk o' plastic has a PHENOMINAL sculpt. It's accurate and true to the movie, and well detailed. The uniform has lots of tiny folds and creases, making it look very realistic. The various other things on his uniform, like the straps, are also well detailed. The helmet looks great, and while some have said it's too small, i think it's fine. After all, the helmets seemed small in the movies.

Articulation: 5/5
The Firespeeder Pilot has 12 points of articulation. He looks great aiming his water blaster, servicing Jedi Interceptors, flying an ARC-170, etc. 12 points of articulation is what I believe, is the bare minimum for a "troop builder" figure like this.

Paint: 4/5
Mostly, the Firespeeder Pilot has great paint, but on his side pockets, it is a little blotchy. Still, it's great all around, and especially good on his backpack, where it makes it look very shiny and realistic.

Accesories: 3.8/5
With the Firespeeder Pilot you get:
-Firefighting Equipment
-Stand
-Mini Hologram (I got Luke Skywalker)

It's okay, but more accesories would've been appreciated. I'm thinking packing in a DC-15 Rifle, Fuel Hose (For fueling up those Jedi Fighters), or a Datapad. Just a little something extra.

Overall: 4/5
The Firespeeder Pilot is pretty cool, and aside from more accesories, he's nearly perfect. So if you like Army Builders or Non-Clone Republic Troopers, this figure is for you.

Toy Reviews / The Saga Collection Foul Moudama
« on: April 11, 2006, 06:53 PM »
Like many people, I missed out on the 1998 Expanded Universe Line, so I was delighted to hear of new EU figures being mixed in with the regular TSC line, like Foul, Scorch, and the upcoming Shadow Stormtrooper.

Sculpt: 4/5
Foul's sculpt is a good representation of what he would have looked like in the real SW universe, since we only saw Foul as a cartoon. The newly sculpted Jedi robes look great, and could be useful for making a Wookie Jedi custom. The thing that knocks this figures sculpt score down is that he can't hold his lightsaber! Would sculpting a new lightsaber-friendly hand be that hard? Luckily I found a way for him to hold his saber without rubber bands.

Articulation: 4/5
Mr. Moudama has 6 points of articulation. This is decent for a large figure like him.

Paint: 5/5
Foul has a great paintjob, it makes the fur look very realistic. He has a lot of intricate little details painted on to his Jedi belt.

Accesories: 4/5
Foul has:
-Lightsaber
-Mini Hologram (I got Yoda)
-Base

Good accesories, but I think including the lightsaber from the POTF2 Endor Luke would've gave this category a 5. It also would've been cool to get a cloth cloak, or a datapad like Shaak Ti had. Hell even a Jedi Comlink would've been cool to get with Foul.

Overall: 4.2/5
If you like EU Characters, Jedi, EU Jedi, Aliens, Obscure Aliens, Alien Jedi, and Obscure Alien EU Jedi, then this figure is for you. More EU figures are always welcome, and this one is a pretty good one. Aside from not holding his saber, this a great figure, and a worthwhile use of your Lincoln and twin Washingtons.

The Prequel Trilogy / Favorite Neimoidian?

Title says it all. Mine would be Sentepeth Findos, who was bold enough to take the helm of the Trade Federation even during the reign of the Empire:
